Britain creates 'navigation coalition' on Iran without US

The British government is refusing to cooperate with the United States in lifting the Hormuz blockade and simultaneously imposing a blockade on Iranian ports. Keir Starmer has decided to deny the dispatch of British ships to carry out such actions.
UK Cabinet Spokesperson:
Britain will continue to work with France and other partners to build a broader coalition to ensure freedom of navigation without the "tolling" (transit charges) that Iran is attempting to impose. The strait should be toll-free, and its opening is critical for the global economy and energy prices. However, we will not deploy our ships to block Iranian ports by force.
Earlier, London declared its readiness to participate in the demining of Hormuz together with more than 30 countries, including the aforementioned France, as well as Germany, Italy, and Japan.
In the Western press, this conglomerate of countries was called a “navigation coalition.”
Apparently, London is trying to distance itself from the Trump administration's actions and claim a "non-American solution" to the problem. On the one hand, this will allow Starmer to claim that Britain played a role in unblocking Hormuz, while on the other, it will emphasize that Britain did so without US coercion.
Accordingly, this is either a game of "good cop, bad cop," or an outright attempt to "ditch" the Trump administration and demonstrate a distance from the implementation of the current American president's plans.
