If you’re doing anything that can be categorized as “road rage,” it’s a pretty safe bet that you’re at least struggling with assholeism. This guy in Austin, Texas, though, appears to be so overtaken by chronic assholeism that he’s committed one of the stupidest road rage acts I’ve ever seen.
Here, you pretty much just have to watch this:
Here’s what’s going on there: the asshole in the BMW rear-ends the Audi in front of him. It wasn’t a big deal, so the Audi driver kept going until she was rear-ended again about four blocks later, at the intersection of Fourth Street and Guadalupe Street.
Not surprisingly, the Audi driver stops the car and approached the BMW. Fox 7 spoke to the Audi driver, and this appears to have been the exchange:
“He admitted that he rear-ended me but he was just like, ‘Whatever, sorry, no big deal.’ I said, ‘No, it is a big deal. It’s not okay,” says woman who was rear-ended.

That’s when the BMW asshole must have injected himself with weaponized assholium and really pushed the limits of assholedom. He began honking, nonstop, yelling for the woman to move her car, and then attempting to push the Audi with his BMW, resulting in the pathetically hilarious scene of the BMW’s rear wheels spinning fecklessly against the pavement.
The driver may very well have been intoxicated in some way. A witness who engaged with the driver stated :
“It was very clear that he was amped up on something, his eyes were bloodshot red. He’s just pretty oblivious to the whole situation. He’s looking at me, right in my eyes and I’m like dude, seriously? So it was very clear he was just not there. He was definitely under the influence of something.”
The good news is Austin police report the driver has been arrested , and at the very least will face charges of leaving the scene of an collision. There has to be some sort of anti-asshole law this guy can be charged with too, right?

A long long time ago, at another forum far away - somebody posted a thread with the topic title Why does driving a BMW force you to drive like an asshole?
Since then I began watching, and noticed that people who own BMWs do indeed seem to drive like assholes.
Now what prompted me to write this post, was that today just while getting onto highway on-ramp, some asshole in a silver BMW sedan, fails to yield and almost runs me off the road (I had to slam on my brakes) the he proceeds to cut off another person (still on the on-ramp!)

The most common form of "assholery" BMW owners engage in is the "sudden lane change for no apparent reason with out use of turn signals" Followed closely by the "sudden lane change for no apparent reason without use of turn signals while going twenty miles per hour over the speed limit."
Another one is "cutting off another driver 20 feet before the highway off-ramp for no apparent reason other than to certify that they are an asshole"
"Failure to yield because I'm an asshole" and "Failure to stop at the stopsign because I'm an asshole" are two more common offenses of the BMW driver.
The there's the "I'm an asshole, get out of my way, I'm tailgating you for no apparent reason" and the "I'm passing you like an asshole over the double yellow line only to get in front of you and maintain the speedlimit like an asshole would"

For all you non-asshole BMW drivers out there, I commend you. I'm not saying that ALL BMW drivers are assholes, I know from experience, and after ecountering hundreds of BMW drivers on the road that at least 2 out of every 300 BMW drivers do not drive like assholes.

I have also seen a lot of BMW drivers who seem to think the indicators are just for decoration....

Hopefully I won't be that bad when I get my E30 :(
Indicators are there only as a buffer for when you run others off the road.

Well my paps when I was younger a long time ago owned a really tuned 323i bimmer ;) He is a very good driver, he used to race yes, but he would most likely bad mouth people who drive carelessly in traffic especially in say a city. He just used his best rationale if you will I dunno its just hard to explain.

The only reason he tuned the car was because he wanted to feel like he had a low budget ferrari ;) (His dream car has been always a lotus esprit). He'd race his buddies who had also tuned cars but they'd do it on the highway (which were curvy too) but this was when we lived in Libya, North Africa. The roads are better then the German autobahn (glass race tracks lol, built by the Germans at higher quality -- due to weather conditions). Plus there were times when there was no one on the road for various reasons so it was almost all to themselves. Plus when coming back from work (there were different work times) they got their chance heh.

Hmm the only people I've witnessed drive like total idiots in bimmers were younger people (I am very young so no stereotyping lol). I don't see many so.. I dunno. Most people around here are old guys who drive bimmers anyway haha...

Most guys who drive wrecklessly or who build up an attitude seem to be honda drivers (no offense to the honda community this could very well be just my city/area). Two friends became anti-friends once they got their hondas lol.. they were .. well don't wana bad mouth them, but their attitude changed I felt a bit disapointed in some ways :/ Ah well.. I think it's just coincidences.. the car someone drives doesn't necessarily define their assholery heh. It's one's goal when they drive and character they build or something like that...

What I see generally now around in my environment here in Canada where I am is.. basically this.. Every stop light everyone looks each other and pumps full throttle and boom fly off. LoL ok not everyone.. but its like a daily thing. Yes, I'm not denying my paps does that still but.. it's just different :/ Everyone's really agressive the goal is to show off in the majorest way and I think as young'uns the testesterone level is real high and that's what happens and where you get the idiots. Hell I admit it I would probably be a slight idiot at least a bit with my buddies but.. then somehow wouldn't I dunno..

