A dozen years after their hugely popular reality TV show ended, the sisterhood of "The Girls Next Door" stars is still strong between two of the women, but not all three.
From 2005 to 2009, "The Girls Next Door" was one of the biggest reality shows on TV, as it chronicled Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's romantic relationships with his girlfriends, Holly Madison , Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt.
In a new chat with E! News , Bridget notes that she and Holly still communicate on a daily basis, but the same can't be said for Kendra.
"Holly and I are still going strong," said the "Ghost Magnet With Bridget Marquardt" host. "We are great friends. We talk almost every day, whether it's text or voice memos or whatever."
In fact, the women still collaborate on projects.
"We still run and do little adventures together, usually paranormal or Old Hollywood-type things, like an old-school restaurant in Hollywood that we haven't been to yet—'Let's go try that out'—or stay in creepy themed places," she said. "We went to Big Bear, and they had these themed cottages, and one was Haunted Mansion-themed, and we were like, 'We have to.'"
When it comes to the Kendra, Bridget doesn't have the same relationship.
"We're not as close, but we still keep in contact here and there," she said.
Holly and Kendra have famously had an icy relationship over the years, especially after Holly released her book , "Down the Rabbit Hole," in 2015. In the book, the "Holly's World" star had many not-so-positive things to say about Hef, whom Kendra remained close to until his death in 2017. The former "Kendra on Top" star even said Holly's book is "full of lies."
Earlier this year on Andy Cohen's "For Real: The Story of Reality TV" special, Kendra pulled back the veil on "The Girls Next Door," claiming, "On camera, you saw us together and it was the trio. Off camera, we would just disappear into our own little world. We just never bonded. We were not friends."
Kim Kardashian took some heat last month after revealing she dropped 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into Marilyn Monroe's dress for the Met Gala . The way she sees it, it's no different than actors shedding weight for a role.
"To me it was like, 'OK, Christian Bale can do it for a movie role and that is acceptable.' Even Renée Zellweger gained weight for a role. It's all the same to me," she told The New York Times.
Under the watchful eye of her trainer, the reality TV star lost the weight via diet and vigorous exercise, noting she "didn't do anything unhealthy." Kim also insists that her decision to shed the pounds wasn't intended to influence anyone.
"I wasn't saying, 'Hey everyone, why don't you go lose this weight in a short period of time?'" she said. "I just simply couldn't have gone, which wouldn't have mattered."
Kim added, "It was just important to me to reach that goal."
While Kim and her inner circle were pleased with the results, others criticized her , including "Riverdale" actress Lili Reinhart, who dubbed "The Kardashians" star "other-worldly disgusting."
After the Met Gala on May 2, Kim indulged in doughnuts and pizza because she was "starving."
"I haven't had carbs or sugar in almost a month, definitely three weeks," she told Vogue. Proving that her mindset hasn't changed, at the time Kim equated the body transformation to "preparing for a role."
Despite his insistence otherwise, Johnny Depp could very well return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, a former Disney executive claims.
On the heels of his defamation win against ex-wife Amber Heard , the actor said he got his "life back." Now, a return to the hugely-popular Disney franchise might not be as farfetched as people think.
"I absolutely believe post-verdict that 'Pirates' is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board," the former Walt Disney Studios exec told People magazine . "There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture."
The insider added, "With [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer riding high on the massive success of Tom Cruise in 'Top Gun: Maverick,' there is huge appetite for bringing back bankable Hollywood stars in massively popular franchises."
Johnny starred in five "Pirates" films, and he even earned an Oscar nomination for playing Capt. Jack Sparrow in the original "Pirates of the Caribbean" in 2003.
While testifying in his civil trial, which stemmed from Amber's 2018 op-ed published in the Washington Post, Johnny said he wouldn't work with Disney again, even if the Mouse House offered him a $300 million paycheck. The company, he felt, saw him as "guilty until proven innocent" after the op-ed. The actor did, however, say he wanted to give the character a "proper goodbye" and would have made "Pirates" movies "until it was time to stop."
A separate insider told People that Johnny would have to consider a Disney reunion if the money was right. A different studio source didn't delve into Johnny's Disney ties, but believes someone will give him a chance to act again.
"He is very likable and very talented. A studio will just have to gauge and see it worth the risk and value, but he also won public opinion," the source said. "He gained a whole new fan base through this and, yes, he will be back."
Millie Bobby Brown is not going to be single forever.
The "Stranger Things" star revealed that she and costar Noah Schnapp plan to get hitched in 2045 if neither of them are married by then.
"We said if we're not married by 40, we'll get married together," she told MTV News . "Because we'd be good roomies."
Still, there's no love connection between Millie, 18, and Noah, 17, as she pointed out that they would be wed "completely platonically" and have "separate bedrooms for sure."
