Boss The Scent Pure Accord For Him News
I won’t be one to bash this, but I won’t sing it’s praises!
Nice smell, just wish it had lasting power. This goes straight to skin scent on me.
There seems to be a few on FRAGRANTICA with much better results. Good on them! I wish I could say the same.
Hugo Boss has released so many flankers in 'The Scent' line that it's starting to get confusing. It seems like they are constantly tinkering but can never really find a composition they are satisfied with.
The effervescent ginger note combined with the Maninka reminds me a lot of Coca-Cola on the opening. It's pleasant and refreshing, a bit soapy, but to be honest it feels a bit like a CK scent. It doesn't really scream high quality or class or sophistication to me. It's hard to be offended by it...but at the same time it's really not very impressive either.
I'd say it leans to a younger crowd and it's more of a casual outdoor summertime scent. Performance is sub-par.
The 3.44 rating is a joke, this is a very pleasant fragrance with descent performance.
Hugo Boss The Scent Pure Accord - from The Scent line the best for me. It´s fruity, spicy and fresh.
Scent: 7/10
Longevity: 5/10
Sillage: 5/10
Bottle: 6.5/10
Value for money: 7/10
A reasonable all season fragrance, with ok performance, but nothing too much to shout about. I expected it to be better.
I don't get the hate. Even if I almost always agree with Ashton from Gents Scents, this time he trashed it absolutely unnecessarily. Yes, it is quite simple, but still very nice ginger maninka combo, good for common summer days at the office. Fresher take on the OG The Scent. Medium performance, but you don't want to choke anybody at work, do you? Not that bad.
I bought this one because I onky recently discovered it existed. I came across it on eBay at £35/$50 for 100ml and at first it was a fake. Once I read the reviews here and bought it at once to complete the line. When it arrived i opened it up immediately and had ny first blast. Wow, I was really impressed with the opening and the whole performance throughout! It's no beast but an excellent and unique addition to the line! I can see this becoming a favourite in the line next to Private Accord!
Those who criticise this may call themselves "The Experts" know squat! Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions but to be critical in a negative way are no experts but mere impressionists who pretend they know what they are talking about but many are just parroting others!
In my "opinion" this is a 7.5-8.0 out of 10👍❤️!
The hate this gets is so unwarranted. I saw a few YT reviews and one reviewer called this trash. I guess my expectations were set so low that when I tried it for myself in a department store I was stunned. Didn't blow me away persee. However I was expecting it to be terrible and was quite surprised that I really liked it. Truth be told the only opinion that matters is your own. This is like a cologne version of the original blend. Very bright. Opens up with a crisp ginger and citrus without abandoning the maninka fruit from the signature dna. It's very pleasant. There are no sea salt or marine notes listed but I get a slight salty seawater type vibe making this a semi aquatic to my nose. Almost like a warm sea mist. I also pick up a bit of the suede nuances in the base. I liked it so much I went ahead and ordered myself a full bottle. In my opinion this flanker is right up there with Absolute and Private Accord being my favorite flankers of The Scent Line. Cheers
Disregarding what others may have said, I smelled this scent in a Douglas shop and it was so pleasant I just had to have it. I compared it with a bunch of other fragrances but it seemed so soothing and special in a way... I went online to find more about it and was surprised by how much hate revolves around it.
Everyone have their reasons, this was the first fragrance from The Scent line that I smelled and I wouldn't change anything about it. I can't yet give a feedback since I bought it in winter and was waiting for the warmer days to wear it. On paper though I could smell it for hours and hours... if half of that time will project on me I'll be insanely happy. I just think it's a gorgeous scent. If you love The One from D&G and willing to tolerate the unremarkable performance, why wouldn't you feel the same for this one too? I don't understand.
This is a very good release in the Scent line. Main player is a very nice strong ginger mixed with some sparkling bitter citrus in the opening - lime or lemon.
Mid - the fruity maninka and white suede grab a chair and join the gang and that's it for the remainder of the life of the scent.
A lighter, fresher scent and the maninka doesn't totally dominate here like it does in the original. It's blended really well.
If Hugo Boss were to release Boss The Scent Summer Edition - then this would be it.
8/10
I've had it since release and it's really nice, it's a shame that some communities don't see the joy in a release like this, it's a nice deviation from the classic scent dna, its there but it's very uplifting, almost sparkling in a way ...but it's still just really really nice. I absolutely love it, it has it's place especially since I love the whole scent line. Again sometimes you just want to smell good with a release like this, again a shame that there are so many fragrance snobs that will bash a release like this to where it can't even get off the ground.
In a nutshell...
Takes / took a bit too much heat amongst "the community"... It's an enjoyable, pleasant, fresher option in The Scent line-up. This does not compare to the heavy hitters in the line (Private Accord, Absolute and the Parfum for some..), but its still a servicable release. Performance is actually a bit better then I expected, based on reviews. But still nothing to write home about...
