In "The Boy Next Door," Jennifer Lopez plays a recently separated mom who has a passionate tryst with her young neighbor (he's "almost 20"). Yes, it's a total lapse of judgement, and said teenaged neighbor definitely has more than a few screws loose in his beautiful head, but sometimes, a mom deserves to get some.
Claire isn't the first thirsty mom to grace the big and small screens. In fact, moms having affairs with significantly younger men is a celebrated trope -- one that deserves a bit of a retrospective.
Mrs. Robinson and Ben, "The Graduate"
Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft) is the OG thirsty mom. Stuck in loveless marriage, she seduces 20-year-old Ben (Dustin Hoffman) and basically turns him into her own personal sex slave. And when Ben falls in love with her daughter Elaine, she tries to thwart their relationship because if she's miserable, everyone has to be.
Jeanine Stifler (aka Stifler's mom) and Paul Finch, "American Pie"
Stifler's mom (Jennifer Coolidge) is the inspiration behind the phrase M.I.L.F. Every male student at East Great Falls High has had a least one sexual fantasy starring the buxom beauty, but it's uber-nerd Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) who actually gets to bang Stifler's mom -- much to the chagrin of Finch's frenemy, and Jeanine's son, Steve (Seann William Scott) -- and thereby lose his virginity.
Connie (Diane Lane) and her husband (Richard Gere) have a solid, yet boring relationship. Her world is turned upside down when she meets a handsome younger man (Oliver Martinez) on the street. Connie and Paul's passionate affair begins with a painful meet-cute and ends with murder. The weapon? A snowglobe. The thirst has its consequences.
Julie Cooper and Luke Ward, "The O.C."
After being dumped by her old, rich beau Caleb Nichol, H.B.I.C. Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke) starts an affair with Luke (Chris Carmack), her daughter's teenaged ex-boyfriend. He's lonely, she's horny (and perhaps also lonely), and the rest is "O.C." history.
Deb Lee and Skills, "One Tree Hill"
Technically, Skills (Antwon Tanner) is no longer a teenager when he and Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) begin dating in season six, but seeing as she knew Skills when he was a teen -- and good friends with her son Nathan (James Lafferty) -- their relationship is all kinds of awkward.
Ashley Marin and Jason DiLaurentis, "Pretty Little Liars"
Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton), Rosewood's coolest mom, finally gets some action this season on "Pretty Little Liars" when she hooks up with her young boss -- and her daughter's former best friend's brother -- Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker). Mrs. Marin and Jason share a steamy kiss, and the subsequent hookup is still shrouded in mystery -- just how we like things in Rosewood.

In one scene when they're trying to catch the parakeet, it's resting on a branch just outside the diner. It was originally planned that they would try to sneak up on it to catch it. But it unexpectedly flew at Kevin and landed on his shoulder after he dropped to the ground. They had wranglers training the bird, but it was never supposed to do this. In the audio commentary, Kevin Downes said "I had no idea the bird was going to come after me......I'm going down to protect my eye cause I think the bird is coming at my eye". They decided that this was funnier than trying to sneak up on it, so they left it this way.
Sondra is shown as having a numb face and difficulty speaking after being shot with a Taser. Neither of these things happen when a Taser is used on someone.
Kevin: Okay, So here's the Plan... We take them inside, get their hand stamped and they can't get out. Like Shawshank Redemption.
"Mama" was not harmed in the making of this movie.

Better Writing And Better Editing Might Have Made This A Good Film
I'll start right out by saying that the role of Allyson played by Sarah Drew almost made us walk out of the picture after about the first fifteen minutes. Written and performed as a whining, woe-is-me character to the point where you just want to reach In and smack her, it was almost more than we could bear. What it all boiled down to was a pathetic 'mom' wallowing around in self-pity and a passel of kids desperately in need of discipline. Doesn't anyone actually look at these films before they are released and say to themselves, in this case, "This is way too irritating to sit and watch."? If not, they should. However, as it turned out, the role of Bones played by Trace Adkins was worth sticking around to see. He was terrific. In fact, he made the movie. Patricia Heaton as Sondra was also pretty good. Sean Astin was so lovable as Sam Gamgee in The Hobbit, and he's lovable this time around, too. But there really isn't much for him to work with here. All in all, it was beyond refreshing to see a picture without all the gratuitous foul language, scummy behavior and in your face sex that far too many movies throw at us anymore in place of decent writing, but this picture could also have used some better writing – and editing. Bottom line, I've seen worse movies – but I've also seen a ton of better ones.