So again it's not really a car thing.. it's just who's behind the wheel. The character and motive is what determines the driving. Are you driving to get from point a to b.. maybe to c as well and then backwards lol.. or are you driving to show off. Ah well I mumble too much :D
i voted no because my cousin owns a 318ti and she doesn't drive like an asshole nor is she one
my former driving school instructor drives an X5 and he doesn't drive like one

Yeah I know what you are saying and it just isn't Bmw driver's most every car with high value has an asshole behind the wheel, I don't know they must not think that regular rules apply to them and that " Hey Asshole this is a $100,000 vehicle so stay the fuck out of my way!" must be what is constantly running through their brain and spewing out of their mouths. Ohh well at the end of the day I'm still happy knowing that my dong is bigger than theirs. :D

I bet most of us don't know Mr. Bean ever owned a McLaren F1 and owns many other super cars we probably assume he only has that mini morris lol.. anywho. It depends on goal, motive, character and attitude inside the driver not the vehicle. I've seen rich old folks drive 20KM/h in a brand spanking new Benz that cost 200grand but hell..

Well if she engages in asshole like driving (lane changes without blinkers, etc,) and drives a BMW, then she does fit my definition of an asshole-BMW-driver. Otherwise she is either just an asshole, or a BMW driver.
lol- BMW drivers aren't the only ones- I notice that people in Skylines, Mercs, Honduh's and Rotary Mazdas have a high number of assholes behind the wheel in comparision to the number of drivers of the cars

Apparently indicators are an option on many new cars, as about 50%-75% of the cars I see don't have them. Strange...:huh:
It’s too easy to say BMW drivers are assholes. Id read many times that some bmw drivers got to drive the way they do because of the way they are treated on the road themselves. We didn’t get much hassle when we had our 5-series so I didn’t really give this much thought… until more recently. My neighbour’s dad sells cars for a living, and they often have nice shiny new cars in their drive. I went for a cruise with his son, who’s around my age, so i could test drive a 330ci sport convertible (i was contemplating whether or not to buy one - a coupe) and have also driven their M5, and from these experiences, let me tell you this:
1. we got shitty looks from taxi drivers / the infamous white van man / and most tellingly, professionally dressed people in decent cars
2. no one would let me out of junctions, especially in the convertible
3. i got cut up on several occasions, which never happens in my Golf
4. finally, i was called a "fucking fag" at a traffic light by some idiot next to me, which let me just say im far from it, along with "cruising in daddy's car, are we?", which funnily enough was fairly accurate, but totally uncalled for...

… overall the pleasure of driving these two wonderful cars and the looks we got from chicks - :D - easily overcame these irritations but they are certainly there, and they manifested themselves almost every time I drove the cars or was going somewhere with my neighbour… he has a 320 coupe and tells me he gets that kind of crap all the time. My colleague at work has an E46 M3 and gets a lot of shit from people on the road, which thankfully he can put the hammer down and they simply disappear… which probably pisses them off even more… the truth is there are a lot of assholes out there, some bmw drivers and some not, but what I do know for sure is that there is a lot of jealousy towards bmw owners, that is very difficult to dispute… and you know what, it’s a bitch to deal with.

Well I know that certainly assholes are not confined to BMWs, second and probably far more deadly are asshole woman drivers in SUVs (And yes I can honestly say that everytime I've seen an SUV speeding and cutting people off without using the blinkers - it was a woman behind the wheel)
But seriously, assholes seem to be attracted to BMWs (or BMWs turn their drivers into assholes) Nearly everytime I've been in an accident trying to make a left turn, it's been because some asshole in their asshole BMW suddenly apears from behind the slower moving traffic, and then speeds at least 20 miles over the limit right when I begin turning into the intersection (and this exact same thing has happened so often it's begining to get creepy) Perhaps he was escaping from people who were insulting him for driving a BMW? - who knows? I just know that they were driving like assholes.

Not to big of a bastard BMW problem in washington. I know what it's like to get shit for driving a nice car. I washed my dad's jag, went for a drive, and was yelled at by some guy in a mid 80's hyundai for being a daddy's boy or some shit like that. like crayzayjay said, uncalled for.

it seems to me like a jealousy issue. i'm just sorry the people that do that kind of thing can't get off their ass and earn themselves a BMW. it might be tough, but it's not impossible.
Its stupid to think everyone's jealous of BMW - the company and the people who drive its cars - but look at it this way, i just went into a non-bmw forum here on AF and deleted yet another idiotic "BMW - A car for people who no self respect! ! ! ! " thread that was bashing every bmw driver in the world... this kind of hate doesnt materialise without a significant amount of jealousy towards something/someone. That in my view is indisputable
Perhaps for many people, but my dislike materializes out of just how little respect the majority of BMW drivers give other drivers on the road, which is not only stupid, but can be dangerous (the asshole who didn't yield when he was supposed to could have easily caused a large accident!)
Being jealous of a BMW owner would seem to be a stupid reason for not liking them in general, but people who drive like assholes just piss me off.

My dad got a 530, and I find although he drives a bit more agressive, hes not a bad driver(doesnt cut anyone off, etc.)

I've always suspected they are, the way they tend to drive 1 feet from the back of my ford station wagon (And no, I'm NOT a left lane hog, this is when I'm in the right lane, and driving at about the speed limit) until today however I never gave it much thought.

While riding my mountain bike in a park today, a BMW driver, driving a BMW silver something yelled to me "get the f*** out of the way you f****** asshole"

- This is while I'm riding my mountain bike in a park !!, with other cyclists and roller bladers, it wasnt on the highway.

I'm not a hard-core auto-enthusiast, so I don't know the exact model of the car he was driving, other than it was a silver sporty looking bmw.

So, I'm definately leaning toward yes, BMW drivers/owners are selfish, superficial assholes who think because they choose to spend their money on luxury cars it makes them better people than everyone else and more deserving of space / air / life / etc than the rest of us.

Well, I hope people like this get what they deserve. and what they deserve isnt fine cars.