If you have the original, don't bother. Fresh opening and then smells the same as the original.
Pleasant and fresh scent. I like it. Nothing ground breaking, but very pleasant, fresh and modern.
Soft soft scent, totally different from the scent absolute and intense, and more faithful to the original. I find it too faint and, unlike those two flankers, cannot smell any ginger, suede maybe.
Tested it on skin and i like it, i find this more satisfying than the other "the scents" probably cause this one smells younger and Im a younger guy, though it lacks a little in the freshness hugo boss was talking about a little too sweet maybe but its good, longevity is very solid and it could be used as a day scent overall rating 7/10
Tested it today. The most prominent notes are spicy ginger and sweet, round (as in not sour) lemon. If you need a reference point to have at least some idea how this smells I'd say it's similar to Gucci Guilty - it has that soft, light, almost floral woodiness.
It's quite a nice fragrance, would make a good office fragrance. It's nothing groundbreaking though, I would wait until it becomes discounted.
Presentation:
This fragrance is advertised as a spicier / fresher flanker to the original The Scent. The bottle matches this vibe because the packaging as well as the liquid are lighter than the original. The design of the bottle is identical to the original, namely a cylinder with transparent surfaces on the side. Although the design looks premium, I would like to mention that the closing cap feels cheaper than with other brands, opening and closing does not feel satisfying and is too rough in my opinion.
The smell:
The opening of the fragrance seemed familiar to me when I first smelled it, as if I had noticed it on others before. Of course, this could be that they were actually wearing this scent, but I suspect it's because the opening is more mass-appealing than unique. I was surprised by a sweet ginger note that reminded me of children's champagne. A children's champagne on a cozy Christmas Eve. The underlying middle note of Maninka plays a part in causing this sweetish scent. The fruit quickly develops around the spicy ginger and these two together form a playful scent for the first 15 minutes, which can be labeled as unisex. After this time frame, the ginger fades into the background and the scent white suede takes over. White suede smells fresh leathery. The scent suddenly becomes more masculine and clean with a hint of a fruity treat. He reminds me of a well-groomed adult father. This fragrance stays on my skin mildly for about 2 hours and then turns into a skin scent for about 3 more hours. Overall a pleasant scent that becomes softer, more pleasant over time.
Recommendation:
The ideal man for this eau de toilette is, in my view, a sweet and caring person. Not someone who plays the boss, but rather keeps everyone happy. Everyone likes him, but he will never be the center of attention. That's how I think about this Hugo Boss fragrance: pleasant, not overpowering, mass-appealing.
Rating:
I therefore give this fragrance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars out of 5, because I don't think many people don't like it smelling.
The is a softer, cleaner presention compared with other Hugo Boss' Accord perfumes.
Opens with a gentle, almost powdery ginger with just a hint of maninka and citrus peel. Develops into a very soft, transparent spice in the heart. This is by no means a maninka bomb or cacao/coffee gourmand like the other Accord perfumes. The scent is scaffolded by a light and leathery musk.
The smell of Pure Accord is fresher and more unisex compared with previous Accord iterations, and would be rather suited to day time wear. This is a cleaner, 'white', more subtle take on the Accord DNA which is in tune with the general direction designer perfumes seem to be taking in this decade.
Overall, Pure Accord is an interesting addition to the Accord line. Perhaps too clean and polite for my own preference. But worth a smell at least.
I tried this yesterday.
It may not be the most unique fragrance in the world, but it is just beautiful. One of the most balanced and lovely scents I've found in a very long time. A great daytime fragrance.
I like to describe the strength and presence of a scent in wine terms. For example: PR 1 million is, to me, a Californian Zinfandel or Australian Shiraz. It's a massive hitter, and though lovely, it's a long way from subtle and balanced. This one... This is Veuve Clicquot. It's light, beautiful, and makes me smile.
It lasts for hours and hours on my skin, which is great. As I get further into my thirties, aggressive projection is less important to me.
Shorts, white shirt, boat shoes, and a sunny afternoon would be a great setting for this fragrance.
Tested today. It's a summer take on Private Accord. The opening is really captivating, juicy citrus and fresh ginger with sweet maninka. Good projection for one hour, then becomes a coazy warm spicy suede scent, like taking a night walk at the seaside with a white shirt and comfy moccasins. I think it will quickly become a solid release like Private Accord.

While not many have reviewed this scent, it has a high thumbs up rating ratio so I'm giving this scent a neutral as it is a nice fruity/cocoa fragrance but isn't really worth the full retail price.
Lasts about 6 hours on my skin.
A nicer cocoa fragrance I've purchased is Dior Homme Intense and from what I remember, a nice cocoa based fragrance that I've tried is Angel Men.
From my initial experiences in a trendy location, this fragrance did not turn any heads. I had better experiences wearing Benetton EDTs' that
