Elon Musk’s feud with the Kremlin took another strange turn this week after the billionaire changed his Twitter name to “Elona” following a taunt by Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov.
Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, slammed Musk following the billionaire’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin should engage in “single combat.”
A close Putin ally, Kadyrov responded with a lengthy post in which he referred to Musk as “gentle (effeminate) Elona” and invited him to train with Chechen special forces to prepare for the fight.
Kadyrov said Musk would return from the trip a “completely different person.” Musk responded by sharing a translation of Kadyrov’s post and declining the training offer.
“Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would give me too much of an advantage. If he is afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand and I am not even left-handed,” Musk tweeted, signing off his post with the name “Elona.”

The Tesla founder also changed his Twitter display name to reflect Kadyrov’s taunt.
Musk initially challenged Putin to a fight earlier this week as Russia escalated its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, tweeting “stakes are Ukraine.”
Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, tweeted in response to Musk , referring to him as a “little devil.”
“Compete with me weakling; it would only be a waste of time. Overtake my brother first,” Rogozin said.
Musk has tweeted about the fight several times since he initially made the challenge. In one post, Musk shared a meme of himself using a Boring Company flamethrower alongside an altered image of a shirtless Putin riding a bear.
“He can even bring his bear,” Musk wrote.
While Musk has poked fun at Russian officials on Twitter, he has played a serious role in assisting Ukraine during the invasion. SpaceX provided Starlink internet to Ukrainians to address concerns that the populace could lose access during the hostilities.
Musk also issued a warning for Ukrainians to be careful when using the service because the Russian military was likely to target satellite signals with strikes.

Chechnya's warlord leader sneeringly referred to Tesla boss Elon Musk as 'Elona' while warning the entrepreneur that his friend Vladimir Putin would hammer him in a fight if they ever came to blows.
Ramzan Kadyrov hit out at Musk with the slurs on messaging service Telegram a day after the SpaceX founder challenged the despotic Russian president to a fight.
Kadyrov - whose country is notorious for torturing and killing gay men - issued a homophobic broadside, writing: 'You'll need to pump up those muscles in order to change from the (effeminate) Elona into the brutal Elon you need to be.'
The diatribe had begun threateningly, with Kadyrov snarling: 'Elon Musk, a word of advice. Don't measure your strength against that of Putin's.
'You're in two completely different leagues.'
Chechen strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, left, buddies up with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kadyrov is considered a puppet of the Kremlin
Kadyrov issued this sneering broadside to Musk, with the Tesla tycoon then sharing a translation of it with his followers
Kadyrov, who has been pictured cuddling up to Putin, 69, continued: 'Vladimir Vladimirovich will look unsportsmanlike when he beats the hell out of you, a much weaker opponent.' He used Putin's Christian and middle names, before outlining his hypothetical plan to 'train' Musk, 50.
That involved firearms training at the Russian Special Forces University, a trip to the Akhmat Fight Club to 'be trained to take a punch' and a visit to the Grozny Chechen State television and Radio Broadcasting company, to learn what Kadyrov dubbed 'American methods of 'black PR'.'
Kadyrov signed off his missive: 'You will return from the Chechen Republic a completely different person Elona, that is, Elon.'
Musk appeared non-plussed by Kadyrov's venom, and shared a translation of the message with his 78 million followers, before changing his display name to Elona.
He even ramped up the tension further, tweeting: 'Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would give me too much of an advantage. If he is afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand and I am not even left-handed. Elona.'
On Monday, Musk, 50, threw down the gauntlet to Putin, goading him to fight over Ukraine.
'I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat,' Musk posted, using Putin's name in Russian. 'Stakes are Ukraine,' he added, writing the country's name in Ukrainian.
Elon Musk, who mocked Kadyrov's hyper-masculine image by embracing the female version of his name, said he could beat Putin with his off hand
Kadyrov, who inherited the role of head of the Chechen Republic after his father, who previously held the title, was assassinated. Human Rights Watch has accused him of crimes against humanity, including kidnapping, torture, assassinations and the persecution of homosexuals.
The ultra macho Kadyrov, who is frequently pictured in military garb, carrying a gun or sometimes carrying an alligator, told Musk on Twitter that he's too much of a girly-man to take on the Russian invader.
'You'll need to pump up those muscles in order to change from the gentle (effeminate) Elona into the brutal Elon you need to be.'
He proposed a get-tough regime to get the Space X entrepreneur into fighting shape.
'I propose training at one of the several centers in the Chechen Republic,' he said.
Here's how he would make a man out of Musk:
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov wrestles an alligator in this photo, but he had a tougher training regime in mind for Elon Musk
'Russian Special Forces University: Here you will undergo firearms training with world championship special forces, who beat US special forces in 2015 like it was nothing,' he said.
Next, 'Akhmat Fight Club: This is where you'll be trained to take a punch, a quality needed in any fight. Under the guidance of Abuzayed Vismuradov, you will learn to quickly pull yourself up not just physically, but also mentally, giving you nerves of steel.'
Vismuradov, the commander of the Terek Special Response Team, was the target of US Treasury sanctions for a 2017 'gay purge' in which homosexual men were imprisoned and tortured.

