Either way, I hope you will find something interesting, useful and/or inspiring here. This blog combines several of my deepest passions into one space, a space I want to share with you!

At the top of this page you will find six other tabs, including oils, anxiety, depression, organization, interior design and of course the actual blog. How did I decide on these topics? I’m so glad you asked.
Essential Oils : I am a total newbie, well kind of…I have dabbled with essential oils over the past several years, but I just recently joined the Young Living family. I was drawn to the purity of their products and countless success stories. If you are just starting your essential oils journey or are at all interested in Young Living, follow along.
Anxiety : Part of the reason I initially became interested in essential oils is because of my battle with anxiety. Anxiety is a very real thing. It is a mental illness and no amount of being told to “calm down” or “stop worrying” can fix it. I am always searching for new and better ways to manage my anxiety. I’m not a doctor (I don’t do well with needles), but I can offer you the benefit of my personal experience.
Depression : Depression and anxiety often get lumped together, but they are two very different conditions. I didn’t experience true depression for the first time until I was 23 years old. Depression does not just mean you feel sad. Depression makes itself known in many, sometimes subtle, ways. Sufferers of both anxiety and depression have their own special battle in trying to manage both. For example, sometimes a medication that helps to “calm” your anxiety can make your depression symptoms worse by acting as a “downer”, and vice versa. Again…no medical degree hanging on the wall over here, but I am passionate about raising awareness about this mental illness and eliminating the stigma surrounding it.
Organization : Maybe she’s born with it…or maybe it’s a coping mechanism. I’m what some might call a “neat freak”. I can’t help it, y’all…trust me, sometimes I wish I could. Both of my parents are very clean, organized, type-A individuals. So, I’ve often said, “I come by it honestly.” However, I’ve also learned that organizing is somewhat of a coping mechanism for me. When I’m feeling especially anxious or out of control, organizing helps me feel that I have control of something, even if it’s just the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Whether it’s innate or learned, I LOVE organizing. Did you know that there is such a thing as a “Professional Organizer”? Yea, I want to be one of those.
Interior design : Like organization, interior design is calming for me. It’s a creative outlet, plus it’s one of the few things I believe I have a natural talent for. I recently renovated my grandparents’ 1950s cottage, where my husband and I now live. That project was the inspiration for @theblondegem , my Instagram account featuring organization and decor inspo. Check it out!
