Follow along at app.com and Jersey Shore Eats on Instagram. Sushi is this reporters all-time favorite food, and I dined on some of the freshest at the Shore last week at Shogun Legacy in Toms River. It was love at first sight, or rather first appetizer. Sashimi nachos are toro chips loaded with diced tuna, salmon, white tuna, yellowtail, avocado and mango, topped with a miso and spicy lemon drizzle. Every bite of fish nearly melts in your mouth. Boardwalk delivery: Order seafood, burritos and more for delivery from this favorite boardwalk spot For dinner, we tried the Young Chow fried rice, perfect for indecisive eaters because it comes with pork, chicken and shrimp. The Surf and Turf roll is filled with generous chunks of lobster, cucumber and crunch mixed with spicy lemon sauce, topped with tender Kobe beef, truffle oil and scallions. We paired the meal with a bottle of Joto Junmai Nigori sake, known as The Blue One and brewed by the over 150-year-old Nakao Brewery in Takehara, Japan. It has a dry, almost herbal flavor mixed with a coconut creaminess. The Japanese-inspired decorations and dining areas are yet another reason to visit Shogun Legacy.
