BravoCast Privacy Policy

BravoCast Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 23, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how BravoCast ("the App"), an application for iPhone and iPad that allows users to discover, subscribe to, and listen to podcasts, processes users' personal data.

By using BravoCast, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The App does not require you to create its own user account and is not designed to track you for advertising purposes.

2. Data Controller

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is processed, you may contact us at the email address above.

3. What Data We Process (and What We Do Not)

Data We May Process

  • App content and listening preferences: podcast subscriptions, episode metadata (title, description, feed URL, publication dates, etc.), playback queue, listening status and progress, and app settings (such as downloads and language filters).
  • Files stored on your device: downloaded audio episodes and images (cover artwork) stored locally for offline use or caching purposes.
  • Data synchronized through iCloud (optional): if you are signed in to iCloud and synchronization is available, some of the data listed above may be synchronized across your devices using Apple's iCloud/CloudKit services.
  • Technical network data: when you use search, trending, feed updates, or downloads, the App sends network requests to the required services (see Section 6). These requests may include search queries and standard technical identifiers associated with Internet connections (such as the IP address visible to the destination server).

Data We Do Not Collect

BravoCast does not:

  • create or manage its own user accounts;
  • require your name, email address, phone number, or identity documents to use the App;
  • use advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs;
  • sell your personal data to third parties;
  • profile users for marketing purposes.

The App Privacy Manifest declares that tracking is disabled (NSPrivacyTracking = false).

4. Data Stored on Your Device

Your subscriptions, episodes, playback queue, and preferences are stored locally on your device (within the App's storage, including local databases and system settings such as UserDefaults).

Downloaded episodes and cached images remain on your device, subject to any storage limits you configure in the App's settings (where available).

You can delete this data by uninstalling the App or removing the App's data through the iOS/iPadOS settings.

5. iCloud and CloudKit

If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, BravoCast may use Apple's iCloud/CloudKit services to synchronize subscriptions, playback queues, and playback-related data across your devices.

Synchronization is provided solely to support the App's functionality and is not used for advertising purposes.

Apple processes iCloud data in accordance with its own Terms and Privacy Policy.

If iCloud is unavailable or you are not signed in, the App will continue to function using local storage only.

To stop synchronization or remove synchronized data, you can sign out of iCloud on your device, disable iCloud for the App (where supported by the operating system), delete the App's data, or manage your iCloud storage through Apple's settings.

6. Third-Party Services and Content

To provide its core functionality, BravoCast communicates with third-party services.

Podcast Index

The App uses the Podcast Index API for podcast search, trending, and discovery. Search queries and other requests required for these features are sent to Podcast Index.

For more information about how Podcast Index processes data, please refer to their documentation and privacy policy: https://podcastindex.org.

RSS Feeds and Content Hosts

When you subscribe to a podcast or stream/download an episode, the App contacts the servers operated by podcast publishers or hosting providers that deliver RSS feeds, audio files, and artwork.

These providers act as independent data controllers (or processors, where applicable) for the network requests they receive, which may include information such as your IP address, User-Agent, and requested URLs.

Some RSS feeds or audio files may be delivered over unencrypted HTTP connections, depending on how the publisher makes the content available.

BravoCast does not control the privacy practices of individual podcast publishers or hosting providers. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies whenever available.

Apple

In addition to iCloud/CloudKit, the operating system and the App Store are provided by Apple. Your use of your device and the App Store is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

We process the data described above in order to:

  • provide the App's features, including podcast discovery, subscriptions, playback, queues, downloads, and synchronization;
  • ensure the App functions correctly from a technical perspective, including caching, preferences, and continuous playback (including background playback).

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") applies, the legal bases for processing are:

  • Performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), to provide the services you request;
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), to ensure the technical operation and security of the App and the communications necessary for its functionality, in a proportionate manner and without advertising-related profiling.

8. Data Retention

  • On your device: data is retained until you delete it, uninstall the App, or remove the App's data.
  • In iCloud: data is retained according to Apple's settings and retention policies for as long as it remains associated with your iCloud account.
  • By third parties (Podcast Index, RSS/media hosts): data is retained according to their respective policies. BravoCast does not operate its own servers for collecting user analytics.

9. Your Rights

Where the GDPR or other applicable laws apply, you may exercise the following rights, subject to applicable legal limitations:

  • access;
  • rectification;
  • erasure;
  • restriction of processing;
  • objection;
  • data portability, where applicable.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Much of your data exists only on your device or in your iCloud account. You can view or remove this data directly through the App, your device settings, or by uninstalling the App.

For requests relating to processing carried out by the Data Controller, please contact:

Email: field-met4m@icloud.com

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your competent data protection authority (for example, in Italy, the Italian Data Protection Authority).

10. Children

BravoCast is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children.

Podcast content is published by third parties and may not be suitable for all audiences. Responsibility for the content being accessed rests with the user and, in the case of minors, with their parent or legal guardian.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable laws.

The effective date appears at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

Where reasonable and practicable, we will notify users of material changes through appropriate means, such as updating the public policy page or providing information through the App Store.
