If you think you know all the interesting channels on YouTube , you are probably fooling yourself. Every minute, an average of 400 hours of video is uploaded, and nearly 5 billion individual videos are watched every day. Fortunately, we have compiled a list of some of the most bizarre YouTube channels out there, so you can experience the same nightmares we did while researching this list. You're welcome!
Have you ever thought to yourself, "I wonder what it would be like to trip my face off on acid, but not actually have to afford, procure, or actually drop acid?" Well, you finally have a chance to live your dream, now that you've discovered the trippy, psychedelic world of Larry Carlson.
Carlson is a visual artist who makes videos solely to make the viewer feel like they are hallucinating. You may have even seen one of his more famous videos, "IN YOUR CUBE," which you can check out above, if you missed it. There isn't much you can watch on YouTube that's creepier, unless you're the kind of person who finds Speak & Spell-voiced ventriloquist dummies soothing.
Carlson continues to upload to his channel regularly, so you can subscribe and virtually trip like you never have before. Be careful watching these videos, though, because they could cause headaches and possibly seizures. No, we are not kidding about that.
Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is a webseries that finally answers the question, "What would a children's show like Sesame Street look like if you mixed it with Five Nights at Freddy's and sprinkled in a little bit of South Park ?" That's pretty much what you have when you sit down to watch the craziness that is DHMIS. There have only been six episodes of the show in five years, but that's okay, because you'll probably need a significant amount of time to collect yourself after each episode. This show is like the opposite of bingeworthy.
The show involves your typical puppet characters in a classroom setting. The teacher starts singing a song about whatever theme they are going with for the episode. So far, they have done creativity, time, love, technology, diets, and dreaming. Of course, it wouldn't be on this list if that's all it was. The song and the action on screen develops into a nightmarish horror show of gore and irony. It's weird , it's gross, it's hilarious, and it's definitely not for kids, unless you want to turn them into the kind of sick freaks that make shows like DHMIS. Ah, the circle of life.
Fat-Pie is a channel run by David John Firth, a successful British animator whose work has been featured on the BBC. The channel offers Firth a platform for his more experimental side — most of the character animation on Fat-Pie is crude and nothing like the polished work he does professionally. His animation on the channel is weird, to say the least. Newcomers should first check out the Salad Fingers series. Yep: Salad Fingers .
You can see from his channel trailer above just how quirky his work is. The man is nothing if not prolific, and most of his work is at least somewhat disturbing, surreal, and possibly indicative of some light psychosis.
There are certain words that could best be used to described the insanity that is Andywilson92's channel on YouTube, but they're not appropriate for this site. The person behind the channel, who is presumably named Andy Wilson, describes himself thusly: "I'm not bad. I'm just incredibly ambitious, and incredibly drunk." Given what he puts on his channel, that's probably a fairly apt description.
His videos consist of what can be politely described as very poorly animated sketches of whatever random crap he happens to want to put on the internet. If you have an interest in losing your mind for a little bit and want to see a Simpsons parody, watch Snospis Eht for a little while and don't forget to check your sanity at the door. These videos are impressively strange and nonsensical. The channel was even featured on an episode of The Weird Side of the Internet , which is hardly surprising if you have ever seen either show.
There are probably more than half a million channels on YouTube where someone reviews a product or service, either for a sponsor, or simply for the love of whatever they are reviewing. What has to be the weirdest of this type of channel is The Report of the Week , where a young, well-dressed man sits in front of the camera and seriously reviews the most mundane things for pretty much no reason whatsoever.
If you want to watch a guy review something like a Papa John's pizza for 10 minutes, you now have a place to embark on that adventure. Of course, he doesn't just review pizzas, he enjoys reviewing things like Ho Hos, Burger King Whopper Dogs, Taco Bell tacos, sandwiches, and pretty much everything else in between. The man is as serious as a heart attack, too, which he'll probably have, if he keeps this channel up for much longer.
