Bei seinem Einsatz hat sich der deutsche Marsmaulwurf rasch in den Boden gebohrt - kam aber nur 30 Zentimeter tief. Nun macht er wegen eines Hindernisses erstmal Pause.
Pasadena (dpa) - Bei seinem Einsatz auf dem Mars hat sich der in Deutschland entwickelte Marsmaulwurf festgegraben. Der Roboter HP3 habe sich 30 Zentimeter in die Tiefe gehämmert, schreibt der Leiter des HP3-Experiments, Tilman Spohn vom Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), in einem Blog.
Dabei sei der Roboter auf ein Hindernis gestoßen, schrieb Spohn am Dienstag (Ortszeit) im kalifornischen Pasadena. Nun haben die Forscher dem Roboter eine etwa zweiwöchige Pause verordnet. In dieser Zeit will das Team Strategien entwickeln, um das Hindernis zu überwinden. Zuerst hatte «Spiegel online» über die Unterbrechung berichtet.
HP3 («Heat Flow and Physical Properties Package») war im November mit der Nasa-Mission «InSight» auf dem Mars gelandet. Die Landeregion ist weitgehend eben und frei von größeren Steinen. HP3 soll sich drei bis fünf Meter tief eingraben und den Wärmestrom aus dem Marsinneren messen. Das soll Aufschluss darüber geben, wie sich das Innere des Planeten entwickelt hat und ob er noch immer über einen flüssigen Kern verfügt.
Bei dem Einsatz hatte sich HP3 vor einer Woche binnen fünf Minuten 18 Zentimeter tief in den Marsboden gehämmert. Dabei traf er offenbar auf ein Hindernis, denn sein vertikale Achse habe sich um etwa 15 Grad verschoben, berichtete Spohn.
Die insgesamt rund 650 Millionen Euro teure «InSight»-Mission ist auf zwei Jahre angelegt und soll mehr über den Aufbau des Planeten und über die Dynamik unter seiner Oberfläche enthüllen. Der am DLR entwickelte HP3 sieht aus wie ein großer Nagel, der über einen eingebauten Hammer verfügt.

What they don't tell you about THIS copy is that it has Korean sub-titles, and no matter what you try, no matter how many times you try to turn them off, THEY NEVER GO AWAY!!!!!!! It absolutely ruins the movie for me. I don't understand why a "normal" digital release of this movie isn't available, but THIS was the only one offered. For shame!!!!!

I adore Lauren Bacall and have been a long time fan of Marilyn Monroe. I have seen all of her films and was looking forward to owning this one. There was nothing to say the DVD had obnoxious Korean subtitles throughout the entire film. Really distracting to the point I'll donate the dvd to a book store. Disappointing enough to lose a star. I did enjoy the movie and will probably order it again through a different source. ALSO be prepared to listen to 5 minutes of orchestra music before the credits to the movie begin. I fast forwarded through it.
I confess I didn't buy this for the movie itself. My mother, who was very young at the time, played in the 20th Century Fox orchestra. I love watching her during the "Street Scene" by Alfred Neuman. Others might find that part boring. For me, it's the highlight.

HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE - DVD from FOX 2012
The good part first. This is an excellent transfer of the 'Scope film (bars top and bottom (the correct ratio is a must). The colour is excellent too. Good sound, and clear subtitles. No extras. I have "rediscovered" MM and watched several of her films of the 50's. Some good, some not so good, tho she always seems to me to be right on the ball - funny, sexy and vulnerable when called for. Sadly I found this film to be one of the "not so good" ones. Apart from the incredibly boring 5 minute overture in vision, there is an underlying nastiness about the 3 girls (girls? Betty's Bacall and Grable?) with their determined efforts to snag a millionaire at whatever the cost. Apart from MM I felt the other 2 were not comfortable in their characters. The men are just as bad except for William Powell. However, this is just one viewers opinion. The DVD is cheap, and excellent quality. PLEASE ignore the 2 ONE star reviews - they refer to the VHS release of 2000 and should not be here. For MM completists this is a must, even tho in 2019 it may be found lacking in human warmth.

Did not teach me how to marry a millionaire
I watched this film in the hopes that it would teach me the necessary skills to marry a millionaire. Unfortunately, the ladies didn't have much success in their endeavors and my own imitations proved fruitless. Great film for old school movie lovers but definitely not what it says on the tin.

3 little vixens are we
ok sexual politics aside, this is fabulous and the comic timing and part of monroe is hysterical.bacall is dry and dressed to the nines.grable is actually toned down from her usual brash self and is all the better for it.This movie is choc full of clothes changes for the leading ladies (well this was the 50's)and visually the whole film is a treat.the male leads (the whole premise of the film) definately play second fiddle here.if ever your down this movie will lift you up in no time, even if there is more depth to be found in the froth of a cappuccino!

I recommend it to all fans of Monroe, Grable & Bacall.
I suppose I am a fan of Marilyn Monroe as a great many people my age are. There are only one or two of her movies I am not fond of but this is not one of them. I have been watching it now and again on DVD. The transfer to Blu-ray is brilliant the picture and sound quality is excellent. The title tells all what the movie is about so I don't need to fill you in, the way they go about it is very funny. The movie is also very pleasing to the eye. I recommend it with pleasure.
