The hype for this film was so high that the tickets were sold out in Japan, 5 months before the official release.
It's implied here that Frieza was the first one to use Scouters, as he offers them to the Saiyan army as part of their service to he and his father's organizations. But flashbacks in the original Dragon Ball Z anime clearly show that it was the Tuffles (the other race living on Planet Vegeta before the Saiyans wiped them out) who first used them, as a means of identifying their invading foes.
Does not include a post-credits scene. However, the closing credits play over footage of characters featured in the film.

A good film, even if you aren't a fan of DBZ
I'm not the biggest Dragon Ball Z fan, but when my cousin wanted to watch "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" with me, I decided to give it a shot. And I'm glad I did. "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" is packed with high-octane and colorful action, warmhearted humor, and even some emotion and heart. Don't believe me? Read on! "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" hooked me almost right off the bat. The animation was crisp, colorful, and clear, and the story was surprisingly gripping. In the first ten to fifteen minutes you're introduced to plot points including themes such as paranoia, planetary domination, and betrayal. And as if that wasn't enough to grip me, at a certain point I even found my eyes starting to swell up; my cousin looked over to me, asking, "Are you going to cry?" And I wiped my eyes and said, "I might." So, "Broly" has high-quality animation, and a surprisingly well thought out plot - what else does it have going for it? For one, the soundtrack is, simply, epic. The music is big and brash and loud, and enhances the intensity of the action, as well as adds to the emotional beats. Also, the movie has a really good sense of humor throughout that never seems overly ridiculous or cartoony; there are multiple subtle lines of dialogue or sly actions that the characters make that add a real personality to this movie, never contrasting negatively against the semi-dark plot. Sure, there is comedy, but it doesn't feel shoehorned for mass audience appeal - everything feels surprisingly natural. "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" is a genuinely good film. There's enough cinematic meat for you to chew on with its soundtrack and beautiful, fluid animation, and especially with its story - the movie takes its time setting up the main plot, introducing characters and storylines that you'll want to see through to completion, even if you're not a huge fan of DBZ.

It's overall just a great movie from the action scenes to the slight bits of comedy. it's all perfect. The bitrate was low and the quality was bad more in the first few minutes, but it quickly got better and it looked smoother than I have ever seen. The adrenalin rush gotten from watching it is off the charts and I'm so glad I got it.

Broly has been, since is debut, one of the most iconic Dragon Ball villains. This is despite the fact that his existence up until now has been non-cannon to the main story, as he was a movie character, and the movies before Resurrection were all considered expanded universe. It's also in spite of the fact that the movies that featured him were bad even by Dragon Ball standards. This movie makes Broly an official part of Dragon Ball cannon. In doing so, it also changes Broly's backstory to something that actually makes sense, and makes the character himself more tragic and relatable. Whereas the original character was more of a dumbed down version of the Hulk, this Broly is more intelligent, though with a child-like demeanor that makes it clear his issues are a product of his upbringing - being raised by his father for the sole purpose of revenge. About the first half of the movie is plot. The plot isn't going to win any awards, not that it wants to. It's just a setup for the action later, a fact that's evident by the actual bad guy's ridiculous motivation. I don't mean that in a negative way, it's a self aware plot that is pretty well executed as far as Dragon Ball story telling goes. There's no standing around talking, it's all show, not tell. That's thanks in part to the evidently generous animation budget. You'll find no attempts to save frames in this animation, which brings me to my next point. The animation is gorgeous. Perhaps owing to the winning streak Dragon Ball has been on since its revival, the studio decided not to cut any corners with this one. The only use of CGI I noticed was a single scene animating Freiza's space ships, which was odd, but not bothersome. If it happened again after that, it was blended in well enough that I didn't catch it. The second half of the movie is definitely the payoff. The second half, almost in its entirety, is one long fight scene. I would say more about it, but there's not much more to say. If you like Dragon Ball fight scenes, you understand. Well, if you're a fan of boxing or MMA, you understand. This is the main event, it's what you came here for. I can only make general statements about it because describing it wouldn't do any good. Just imagine any climactic battle from Dragon Ball, only with an unlimited animation budget, and a highly skilled team putting it together. That's what you're getting. If someone said this was the best fight in Dragon Ball history, I wouldn't call them a liar. That's worth the price of admission alone, if you're a fan, or maybe even if you're not one.