"Psychotically trippy." That's the best way to describe Cyriak's videos in a nutshell. Just watch the video above. It starts out pretty normal, before descending into a madness akin to a Terry Gilliam cartoon merging with a Salvador Dali painting while M.C. Escher sprinkles an extra dash of madness on top. His work is visually ... well, it's freaking odd, is what it is. His specialty is music videos where he juxtaposes animals and repetitive lyrics that don't match the images in any way that makes any sense.
Watching Cyriak's channel may leave you impressed with the video editing skills of someone who is likely as crazy as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, but mostly you will probably be as confused as you have ever been. Take in a few of the music videos or check out the playlist called My Best Stuff . The worst thing that could happen is you would have a pretty simple explanation for your descent into madness that follows.
The Uncharted Zone produces music videos for artists all over the world. It's actually a real video editor and producer named Phil Thomas Katt who runs the channel, so you might think it was fairly normal, and not necessarily a candidate for this list. You would be wrong about that. Pretty much all of his music videos look like they were shot in the 70s or early 80s, and feature artists you have never heard of ... and if you have, well, shame on you.
Katt hosts a show called The Uncharted Zone on the channel where he cuts really old and strange music videos into a themed show. He might cover something like UFOs or any conspiracy theory you can think of. The videos are really strange and don't make a lot of sense, but they do use a lot of music videos ... for some reason.
Katt comes off as a pretty strange guy when he puts himself on camera, and that's the real treat of this channel. Imagine a DJ who you are pretty certain has someone trapped in a basement somewhere — that's Katt. Whether or not he demands the lotion be put on the skin or someone gets the hose again is still up for debate, but if you want to watch something that is just weird as hell, you found it on Katt's YouTube channel . Internet challenge of the month: watch the above video without laughing. We dare you.
Unsettling. That's what the videos on Memory Hole are... they are very unsettling. Pick a random Memory Hole video and you are in for something so weird, it defies any true explanation. These videos look like they might have been the ones the producers said not to use in The Ring because they didn't want to freak out the audience too much. Not that watching these videos will result in a little girl crawling out of your monitor and killing you ... well, she might, so watch with something heavy nearby.
The folks responsible for Memory Hole take home movies from the 90s and edits them into something akin to your worst nightmares, but for some reason, you watch it anyways. The channel is run by the same people who put together the madness that is the infamous Everything is Terrible , so it's no wonder their format is similar. If you want to attempt to understand what they are doing with this show, check out an interview with one of the creators or you can check them out at the Memory Hole channel on YouTube if you want to be inspired by insanity.
Run For The Cube is about the weirdest review channel on the internet, and it's entirely due to the obnoxious and strange voice that talks about the products as a couple of hands mess with whatever is being reviewed. This voice cannot be described: it must be heard.
The above video has to be the most annoying and irritating video on the planet, and it is truly indicative of what you get when you watch one of their many toy reviews. These videos aren't the type that can be watched with the sound off. If so, you are kind of missing the point. On their official website , they explain exactly what they are quite succinctly: "Runforthecube is an internet personality unlike anything ever seen before online (or offline for that matter). A self proclaimed 'Unprofessionally trained pronunciation and linguistics expert', who has been mesmerizing audiences since 2009." What?

Call us old-fashioned, but lately we miss the simpler times, when pornographic films involved actual cameras and not grainy, night-vision cell phone footage; when images of Japanese teenagers getting penetrated by squid tentacles wasn’t something we could easily Google; when posting “revenge porn” of ex-lovers would never have entered our thoughts because it didn’t exist.
We sometimes wish modern porn was a little more like the glory hole days of the 1970s, when women were afflicted with clitorises in their throats and courageous cheerleaders with fringed bangs could bang their way to financial prosperity. So it’s with a whiff of nostalgia that we present this list of “classic” adult films worth revisiting. Call it a history lesson if you must, since many of these films still impact popular culture 40 years after their release. Just be sure to get off our lawn afterward.