The two also have ground rules for their 23-years-down-the-road marriage.
"No kids, though, cause I could not deal with a child of yours," she said.
Noah, who plays Will Byers on "Stranger Things," agreed, "That's my deal breaker, no kids."
"That's my deal breaker, too, no kids at all," Millie, who plays Eleven on the Netflix show, said.
Dogs, however, would be welcome in the Schnapp-Brown household.
In reality, Millie is currently taken, as she's been dating Jake Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi's 20-year-old son, for a year. The two often post snaps with each other on Instagram and profess their love.
Last month he shared a snap of the two attending the Season 4 premiere of "Stranger Things."
"Congratulations babe u deserve the world love you," he captioned a red carpet photo.
On his birthday, Millie shared a series of intimate pictures and videos.
"Happy birthday baby, can't wait to fly to the moon and back with you!," she wrote.
Machine Gun Kelly has introduced his mother to his fans — an introduction that comes a year after the two reconnected for the first time since she abandoned him as a child.
The singer posted a photo with his mother to Instagram on Thursday, June 2. In the snap, the pair lean into each other while sitting with their legs crossed. In the image, she held up a peace sign, whereas MGK held up middle fingers. The two both smiled.
Fans loved the image, immediately commenting with heart emojis and positive words. Several people noted that they were emotional having seen the picture.
Born to missionary parents, the "Bloody Valentine" singer was raised by his father, who died in 2020.
MGK sang about his once-fractured relationship with his mother, who abandoned him when he was 9 years old, in "Burning Memories."
"Yeah, this one's for the mama that I never knew, I took acid just to burn all of my memories of you," he sang. "I guess now I really wanna know the truth: How'd you leave your only child at nine for another dude?"
He added, "All the years that you ignored me, left me sleepless in the bed; I hope that he got some kids because your only son is dead."
While the relationship seemed irreconcilable, MGK revealed that year that he reunited with his mom, tweeting in June 2021, "Wild story but after all these years, the fans are responsible for me and my mom finally reconnecting i love you."
The Las Vegas wedding industry is getting all shook up over a massive Elvis Presley crackdown.
Vegas essentially has the market cornered in regard to Elvis-themed weddings, but that could all come to a screeching halt after Authentic Brand Group, which licenses Elvis-related merchandise, issued a cease-and-desist letter to several Las Vegas chapels that lean into the "Hound Dog" singer's deep Sin City ties.
In its letter, which was obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal , ABG specifies that "Elvis," "Elvis Presley," and "The King of Rock and Roll" are all protected trademarks, and the company intends to stop the unauthorized use of "Elvis Presley's name, likeness, voice image, and other elements of Elvis Presley's persona in advertisements, merchandise, and otherwise."
The letter, which was sent out on May 19, warned that legal action could be taken against an "infringing chapel."
"This couldn't hit at a worse time. It's not a good thing," Clark County Clerk Lynn Goya said the local newspaper. "It might destroy a portion of our wedding industry. A number of people might lose their livelihood."
Weddings are a $2 billion industry in Las Vegas , and Elvis-themed ceremonies make up a significant part of that number. In February, the city issued its five-millionth wedding license.
The businesses targeted in the letter include chapels that specialize in, or offer, Elvis ceremonies or have the King's image as part of their name and logo, the report notes. Many chapels are already stripping the icon, who performed in Vegas for years, from signage and websites.
"This could be very damaging to our industry," Melody Willis-Williams, president of Vegas Weddings and Viva Las Vegas Weddings, said. "Most of us are small businesses, and we're up against a superpower with a lot of money. It could kill us in lawyer fees to fight this."
"Elvis weddings are synonymous with Las Vegas," she continued, noting that her chapel does "thousands" of Elvis ceremonies a year.
In April, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had an unofficial Elvis-themed wedding after the Grammy Awards . In 2019, an Elvis impersonator presided over Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's legal ceremony. The Elvis brand is also having a bit of a resurgence , as Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" is set to hit theaters on June 24. The film stars Austin Butler as the singer and Tom Hanks as Elvis' longtime manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Many chapels — a slew of whom are just now recovering from the COVID pandemic — were likely to capitalize on the publicity surrounding the film.
Some chapel operators think there could be a loophole, noting there's nothing stopping someone from dressing up as Elvis and performing a ceremony, as the letter can't regulate officiant's clothing. Plus, Nevada's "right of publicity" statute already covers The King's image in tribute shows.
Kent Ripley, who co-owns Elvis Weddings and performs ceremonies as the "Jailhouse Rock" singer, told the Review Journal he hasn't received a warning.
"We get bookings that have been planned for three, four, five years to have an Elvis wedding," he said. "They want to protect the Elvis brand. But what are they protecting by taking Elvis away from the public?"
