I have been a regular business user of this Hotel. If you are looking for a quiet holiday destination avoid at all costs. The nightclub is wall to wall prostitution, the girls are registered at the hotel reception then sent to the rooms of their chosen clients. The evening in the lobby makes the red light district in amsterdam look tame, the morning exodus is amusing but all very sad and sordid. The hotel is old and showing its age a bit, if it wasnt for the prostitutes the hotel would be a very very average business hotel....Avoid unless you are a businessman looking for prostitutes.
Stayed here in November 2011 and had a great experience. For Dubai, the cost was not too much, although the food and drink options in the hotel definitely make up for it! Rooms were very nice and roomy, and I had a nice view of the water. You'll have to pay for internet, which can add up -- around $15 a day. There are a lot of options for food in the hotel, as well as the Galleria next door which has a couple bars and a club. The major problem with the bars is the smoke -- it made me appreciate the nonsmoking restaurants and bars in the US! Location is a bit away from everything, but the taxis are cheap so it's not a huge deal. The metro is right across from the hotel as well.
The hotel is OK. The place is not recently renovated, but this has been copensated by very good maintainance. Rooms are clean, beds very confortable. Due to its location hotel is relatively cheap, compared to others in Dubai. Location is not problematic since taxi to downtown is 10-15 EUR. The place is very clean and people are friendly. The minor remarks I have: On breakfast you have to wait for a table; The breakfast is nothing special, you will not stay hungry, but you can hardly be impressed; Internet is paid; In the lobby there is free WiFi, but you gain username and password only if you order something - it looked to me a bit ugly; Upon check out I was leaving my lagguage in the hotel. I was instucted on reception where. When I entered the room to leave the bag a piccolo came in and start to explain me that this is privite area. The tone was bad - I was suppoused to feel sorry for my ignorance. Big boss on a small position... Anyway the overall impression was good.
last november i stayed in hyatt regency galleria an i booked 2 bedrooms (large) as they have 2 typs and i was up graded to 3 beds...it was clean, the hotel stuff were very pulite.my son loved the ice rank at the hotel and they give 50%discount for the residents.also there was a supermarket which was very conveniet.honstly i loved the place, but maybe the bathrooms need to be updated.
As someone else said this hotel is good but it isnt quite great. There was nothing specifically wrong with our stay, we were met at the airport by the hotel car and my request for an early check in was dealt with (we landed at 8am and were in our room by 10.30) The rooms were cleaned morning and evening and the staff were polite and helpful. But there were little details that were missing, for instance we were in the club rooms which allows us to have a complimentary breakfast but as has been said it is the same food everyday. Other hotel chains (Sheraton, Le Meridian) allow their club guests to go to the main breakfast restaurant if they want at no extra charge but we were never offered that option. Also we were never given a free newpaper delivered to our room, which is standard elsewhere, again it is a small issue but it stops this from being great. Other than that it is in a good location, there is a metro station a 2 minute walk away which allows you to get to most places in Dubai very cheaply, yes it is on the flight path but you get used to the planes passing overhead as you sit by the pool. The Regency Club was very good for the evening cocktails, and each night was a different theme for the food, which was of a high standard. We tried 2 restaurants in the hotel. Foccacia and Kitchen, both did very good food and quite large portions. Overall I would say I was happy to have stayed at this hotel but with a few minor adjustments I think it could be a great hotel.
Good service freindly staff nice bars and restaurants and the regency suite I booked was absolutely wonderful and nice views. You could notice the flights taking off from the airport and I got the chance to see the A380 twice, there is no noise so don't worry. The only downside to me was check in process although I arrived around 12 pm I didn't get into my room until 4 pm and I was placed in a temproray room until the guest checked out. Overall it was a nice stay and for them to make up for the delay caused I was offered a complimentary car to the airport which was a nice gesture. Highly recommended.