Perhaps the first “psychedelic porn” movie, 1972’s Behind the Green Door was the first feature-length adult film from the infamous Mitchell Brothers , and helped to usher in the “Golden Age” of porn (along with Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones , which we’ll get to). In it are scenes involving a trapeze, stylized, slow-motion money shots that last several minutes , interracial sex, and a public orgy. Marilyn Chambers stars as Gloria, a wealthy San Francisco woman who is abducted and “loved as she has never been loved before.” The movie purportedly grossed $25 million , and launched Chambers’ career to stardom, which is fairly amazing because she doesn’t have a single line of dialogue. In 1973, Behind the Green Door was chosen as an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. So, you know, keep at it, artsy XTubers. Someday you too may bone your way to international film acclaim.
One of the best-known adult films of all time, Debbie Does Dallas is a misnomer, since she never actually does anyone in Dallas (or anyone named Dallas), nor does she even set foot in Dallas. Debbie is trying to raise funds to get to Dallas, however, so she can try out for the “Texas Cowboys” cheerleading squad. Curiously enough, Bambi Woods, the film’s star, did actually try out to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, but she didn’t make the cut. Good thing she had other ambitions. Long story short, Debbie and her cheerleader pals end up screwing pretty much every dude they come across in order to help Debbie reach her goals. Feminism!
The 1978 film was a big commercial success, and it spawned a legion of sequels, spinoffs and parodies, including Debbie Does Dallas Again , Debbie Does Wall Street , Debbie Duz Dishes , and even an off-Broadway musical in 2002, proving yet again that if there’s one thing Debbie does well, it’s get around.
The first hardcore film to be “known by name and promoted nationwide ,” Mona the Virgin Nymph was the 1970 brainchild of Bill Osco. Mona is important because it’s considered to be the first adult film with a plot to screen in American theaters. Its coherent narrative structure and “psychological motivation” (Mona wants to remain a “penis-in-vagina” virgin until she’s married) made it unique. Plus, it had all the sex, obviously. Mona’s (Fifi Watson) forays into oral sex, lesbianism and S&M earned Osco $2 million and helped launch the porn industry we know today (for better or worse). One could say that Mona launched the money shot heard ‘round the world.
No safe-for-work clip, but there are plenty of NSFW ones should you desire to go that route.
Probably the best-known of classic porn films, Deep Throat involves the (dare we say sweet?) story of a sexually frustrated woman’s bizarre medical condition: Her clit is in her throat! Her doctor, thankfully, thinks he has the perfect cure for her, and she happily performs oral sex on both the doc and a number of other men. The film even ends with a farewell: "The End. And Deep Throat to you all," which is a pretty great send-off actually, since when does current mainstream porn ever pretend to care about our sexual fulfillment? Way to get deep, Deep Throat .
Deep Throat was hailed by many as the start of “pornographic chic,” or the “first stag film you could see with a date” as Roger Ebert put it. Helping to launch Deep Throat into pop culture stardom even further was Howard Simons of the Washington Post, who chose it as the code name for an informant during Nixon’s Watergate scandal.
After the success of Deep Throat , director Gerard Damiano went on to make The Devil in Miss Jones , a rather serious and avant-garde adult film that starts with, of all things, a suicide. Georgina Spelvin plays a lonely, bored spinster who offs herself to end her miserable life, finds herself in limbo, fucks her way through limbo, becomes a sex addict (sorry, “the embodiment of lust”), and ultimately winds up in the worst kind of Hell—with a man who has zero sexual interest in her (or anything). And you thought porn had no other ending aside from the money shot!
Devil , like Behind the Green Door and Deep Throat , reached mass audiences and the plot was even artistically compared to Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit . As a review in Variety put it: "With The Devil in Miss Jones , the hardcore porno feature approaches an art form, one that critics may have a tough time ignoring in the future.”