Honey Boo Boo is legally living under a different roof.
A Georgia judge has stripped Mama June Shannon's custody rights over daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, multiple media outlets said this week. Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, Alana's 22-year-old sister, now has sole custody over the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star.
The Sun reported that June will be allowed to contact Alana, 16, by phone daily, and she will have to pay Pumpkin $800 per month in child support until Honey Boo Boo turns 18 years old.
Court documents show that June makes approximately $25,000 per month, depending on production and endorsements. But, when the custody petition was filed, June's reality TV show had "not been renewed for a new season," so her only "certain income is disability in the amount of $1,015.00 per month."
In reality, not much will change for Alana, as her sister was awarded temporary guardianship over Honey Boo Boo in August 2019, with the permission from her father, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. At the time, June had been arrested on drug possession charges with then-boyfriend Geno Doak, who the family disliked .
The news comes a few months after the "From Not to Hot" star secretly married Justin Stroud. Marriage records, unearthed this week, show the couple tied the knot on March 23 at the Wilkinson County Court.
June has reportedly been sober for more than two years now. In March 2021, she revealed that she and Geno were so deep into addiction that they spent close to $1 million on drugs . At the end of it, she had less than $2 in her bank account.
The estranged wife of NeNe Leakes ' boyfriend is suing the reality TV star.
Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh, who married Nyonisela Sioh in 2016, alleged that NeNe and Nyonisela had an affair while he was still married. Malomine is seeking $100,000 in damages from Leakes for "alienation of affections" and "criminal conversation," TMZ reported.
According to the filing, Malomine said she and Nyonisela had a "happy" marriage before he began dating the former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star. She claimed that NeNe and Nyonisela "engaged in an ongoing romantic, uninhibited, and adulterous affair without the knowledge or consent" of his wife. She further alleges that her then-husband "repeatedly lied to [her] about his whereabouts."
In court documents, Nyonisela listed his and Malomine's separation date as Dec. 17, 2021, two days after he attended NeNe's birthday. Citing social media pictures of NeNe and Nyonisela from that bash, Malomine's lawsuit said she faced "embarrassment, humiliation, and disgrace."
"As a result of the adulterous relationship between [NeNe] and [Nyonisela], the love and affection which existed between [Malomine] and [Nyonisela] was alienated, estranged, and destroyed," the lawsuit alleged.
According to reports, NeNe began dating Nyonisela just three months after the death of her husband Gregg Leakes. She has said that Gregg encouraged her to find love again.
Shailene Woodley is publicly praising her longtime pal Miles Teller for his work in "Top Gun: Maverick," but she also gushed about his physical look and glistening abs.
"We laughed, we cried, we clapped. so much clapping," she said while referring to the film. "@tomcruise obvi slayed so hard … and #milesteller gave the world everything you want but rarely get in a blockbuster film … heart. soul. sass. charisma. (oiled up abs). pain. elation. and he did it all with such subtlety you barely knew it was happening."
Shailene called Miles "a wildly talented actor."
"It made my heart explode watching him do his thing in this," she continued in her Instagram post . "Thank you for giving the world this gift. Miles, you deserve every ounce of this exciting moment. Proud sister moment happening over here."
The "Big Little Lies" actress also applauded the film.
"If you haven't had the chance yet, run, don't walk, to your nearest cinema, sit your a** down, and watch the new Top Gun. you will feel like a kid again…going to the theater for an ACTUAL cinematic experience" she wrote.
Shailene and Miles have been fiercely close for years, having starred in 2013's "The Spectacular Now" and 2014's "Divergent." Last year, they also vacationed together in Hawaii with their significant others – at the time, Shailene was dating Aaron Rodgers, whereas Miles has been married to Keleigh Sperry since 2019.
Kim Kardashian is pleading with the Bureau of Prisons to temporarily release a man whose daughter was killed in the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting last week .
Eliahana "Ellie" Cruz Torres was one of the 21 people killed (19 of which were elementary school children) after an 18-year-old entered Robb Elementary with an AR-15 and began firing. The girl's father, Eli Torres, is currently serving a 25-year sentence in Kentucky for drug trafficking, and he's desperate to attend his daughter's funeral.
A chorus of sympathizers have pushed for Eli's temporary release, arguing that he's a nonviolent offender. On Thursday, June 2, Kim joined the crowd, sharing a photo of 10-year-old Ellie on Twitter.
This is Eliahana 'Ellie' Cruz Torres, 10 years old, and one of the 19 victims of the shooting in Uvalde, TX. Her family are desperately hoping that her father, who is incarcerated for a non violent drug offense, be granted temporary release so that he can attend her funeral. pic.twitter.com/RJbSAo
