/r/Twitch is an unofficial place for discussions surrounding the streaming website Twitch.tv. If you want to provide feedback, ask a question or show some quality content, this is the place for you!
I woke up this morning to my twitter feed blowing up about how somebody threw a fit about girls that stream only gaining viewers because, you know, boobs.
Now, please understand that i'm a really really really small-time streamer at this point. I have about 12 followers, maybe 3-5 people watching at any given time, so at first I didn't really give much thought to the impact of that idea....
But here's the thing that i've realized.... when streaming, I have actually been conscious enough of my appearance that i've asked my husband 'hey, does this show off too much cleavage for me to wear tonight?' (his answer is always 'not enough', lol, LOVE YOU!) and that the handful of folks that pop into chat are asking to see more of my tattoos (i'm okay with this) and, hey, while i'm at it, how about a little nip-slip, or they want to let me know that fapping is about to commence (uh, okay, i guess?)
So the question is, what's the balance between wearing something i'm comfortable in (it's hot where i live and tank tops are the best) and still being taken seriously -- and eff it, why is this even still a question or issue??
I've never had someone announce the commencement of fapping in my channel, however being of the male variety, it embarrasses me that we can be so disgusting merely because a member of the opposite sex is being displayed on our monitors.
Without a doubt a lot of popular female streamers have gotten where they are because of cleavage ( or too much of it I should say). I like all men of course like boobs, but I respect female streamers who actually put a lot of time and effort into interacting with their stream and not just showing some flesh.
The thing is, a lot of these female streamers deny they use it to their advantage, but it is clear they do it.
Sadly there is no balance so to speak, the important thing is that you feel comfy and enjoy streaming, however you do it.
Let me start off by saying, wear what you want. As long as you are comfortable with it don't stop doing it because of people on the internet.
However, there is one thing I don't understand. I have read multiple posts on this subreddit where other ladies discuss similar problems, like: "how about a little nip-slip, or they want to let me know that fapping is about to commence". I know that people like this exist--I have encountered them myself. However, as someone that normally is in the range of 80-120 concurrents, I don't see how you are having this pronounced of an issue so early into your stream.
There are entire weeks where I will not encounter anyone that says ANYTHING remotely sexual, and mind you, I joke around and I am not a super proper 'lady'. I guess my question, not necessarily towards OP but anyone else that encounters this is: What causes it? What game are you playing? What did you title your stream?
The one time I recall having the most trolls is when I was playing Tomb Raider and titled the stream 'Boobraider' Expected. My regulars were getting a kick out of it, and so I did it because they are a great bunch of people that knew we JOKE. We got maybe 5 that night. Maybe. And with a title like that, I was asking for it.
I guess my question is, as I said, why is this happening to you guys. I think it's a valid thing to want to know, since it allows both you and the rest of us to come up with solutions to help it not happen. I don't think it's an issue of cleavage only, because most times I wear what I want, cleavage or not. So there has to be more to it.
I guess my question, not necessarily towards OP but anyone else that encounters this is: What causes it? What game are you playing? What did you title your stream?
The blame for this kind of behavior rests on the harasser, not the streamer. Unless you title your stream "Please sexually harass me", you are not asking for it. Whether you're playing Minecraft or GTA V, you're going to get harassed. Whether your stream is titled "Boobraider" or "I like kittens", you're going to get harassed. It's the unfortunate reality of being a woman streaming on Twitch. Get some good moderators who can timeout/ban these kinds of trolls quickly. Don't blame yourself--it's the troll doing the harassing that is the one to blame here.
I'm not sure -- maybe because mine is such a small stream there isn't as much accountability there, or people to go 'dude (or lady), the rest of the internet is out there for that' -- I stream my guild's WoW raid progression and Heroes of the Storm matches so far, so nothing too off the wall either.
Maybe it just feels pronounced. - I dunno....
Generally i found it to be pretty amusing. I mean, i'm married, I play video games with a bunch of dudes, you learn to be able to dish out as good as you get. One of my favorite things to do is poke fun at one of my teammates that his toon is always nekkid around me. My husband and our ele shaman have a beautiful bro-mance going that i encourage.
The thing that just struck me about the whole situation is 1. how surreal it was because hey, internet bravery is real and 2. how angry the original comments that sparked the twitter explosion were about how these girls should be ashamed of themselves.
I think it becomes obvious when you are flaunting your teets. It is a bit annoying when a streamer makes it a "cam show" but whatever. We all have our advantages and disadvantages. Personality usually wins out I would hope.
I agree to what else has been said: Wear what you want (RoC/TOS respected of course) as long as you can deal with the trolls and the creepy guys go for it.
My opinion for those cleavage girls has changed to the point where I've stopped bothering on fighting it. Something will be done; which could be people grow tired of the masses of land being shown(which we know won't happen), stricter rules(or stricter reigns on those girls that "accidentally" crosses the line a lot of the time) or everyone finally accepts it - like booth babes at conventions.
I report all girls who show off their breasts on twitch, even the slightest bit. And ask everyone else I know to do the same. I don't need that shit on a gaming website. Stick to playing games. Also this, from twitch TOS:
"Dress...appropriately Nerds are sexy, and you're all magnificent, beautiful creatures, but let's try and keep this about the games, shall we? "

imagine actually giving a fuck about this....

If most guy weren't neck beards flurries and everything else that's pathetic stupid and desperate. This animal abusing whore wouldn't have been heard of.

OMG!! Ali its is a man? I did not know that. That pathetic thing does not qualify as at tit!

She lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is a local Indian girl from a reserve(not a green card citizen from wherever she claims). Trust me, im from the same province as her and I know what natives with a lot makup look like lol.

It wasn't that dark. It was actually not a bad color. 4 stars.

It turns out that Ilovemycat is actually nine years old.

