'If you're hearing this, I'm already dead—or rich. Honestly, it's a coin flip at this point.'

The recording crackles, the voice distorted by static and what sounds like a lot of gunfire in the background.

'The plan was simple: break into Hyperion’s most secure vault, steal the Eridian Key, and sell it to the highest bidder. No crew, no witnesses, no loose ends. But you know how it goes on Pandora—someone always talks.'

A heavy sigh.

'So here’s what really happened…'

Act 1: The Crew

Location: The Dust, Pandora – Two Weeks Earlier

The sun blazed overhead as four criminals sat in a dimly lit saloon, nursing drinks and grudges.

'Doc' Holliday – A disgraced ex-Hyperion scientist with a cybernetic arm and a price on her head. She knew the vault’s security inside and out.

Rust 'Six-Fingers' Marlow – A grizzled bandit with a reputation for surviving impossible odds (and losing a finger for every near-death experience).

'Silk' Rivera – A con artist and former Crimson Raider who could talk her way out of anything—or into anywhere.

'Grim' Jakobs – A mute assassin with a penchant for overkill. Nobody knew who he worked for, and nobody was dumb enough to ask.

They were all there for one reason: The Eridian Key, a relic rumored to unlock a Vault even the Corporations hadn’t found yet.

Doc slid a holoprojector onto the table. A blueprints of Hyperion’s Blacksite-9 flickered to life.

'This is where they’re keeping it. Impenetrable. Unless…'

Silk smirked. 'Unless we make them want to open it for us.'

Act 2: The Setup

Plan: Infiltrate. Sabotage. Escape.

Silk posed as a Hyperion auditor, using forged credentials to get inside.

Doc hacked the security grid, creating a blind spot just long enough for Grim to slip in.

Six-Fingers caused a very loud distraction outside—blowing up a convoy of loaded Maliwan trucks.

Everything went smooth… until it didn’t.

Act 3: The Betrayal

The vault door hissed open. Inside, the Eridian Key pulsed with eerie energy.

Then the alarms blared.

'We’ve got company,' Grim signed.

Hyperion enforcers flooded the room. But worse? So did a rival crew.

'Well, well. Looks like we had the same idea,' drawled Vex 'The Spider' Kaller, a notorious mercenary with a personal grudge against Six-Fingers.

Gunfire erupted. Explosions rocked the facility.

Doc grabbed the Key. 'Time to go!'

But as they fled, Silk hesitated—then pulled a gun on Doc.

'Sorry, sweetheart. The bid just got higher.'

Act 4: The Fallout

The recording cuts in and out.

'Grim’s dead. Six-Fingers is missing. And Silk? She sold us out to the Children of the Vault.'

A distant explosion.

'If you’re hearing this… don’t trust anyone. And if you find the Key—

The tape cuts to static.

Epilogue: The Aftermath

Rumors spread across the Borderlands:

A mysterious buyer is auctioning the Eridian Key on Promethea.

Hyperion has placed a bounty on Silk’s head.

And somewhere in the wastes, Six-Fingers is still breathing—and he wants revenge.

The Vault awaits. But so does the bloodshed.
