THIS week's scorching weather has seen many of us don swimwear - but one style you might not have spotted is the eye-popping BONDAGE bikini.
Despite the crazy tan lines it no doubt creates, the racy two-piece is the latest fashion statement taking Japan by storm.
And it's not just a hit in the Far East - in fact, the bondage bikini is making its way into the mainstream, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner and Demi Lovato all recently snapped wearing similar designs.
Bella Hadid sported a less-revealing version of the bikini during a break in St Barts - which featured a classy wraparound belt to add a touch of bondage-esque style.
Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner and Demi Lovato both opted for elaborate bikini tops with plenty of straps - undoubtedly channelling the racier lingerie which inspired the jaw-dropping bondage bikini.
Created by fashion house Buyma, Japanese girls are snapping the bondage swimsuits up from trend store Pocket Tokyo, where it retails for around £28 - and ships with optional thigh-high black socks to complete the sexed-up look.
Japanese entertainment webiste Rocket24 explained: "It is a design that only the bravest of the brave would dare to wear down at the beach this summer. The perfectly placed cut-outs are designed to show off feminine curves.
"All those revealing cut-outs would probably get us arrested for public indecency down at the beach, but we can’t help but think this would be much better suited to someone who’s already proven themselves when it comes to pulling off unusual outfits."