Twitch? What's a twitch and why should I care?

Twitch, the world's leading live streaming platform for gamers, has a reputation of letting their highest female streamers get off the hook when they break a Twitch rule. Especially in regards to one streamer named Alinity.
Alinity has had multiple scandals in her Twitch career. Most notably and probably most deserving of a permanent ban is how she treats her cat.
This wasn't the only issue, she also fed her cat vodka
Twitch definitely banned her right? Wrong. Alinty took a week off herself and faced more punishment from the community than she did from Twitch. You'd think that a service that wants to keep its' reputation would at least ban her for at least a little bit. Nope.
It's become a bit of a meme that perhaps Twitch staff is getting some sort of "compensation" in exchange for keeping her channel in good standing.
Recently, Alinity has had another scandal where she accidentally flashed her nipple on stream. It's possible that this was an accident but judge it for yourself.
Twitch actually did respond this time, banning her but for a mere 24 hours. The normal suspension for this type of TOS violation would be 3 days but Alinity gets special treatment once again.
In defense of Alinity, she actually handled this situation very maturely and better than Twitch. She's self-imposed a longer ban on herself and is trying to get Twitch's ban longer on her channel. She was even excited when she got the 24hr ban.
I'm getting a suspension YES! Our hard work finally paid off good job guys pic.twitter.com/dNomMydQ8E
What's to make of all of this? Do you think Twitch should impose harsher punishment on Alinity for her many scandals or should she have a free pass because she's pretty?

5 Twitch Streamers Banned for Flashing Viewers (Updated)
These ladies were banned off of Twitch after showing off more than was allowed.

That box behind Roxicett says Evermax on it. I looked it up out of curiosity. It's a male enhancement supplement. I wonder if this is some sort of promotional placement?

If we're talking about banned from streaming services...I mean...DSP's gotta be near the top of that pile.

Twitch is probably one of the most useful websites available for those interested in watching other people play video games completely live. A lot of people have made a killing by simply streaming their live gameplay and offering a winning personality for viewers to really get behind. Of course, this platform has also allowed a lot of women with, ahem, large assets to get behind the camera and win over the hearts and minds of fans in the gaming community.
These individuals tend to leverage their "talents," so to speak, in an effort to gain monetary rewards in the form of donations from stream viewers. This, of course, goes against the terms and conditions of the Twitch website, which means the ban hammer comes down without second thought. Here are the 5 most well-known Twitch streamers to get banned for flashing their viewers.
The bans, slips, nips and more just keep happening.
In what can only be described as "dancing" (SFW, but horrible dancing) STPeach danced her way to a YouTube video (not a game) and a ban. In a not so veiled attempt to gain internet fame and cold hard cash. While I'm sure the viewers like the shorts, Twitch sort of frowns on this sort of thing. STPeach has made no communications on Twitter about the length of the ban.
Lea May, who goes by the name LegendaryLea in-game and on stream, was one of the most recently banned women from Twitch. The streaming platform gave her a 30-day ban after her most recent incident, which is actually not the first time it has happened on her live show.
Basically, the young woman ended up revealing some NSFW moments completely live to her viewers. She claims she did not know the camera was still on, but after witnessing the footage, it is pretty clear what her intentions were at the time. LegendaryLea basically made a show out of showing off her private goods to the camera.
Before this, she was called out by viewers and other streamers for basically stating children with cancer should just die. She was drunk when she made the horrendous comment, but that is obviously no excuse for the live behavior.
BrittanyVenti is a cringe-inducing streamer who ensures the vast majority of her boob cleavage is front and center for the viewers. Yet this young woman managed to receive thousands in donations from thirsty guys (and maybe some gals too).
Twitch gave her a 30-day ban after she was reported for sexual behavior, including showing too much cleavage. The first time she was banned was for receiving a lap dance within the strip club in Grand Theft Auto V . To be fair, that ban was a bit ridiculous, but she may have deserved the most recent.
She regularly takes part in questionable behavior, including propositioning her fans to become her sugar daddy. She has also asked how large some viewers penises are, which as we all know is highly inappropriate.
In the end, she deserved the ban she received.
Pink Sparkles, a known female streamer, was banned from Twitch after showing off her cleavage and performing a little lap dance for her viewers. The young woman is known for receiving high donations for showing off what God gave her. Her booty shaking video ensured Twitch brought the ban hammer down on her. Sparkles is also oddly known for painting her nose with a black heart.
Her ban came directly in the middle of a stream, which was quite funny to witness. For receiving 1,000 viewers, Sparkles had promised to twerk to music on live camera. Twitch intervened quickly.
Kaceytron is probably either the most ingenious human being alive (in terms of leveraging her body and "personality" to receive donations) or the dumbest. It is hard to tell, honestly. Either way, she was banned for showing off her breasts on more than one occasion to her thousands of viewers.
Unfortunately, it was not a permaban, despite what many people in the gaming community were hoping for. She has since returned to the streaming world, but has hopefully learned a thing or two by now about what is acceptable in a live stream.
Roxicett, a well known Runescape streamer, decided one day that she wanted to get drunk while streaming her gameplay, as per usual. Unfortunately for her, this day she ended up drinking a bit more than intended, which led to her eventual ban from Twitch.
After consuming too much, and in an effort to receive further donations from her viewers, Roxicett ultimately flashed her boobs, and then pulled down her pants, showing her butt and vagina to the entire stream.
Of course, Twitch was not just going to let this go. They moved in quickly and banned her from the service.
Whether you're upset these ladies were banned from Twitch or not, under the rules of the streaming service they deserved exactly what they received. Of course, their fan communities spoke out each time the ban hammer came down.
What other Twitch streamers did we leave off this list? And what else have lots of streamers been banned for? Let me know in the comments!
