Biography VASHCHYSHINA ELENA

Elena Mikhaylovna Vashchyshina has been working at Zhytomyr Center for Children and Youth Creative Development (ZCCYCD) since 1997 as the choir’s Artistic Director. She has completed higher education in the field of academic choir conductor.

E.M. Vashchyshina proved to be a good coordinator of children's choir demonstrating a high level of professionalism, initiative, creativity, implementing effective pedagogical methods, which ensure high efficiency of the educational process. Ms. Vashchyshina directs the work of teachers of the studio towards comprehensive development of creative abilities and talents of children. She is able to clearly plan the work of the studio, promote a creative, friendly atmosphere of mutual understanding in the team and in the classroom, set up uniform goals. Ms. Vashchyshina closely cooperates with parents of students, organizes demonstration lessons, concerts for them, which improves the educational process.

E. Vashchyshina pays great attention to the selection of the choir’s repertoire. This is facilitated by cooperation with Zhytomyr Music Society and local authors. The team is united by strong friendly relations with composer Oleksandr Mashevsky and poetess N.Ostapenko, People's Artist of Ukraine Iryna Shinkaruk, People's Artist of Ukraine composer Lesya Horova, leaders of children's choirs in Zhytomyr and choirmasters from Lviv, Rivne, Kyiv, Odesa, Moscow.

For many years Ms. Vashchyshina has been acting as the Chairman of methodical association of choirs of ZCCYCD; in 2010 she was elected as the Chairman of methodical association of local choirs rendering methodical help to heads of choirs of schools and out-of-school facilities of the city and area, participating in jury of city and regional competitions-festivals among choirs, regularly holding meetings of the methodological association of leaders of choirs, giving demonstration lessons, organizing concerts and is always interested in the news of musical and choral art of Ukraine and abroad.

The staff of the choir "Strumochok" under the direction of E.Vashchyshina annually organizes concerts of the studio "Strumochok" for the residents of the city on various topics: "Family Holiday", "New Year's Gift", "Merry Journey", "Visiting Fairy Tales", "Children for Peace", "Easter Bells ","Beauty Will Save the World." In 2013 and in 2018 concerts with the participation of People's Artist of Ukraine Lesya Horova took place. In 2016, a charity concert “Star Friends visiting Strumochok” with the participation of People's Artist of Ukraine Iryna Shinkaruk, singer, poet and composer Oleksandr Voevutsky, finalist of the TV project "Voice of the Country-3" singer Artem Kondratyuk took place.

Elena Mikhaylovna interacts with the PTA, coordinates the creative and educational process with it. Ms. Vashchyshina takes care of meaningful rest of the choir’s pupils, organizes trips for children and teachers to health camps in the summer, where students continue to do their favorite thing and perform concerts.

E. Vashchyshina is constantly improving her knowledge, skills taking the courses for leaders of amateur choirs, methodologists of the vocal and choral genre in Zhytomyr branch of the State Academy of Culture and Arts Management. She was awarded the Diploma of the Department of Education of Zhytomyr City Council, the Diploma of the Mayor (2008).
