As Della Grace/Del LaGrace Volcano they have produced five photographic monographs: Love Bites , 1991, an exploration of lesbian sex culture. Sex Works , 2005, (afterword by Beatriz Preciado) which examines the history of sexuality of queer scenes and Femmes of Power , 2008, (with Dr. Ulrika Dahl), the first photographic monograph that celebrates queer and alternative expressions of femininity in the USA and Europe.
The Passionate Spectator , is a short film about the perils and pleasures of modern life inspired by a poem from The Painter of Modern Life by Charles Baudelaire and the life of an authentic and very queer flaneur, Brixton Brady. Shot entirely on Super 8 this experimental experiential film effortlessly crosses and interrogates the notion that urban space is a masculine entitlement. “The crowd is his element. As the air is that of birds and water of fishes. His passion and profession are to become one flesh with the crowd. For the flaneur, for the passionate spectator, it is an immense joy to set up house in the heart of the multitude. Amongst the ebb and flow of movement, in the midst of the fugitive and indefinite. To be away from home and yet to feel oneself everywhere at home. To see the world, to be at the centre of the world. And yet to remain hidden from the world. Impartial natures which the tongue can but clumsily define.” (from The Painter of Modern Life by Charles Baudelaire, originally published 1863)

My Gay Sister became a big international success and won the prestigious TEDDY Award at Berlinale, worlds biggest queer film award. Always Amber is her first feature film.
Hannah Reinikainen was born 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden. She has been studying journalism at the University of Stockholm and documentary filmmaking at Biskops-Arnö. Since her studies she has been working at the production company Story, in roles including director’s assistant and editor on Shapeshifters (2017) by Sophie Vuković. She has also directed two short films. Always Amber is her first feature film.
Seventeen-year-old Amber and best friend Sebastian refuse to let society label their gender. Moving through a spectrum of fluid identities, they dream together, party together, and form friendships with likeminded people. The queer teenagers inhabit an open and loving world far away from the judging eyes of others, in which everything seems possible. But when Amber falls in love with Charlie, their utopian world is shaken to its core. Trust issues begin to emerge, and in the midst of it all, Amber has to face going through their transition alone.
