While english breakfast is great, pancake was just a little, can be improved. There is also yogurt, fruit and juice.. Some staff was friendly. Amazing little jungle area around cabana We saw monkeys, lizards, birds etc. Simple, but comfortable cabana. Very helpful staff. Delicious food in the restaurant. The bungalow was cute and comfortable, with a very nice big bed. The garden is nice and peaceful and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy road. The garden is lovely! The bungalows were clean and well mantained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a very good time in Kahuna. Local manager was great. Central location close to beach and at the same time very quiet and relaxing hotel area and garden. Perfect breakfast and service served on outdoor terrace. Nice rooms and huge terrace and great common room for the triple and double rooms above the reception. Bathrooms were fine but would benefit from a small renovation. The garden and also the lobby looked really nice and breakfast was delicious. The room was big and you found everything you need. Only the bathroom would need a little renovation. If you take a shower the water stays at the floor and the tap should be renewed. But its a budget room so thats ok. We got everything we nedded. The guys at this place were hospitable, nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would come again. Quiet shady area with heaps of cool areas to chill out. Including hammocks. Rooms were comfy and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Good central location. Pretty garden to relax with some hammocks. The staff was outstanding, friendly, professional, kind and attentiv. The breakfast was delicious and had some varieties to choose from. Nice fresh fruits and juices. Everything was kept clean. Bedsheets clean, good mosquitonet. Less then a 5minutes walk to the beach. Many cafes and Restaurants around. Shower: Water pressure in bathroom was so poor. Having shower and washing your hair was too difficult. I had to rinse my hair under tap water even after they changed something in the bathroom. Other issue that, breakfast starts at 8 am and it made things difficult for us while diving because we had to be at diving school at 8. Once, they accepted to make the breakfast ready at 7. One of the staff was rude while others were more friendly and helpful. They need to be more flexible for breakfast times if there is a need. Great garden, good location, big room, good breakfast. I had booked the budget room in the main building, upon arrival I was upgraded free of charge to one of the small bungalows in the garden. The staff are excellent, the breakfast was great and the location was perfect for us. Cold water and bad wifi in the rooms. The localisation near the bus station and the beach , the room was so nice and confortable! Very scenic garden, beautiful bungalows and delicious breakfast! We were offered a VERY rich breakfast. We had two rooms for four nights in high Christmas season which meant a big but fair bill. So time consuming and expensive. Have stayed in more than 15 hotels in Sri Lanka and several with significant lower standards than Kahuna but all accepted credit cards. Superb place. The chalet was really near by other chalets, so you could hear literally everything. Also there was building behind the Chalet where the water was licking every night. One night it woke me up at 4 am. Also, there was no frige or any equipment in the Chalet - not even one glass. Very basic chalet. Towels were not changed in 4 days. The staff and the owner didnt care to much if we had any type of the request. Location is pretty ok, even on booking maps, it looked like its on the beach, no it takes mins walk. Kahuna has many small houses, where you can stay, but we took the cheaper way and stayed at a budget room there. Very bad staff and management, waited 1 hour to check in the hotel. Just near beach. The bathrooms was looking gross because of brown old stains in the toilet and the sink deep scrub and chemical cleaning necessary! The door of the Chalet had a hole and in general the whole room was open no closed walls so everything could crawl inside. The mosquito net had holes some other guests had Dengue fever Small things need to be fixed like door knobs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice garden and hammocks to hang out. Breakfast was good except for the coffee which tasted like water. The bathroom was dirty and got flooded Everytime you shower There was only 1 socket in the whole room WiFi was really slow like everywhere in SL.
