A video captured a 55-year-old woman being decapitated by an attacker who then threw her body into the street.
The attack occurred on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. local time in Shakopee, Minnesota. Video circulating online reportedly showed the woman, America Mafalda Thayer, being beheaded by a male attacker before he dumped her body on the road.
"We are aware that a bystander took a video of this incident," Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate told Bring Me the News, a Minnesota news website. "We have that video. It is deeply disturbing that the first instinct was to post that on social media."
Police found Thayer's head laying next to her body near a car, KMSP-TV reported. They then found a knife sheath in a nearby yard and a knife in a nearby alley trash can.
Soon after, police apprehended a 42-year-old man named Alexis Saborit on suspicion of second-degree murder. Police believe Saborit was in a long-term relationship with Thayer, and that this wasn't a random act of violence, WCCO-TV reported.
While Saborit is being held at the Scott County Jail, he hasn't been charged as of Thursday afternoon, according to the Scott County Attorney's Office. Court records revealed that Saborit was previously convicted of gross misdemeanor domestic assault. In U.S. law, gross misdemeanors are considered more serious than regular misdemeanor crimes.
Thayer was a Cuban immigrant who worked at the local Dollar Tree and MyPillow in Shakopee. Domestic abuse had been an ongoing problem between her and Saborit, a coworker told SW News Media.
Jamie Worley, a coworker friend of Thayer's said she was kind and soft-spoken.
"Went to the store and got her a rose and a teddy bear to put on her desk," Thayer said, narrating his day at MyPillow following Thayer's murder. "When I got there, I didn't even look at any other of my coworkers. I just stood at her desk with my head down. Everyone was just crying. It was a very emotional day and it still is."
The police department expressed its appreciation to the agencies who assisted with the murder and its investigation. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension helped investigate the crime scene. The police department also extended its condolences to Thayer's family.
Approximately one in four women and one in nine men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Nearly half of the women murdered in the U.S. from 2008 to 2018 were killed by a current or former intimate partner, The Washington Post wrote in a 2018 article. In an analysis of five cities, nearly a third of the male murderers were known to be a potential threat ahead of the attack.
Newsweek contacted the Shakopee Police Department for comment.

While the world is filled with great concern about the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, economic collapse, and the future US election, there are a lot of suffering people in many places. The people of Mexico have been suffering for a long time under the horrible yoke of drug cartels, whose violence is inhuman and are a major reason for people to attempt to migrate to the US, for they fear for their lives, their families’ lives, and they know they do not have a future in a place where such terrible things take place on a regular basis. According to Blog del Narco, a recent cartel video was released showing a woman who was slowly dismembered alive before she was beheaded.
The assassins of the CDS do not specify which criminal organization his victim belonged to, they only mention that he is part of “the counter” while indicating that this happened because he was “filthy” referring precisely to the fact that he is part of another criminal group. It was through social networks that hitmen from the CDS.
They released at least four videos where you can see all the massacre committed against the woman, because they decide to dismember her while she is still alive. It is important to indicate that the images are too strong and can hurt the sensitivity of some people, therefore we recommend discretion.
In the recordings, it can be seen how little by little assassins from the Sinaloa Cartel are killing the woman’s life and dismembering her, first it is observed how they remove her arms, later they cut her neck and thus continue with the other extremities.
In the videos published on social networks you can hear the woman’s screams of pain, while the Sinaloa Cartel hitmen do not show any kind of compassion for her and continue to dismember, without even giving her the opportunity to defend herself or run for her life, because it was tied.
So far, the victim has not been identified and his remains have not yet been located, however, due to the words spoken by the Sinaloa Cartel hitmen in the videos, it is speculated that he could be part of the CJNG, criminal groups that usually operate in the zone. (source)

This is why people migrate. If somebody had a chance to risk everything to come to the US if it meant getting away from these kinds of things, who would not take it while it was possible?

HORROR images show a woman being raped, whipped and beheaded to please a cheering mob after serving "forbidden fish" to rebel soldiers - who then drank her blood.
The stills are from a shocking clip of an execution in Luebo, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and show the naked victim being dragged into the the town's main square by a group claiming allegiance to the Kamuina Nsapu movement.
The stomach-churning video - which was filmed on April 8, 2017 but only emerged this week - is said to show the poor woman being punished after being accused of serving the food to rebel killers who visited her restaurant.
"They said she gave them beans that contained pieces of a small, local fish," a Luebo resident told France 24 .
"Convinced that she had broken their protection charms, the council of rebels sentenced both the woman and the son of her husband's second wife [the young man was also working there that day] to commit incest in public."
The rebel group have to refrain from having sex, washing themselves and eating meat, fish and other items while fighting, revealed Congolese researcher and consultant Anaclet Tshimbalanga.
In video of the woman's execution, the leader of the rebel group, Kalamba Kambangoma, is seen grabbing the woman by the hair before she is taken to the stage to be publicly raped.
Rebel leaders force the woman to have sex with the son of her husband's second wife, and another woman is seen whipping the pair with branches.
Following the public ordeal, rebels executed the woman and the young man, believed to be in his 20s, by beheading them with machetes.
Several rebels drank their blood after the execution, and some even posed with the young man's severed head, according to wtinesses.
The bodies remained on display for two days before they were moved to a local cemetery.
Tshimbalanga said the woman's death actually "goes completely contrary to local customs, which forbid both the death sentence and incest".
She told France 24: 'These cases of extreme violence are a result of drugs or, sometimes, of people getting caught up in the frenzy and excitement of bloodshed and war.'
The group of Kamuina Nsapu rebels seized Luebo, a town of 40,000, on March 31 and held it for 20 days until being ousted by the Congolese army on April 19.
During their reign, they killed about ten people, including two police officers and the wife of Luebo's administrator.