Finally, Kadyrov would have the South-African-born businessman learn to spin the news at the Grozny Chechen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
'Practice within the walls of 'Grozny' where they will tell you about American methods of 'black PR,' and teach you how to monitor and update social network accounts.'
Kadyrov is well equipped to carryout the training. He has been a major fan of Putin's for more than a decade, enriching himself in the North Caucasus republic while carrying out the Kremlin's brutal policies.
The Ukraine government official asked Musk to provide the embattled country with Starlink stations
Less than 11 hours later, Musk answered the call and revealed more terminals were on route
'You will return from the Chechen Republic a completely different person Elona, that is, Elon,' the warlord quipped.
Unfazed by the tough talk, Musk punched back on Twitter.
'Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would give me too much of an advantage,' he posted. 'If he is afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand and I am not even left-handed.'
The tech billionaire, whose most serious challenger before this has been the Securities and Exchange Commission, may be biting off more than he can chew taking on the former head of the KGB.
The Russian president is a judo blackbelt and even co-authored a book about the sport, titled 'Judo: History, Theory, Practice'.
Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted at Musk last month for help
Putin, 69, was made honorary president of the International Judo Federation in 2008, but has been suspended from the role over his war on Ukraine.
Musk's bizarre challenge was part of a flurry of tweets he sent out over the course of two days, including the oft-quoted Shakespeare line from Macbeth: 'By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.'
In another tweet, he posted a meme of a character from the Netflix show Narcos sitting on a porch swing that reads, 'Netflix waiting for the war to end to make a movie about a black Ukraine guy falls in love with a transgender Russian soldier.'
Earlier on Monday, he also posted the cryptic message, 'There is a beauty to the biological substrate.'
Musk has tried to be a thorn in Putin's side since the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, even providing internet service to the war-torn country through his Starlink satellite service at the request of Ukrainian officials.
Musk, worth a reported $218.9 billion, mocked Russian officials earlier this month after the head of its space program brushed off US sanctions on Moscow for launching all-out war on Ukraine.
'In a situation like this we can't supply the United States with our world's best rocket engines. Let them fly on something else, their broomsticks, I don't know what,' Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Russia's space agency, said on state Russian television on March 3.
That same day, Musk tweeted a link to a successful SpaceX launch followed by the words, 'American Broomstick,' along with American flag emojis.
Late last month, the tech titan answered a plea from the vice prime minister of Ukraine, who asked the tycoon to help the embattled nation with satellite internet access.
'@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand,' the vice PM Mykhailo Fedorov wrote in a tweet.
Russian bomb strikes have knocked out internet connection for much of the country.
The apparent challenge was part of a flurry of tweets Musk, 50, sent out over the course of three hours
Officials there are keen that locals remain connected so their stories can be used to combat Russian propaganda - and so that they can share atrocities being carried out by Russian troops on behalf of Putin.
That same day, Musk answered the call and said that he would be sending Starlink receivers to the country.
'Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route,' Musk tweeted hours after the extraordinary request.
Starlink is a space-based system that SpaceX has been building for years to bring internet access to underserved areas of the world.
Musk's tweeting has gotten him into trouble before.
In 2018, he was forced to step down as Tesla's chairman, establish an independent board and pay $40 million to settle fraud charges from the SEC over his promise to take the electric car company private at a premium share price.

Rublevka, simply put, is Russia’s “Beverly Hills”: home to rich, famous, and influential Russians who live in luxury, hidden behind tall fences and walls. Technically, it is located outside Moscow, some 10 kilometers to the west via the Rublevo-Uspenskoe Highway, yet the area, and its residents, are nonetheless an integral part of Russia’s capital.
Officially, there is no such an administrative unit as Rublevka. Instead, the name of the area is a social construction, popularised in mass culture as a synonym of being filthy rich, as it is one of the most expensive residential areas in the world. It is also a play of words as – you know it – the ruble is the Russian currency.
In Tsarist Russia, nobility built homes here, only to be replaced by dachas of Lenin, Stalin, and other state officials after the Bolshevik Revolution. In Soviet times, famous scientists, artists, and writers — including Mstislav Rostropovich, Andrei Sakharov, Dmitry Shostakovich — had dachas in Rublevka. Today, Rublevka is inhabited by oligarchs, multi-millionaires, and all-powerful figures. The Russian President’s official residence is in Novo-Ogaryevo – not far from Rublevka.
Although Rublevka is considered the most famous luxury residential area in the immediate vicinity of Moscow, there are many other elite villages and areas in the Moscow Region, most of which are located to the west of the capital.
The Golden Mile is an unofficial name for one of the most expensive residential areas in Moscow. It is a small piece of land where luxury real estate has been built. It is located between Ostozhenka Street and Prechistenskaya Embankment, a 10-15 minute walk from the Kremlin, with some of the buildings overlooking the Moscow River.
With prices up to $40,000 for a square meter, Ostozhenka is often listed among the most expensive streets in the world. Given that an average apartment there is around 240 square meters in size, the price tag for it can reach as high as $10 million or even more.
“[Before 1989], this area was abandoned, because of the planned construction of the Palace of the Soviets (which was to be built on the site of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour). The entire area was planned to be cleared to make possible the construction of a wide avenue leading to the Lenin Hills [currently known as Vorobyovy Gory],” says Alexander Skokan, an architect and a founder of the Ostozhenka Bureau.
However, the Palace of the Soviets was never built. Instead, luxury houses began to be erected there. Consequently, it may be hard to come by residents in this area, as most of the buildings have been bought for investment purpos
