Dirty Grandpa is a comedy film directed by Dan Mazer and written by John Philips. The film stars Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Zoey Deutch and Aubrey Plaza. After Jason's grandmother dies and just before his marriage, his grandfather asks him to go on a road trip to Daytona Beach, Fla., and there's where Jason learns a couple of lessons from his "dirty grandpa". I found this movie really funny most of the time and I couldn't stop laughing at a lot of the jokes. I suppose that a lot of these negative reviews for this movie are from people who think that this movie is against their "morals". But it doesn't really matter, cause Dirty Grandpa has been a box office success and a lot of people liked it, including me. Zac Efron is really funny, he has shown that he's got comedic guts over and over again. I am becoming a fan of as I keep on seeing him in these kind of movies . Robert De Niro is also awesome on the role all throughout. I also really liked the supporting characters, especially Jason Mantzoukas as a drug dealer who had me laughing every time he was on screen. Sure this movie isn't nowhere near a comedic masterpiece and nor is it trying to be. It is a fun ride from beginning to end, and despite all the clichés, the jokes are what make this ride worth it.
Aubrey Plaza has said that she accepted the role of Lenore because it was different from the characters she usually played, and because she wanted to engage in physical comedy.
Cousin Nick: Fuckin' sucks dick about grandma, huh? Old woman fuckin' murdered like that.
Jason Kelly: I think she had cancer.
Cousin Nick: We'll never know the truth.
Jason Kelly: We absolutely know the truth. Grandma had cancer for ten years.
Cousin Nick: You don't just die from cancer, Jason.
Lenore claims that they are late to Daytona Beach because their car broke down in Orlando. This makes no sense-they were coming from Georgia, and Orlando is south(west) of Daytona Beach.
After the first few credits, there is a scene with the family at a baptism.

So it's come to this. The title says all you need to know about this faintly embarrassing Robert De Niro comedy
In his seventy-third year, Robert De Niro is clearly relishing the fact that he’s got nothing left to prove. Why else put himself through shameless trash like this? He plays Dick, a just-widowed, super-horny pensioner with Special Forces training who embarks on an odd-couple Florida road-trip with his uptight lawyer grandson Jason (Zac Efron). Jason just wants to drive the old boy safely to his holiday home, but grandpa’s out to – and I’m quoting here – ‘fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck’.
You know that subtlety is not on the film’s agenda when ‘Dirty Grandpa’ opens with the sight of His Venerable Bobness spanking the monkey to a porno. And however much he goes hell for leather with the filthy dialogue, it’s hard not to feel that De Niro is – surely? – better than this. He’s game, though; so to is Efron, whose romantic subplot is a snore. There are laughs, but they’re tinged with the sadness of watching a beloved elderly relative making a bloody old fool of himself.
