I am ashamed to be a part of this country when it comes to topics like this. Unfortunately there has been some abuse towards black people in here and if anything similar has happened to you or any of the people you know I want to apologize on a behalf of Georgia.
It is a problem mostly in older generations though. Younger people are fine and they are open to all of the people despite their color, sex or religion. I still believe it will be absolutely safe even though some people may give you “the stare”. Please visit Georgia because mostly it is full of hospitality and positivity towards our gu

Just visited this past weekend! So to be honest, many people aren’t going to understand what it’s like being black in the Caucasus unless you’re actually black and are paying attention. All countries in the region are very hospitable so people are very shocked when you tell them of personal experiences they’ve never had. As a young black woman, I would probably not walk around late at night alone but I was with one other friend who is also a woman and we were fine at night although I got stares and inappropriate verbal exchanges but that is very common in the Caucasus region.