Despite strict Islamic laws against kissing or holding hands in Dubai, unofficially the city is one of the world’s main centers for prostitution.
To maintain the illusion of morality, however, most prostitution is not street prostitution. There are, however, some notorious areas. This article explains how those areas operate and suggests safer alternatives.
The vast majority of Dubai prostitution, at all price levels, happens in bars, clubs, and hotels. Almost every woman in some high-end bars are “on the game” and, despite it being illegal, the owners encourage it because they know this is what attracts their high-spending customers.
In the same way that hotels in Dubai cater to every price point, prostitution is available at every level. From high-class European and Russian escorts in the posh hotel bars charging hundreds or even thousands of dollars, to Filipina shopgirls targeting less wealthy guys in the sports bars and clubs, to Chinese women patrolling the lobbies of 3-star hotels, and all the way down to the Bangladeshi and Indonesian maids operating in car parks late at the weekends, mostly selling themselves to male migrant workers from similarly poor countries. Prostitution is ubiquitous in Dubai.
Most street prostitutes gather close to the hotels favored by foreign visitors, so, you will many congregating in areas such as Jumeriah. If you are male, they will try to engage you in conversation as you stroll by. They can almost always speak some English, but probably not as well as the girls operating in the bars. Others street prostitutes target cars, pooling in discreet areas where cars can easily pull up to the curb. Once a price agreeable to both is negotiated, the prostitute hops into the car and off they go.
As we mention in the article Can I be Gay in Dubai? doing something that is illegal makes you vulnerable to scammers because, of course, you cannot report it to the police without getting thrown into jail yourself. Every day, all over the world, horny chaps end up getting mugged or drugged by a stranger they invited into their car or hotel room. You can wake up with a splitting headache, all your valuables gone and, sometimes, missing a kidney. When this happens in most countries, you can report it to the police and there is some hope that, eventually, the delightful young lady will be apprehended. In Dubai, forget about it. These scammers can keep operating forever because no-one will ever report it.
A more common scam is that, once in your hotel bed, the lucky lady, who seemed so enthusiastic about you right up until a few minutes ago, will unaccountably start screaming. It will soon become clear that she intends to keep screaming until the hotel staff come running in, at which point she will claim that you tried to rape her, OR until you hand her a large amount of money. The going rate appears to be twice whatever it was you agreed to pay.
I am not suggesting that you will definitely get scammed. What will probably happen is that you will have a short, unsatisfactory bonk with a woman who doesn’t smell so great once you get up close. At a key moment, she will try to charge you extra money, you will say no, but your romantic moment will be left in tatters. Three days later, you will start to notice a persistent itch.
Bars, even the cheaper sports bars, are generally a safer bet because you have at least the reassurance that the bar would not be willing to host a prostitute if she had a reputation for being an outright scammer. You also have the opportunity to chat before committing to anything, which gives you the chance to notice if she seems a bit nutty or scratches herself a lot. The fact that she is probably on the bar’s CCTV also increases the chance that you will wake up with your kidneys still in your body.
The other form of street prostitution, by women from very poor countries servicing migrant workers from similar countries, should be avoided altogether. They will not have much English and will have crazy ideas about what you, as a rich foreigner, can afford to pay.
If you do manage to negotiate a deal, you are at high risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection. You are at risk of this from any sex worker, in any country, but those at the bottom of the barrel in Dubai, and their regular migrant customers, come from parts of the world where such infections are endemic and good medical care is rare.
You will also be entering a situation in which you are surrounded by men from those countries, very few of whom will speak English either, and many of whom would consider it fair game to mug a rich infidel. Again, they know that you cannot go to the police.
On the whole, I would advise avoiding any situation in which you pay money to get your dick wet. If you absolutely have to, please play it safe, try not to be too drunk when getting yourself into potentially risky situations, and consider just waiting until you are in a country where this sort of thing is safer. On the other hand, this Dubai could be the best chance you will have to shag an Iranian.
