Big Brother returned to screens after a five-year hiatus on Monday with a diverse cast and a distinctly family-friendly makeover.
And those watching the program for the first time will find it hard to believe the early seasons had a raunchy companion show called Big Brother Uncut.
Uncut debuted on Channel 10 in 2001 as an adults-only adjunct to the early evening broadcast - and no act of debauchery was off limits.

Hosted by Gretel Killeen, Uncut was known for airing footage of the housemates showering, engaging in racy behaviour and discussing sexual matters.
Following a wave of complaints, the show was rebranded as Big Brother: Adults Only for the 2006 season and was eventually axed the following year.
Since its cancellation, the TV watchdog has enforced new rules about the depiction of sexual content, meaning that Big Brother Uncut will likely never return.
Here, Daily Mail Australia takes a look at the most shocking moments ever to air on the program.
Big Brother's infamous 'bondage party'

Andrea proceeded to attach a collar to Todd James' neck, before leading him around like a dog in an act of humiliation.

Sara-Marie Fedele is still regarded to this day as one of the raunchiest housemates ever to set foot in the Big Brother house.
Known for her famous 'bum dance' in the 2001 series, she also raised eyebrows for her wild behaviour, which included shaking her breasts, slapping her bottom and inviting her male co-stars to touch her body.

In one episode of Big Brother Uncut, Sara-Marie stripped nude and began dancing around the crowded bedroom wearing just a pair of rabbit ears.
In another installment, the former strip club manager wiggled her breasts around in bed as housemate John Cass rested his head on her bosom.
'Everyone needs a bosom for a pillow,' she cooed.
A separate late-night scene showed Sara-Marie flashing her breasts at Blair McDonough and Ben Williams as they cuddled up in bed together.

Later that night, infra-red footage showed the pair moving rhythmically underneath a doona.

During the Big Brother Uncut scene, Gianna was facing away from Michael and appeared to have no idea what was happening.
The vision included a close-up shot of Gianna's face with Michael's uncensored penis looming in the background.

In 15 series of the reality show we have been given plenty of highs, lots of lows, and everything in between
In 15 series of Big Brother we've pretty much seen it all.
From sex acts, nudity, showmances and everything in between, there have been too many memorable moments to count.
Today 24-year-old model Aaron Frew was kicked out of the house following an incident which saw him drunkenly flash fellow housemate, Joel.
Here we take a look back at the most memorable housemates to ever grace the reality show.
Whether good or bad, these housemates have certainly made lasting impressions.

It is understood that Joel did not complain about Aaron's behaviour and that the police were not called following the incident, however Big Brother deemed the behaviour unacceptable and removed Aaron from the house.
Taking us right back to the start, on Big Brother 1 in 2000, cheeky chappy Craig Phillips was adored by the nation throughout the first series and was crowned as the champion just 2 months later.
But it was following his victory that he really stole the nation's heart as he announced he was giving his £70,000 prize money to his friend Joanne Harris, who had Down syndrome. The cash was to pay for her heart and lung transplant. What a top guy.
From one Craig to another Craig. Mr. Coates was known for his affections towards eventual winner Anthony Hutton.
Craig was no stranger to throwing the old strop and was told on the show that he looked like Moors murderer Myra Hindley when he put on a wig during one task. Bit harsh!
He went on to open a hairdressing salon but that unfortunately closed, and there was an infamous webcam video which he appeared in. We'll say no more about that.
While Craig may have done a bit of exposing after leaving the house, his fellow Big Brother 6 housemate Kinga couldn't wait until she left to be inappropriate.
She didn't enter the house until Day 66 as Orlaith's replacement but she more than made up for lost time with her infamous "bottle incident", whereby she used a bottle to … uhhh … we can't bring ourselves to say it … pleasure herself.
As well as Kinga, the sixth series saw another saucy housemate in the form of Makosi, who had some under-water fun in the house hot tub with Anthony and later declared on the show that she could be PREGNANT.
Fortunately for Anthony (we're guessing), Makosi didn't go on to give birth to his baby.
She went on to get her own current affairs show in Nigeria called Makosi Today.
Another memorable moment in the house came way back in Big Brother 3 when Alex quite spontaneously showed off some serious shapes and lip syncing to That's The Way I Like It while buttoning up his shirt behind a door.
That alone was good enough for us to get Alex into our top housemates of all time. Great moves.
Someone else who showed off some serious moves on Big Brother was Alison . Her dancing had a slightly different effect to Alex's though as while the local Homebase will have been pleased, the BB producers were not as her shapes led to her breaking a garden table.
It's a classic Big Brother moment and one that helps catapult Alison into our list. She has gone on to forge a great career, becoming a showbiz reporter on ITV's This Morning, on which she's interviewed everyone from One Direction to Britney Spears.
Another former housemate who went on to forge a TV presenting career was Brian , who was loved by BB fans so much he ended up being crowned the "Ultimate Housemate" after 2010's Ultimate Big Brother series.
He even presented four Celebrity Big Brothers and two series of the main show before being replaced by current host Emma Willis.
Brian was just 22 when he first appeared on BB and was working as a trolley dolly – time does indeed fly.
Helen was beaten in the final of Big Brother 2 by Brian – but that is not what she is most remembered for from the series.
It was her adorable romance with fellow BB housemate Paul Clarke on the show which captured the nation's heart as did her hilariously naïve comments.
The couple did date after the show but they split five years later.
Another female contestant who had a relationship in the house was Michelle.
She and her in-house lover Stuart 'Chicken Stu' Wilson were thought to have been the first couple to have sex on Big Brother, but when questioned about it in her exit interview she said "no comment".
They dated for a bit but split in 2007. She ended up being a TV presenter on Television X's The Fantasy Channel.
Josie was yet another who got involved in house romance – with Aussie John James. Once again, the pair split in 2011 following a romance after the series.
The Bristolian was adored by hardcore BB fans and she went on to win her series in 2010.
She is still a regular on the social scene and a lovely lady.
Like Josie, Nikki was the talk of her series - mainly because she was the QUEEN of temper tantrums.
Her most famous was the hilarious "WHO IS SHE?!" rant she went on in the Diary Room about fellow housemate Susie Verrico.
Nikki's outburst included some absolute classic lines such as: "I can feel the venom pouring out of me as I breathe."
She was also known for her showmance with Pete Bennett, who went on to win the series but just missed out on our Top 15. Sorry, Pete.
One winner who did make it into our list is Nadia Almada, who didn't reveal to her housemates that she is a transsexual.
The feisty former bank clerk was without doubt a huge fan favourite as she amassed an incredible 74 per cent of the vote when she defeated Jason Cowan.
She was also known for her angry confrontations and didn't hold back when she appeared on Ultimate Big Brother either.
Another winner who made a big impression was Brian, who defeated student twins Amanda and Sam Marchant in the final.
He did get ridiculed online after claiming he'd never even heard of William Shakespeare – really?! – but was eventually crowned the youngster winner at the time.
In 2013 the Big Brother winner reached a settlement with ITV and Lime Pictures, after taking legal action against the makers of TOWIE - he claimed they stole the idea from him.
According to Broadcast, the case was due to be heard at the High Court but a final attempt at negotiations saw all parties reach a settlement that day.
Another big favourite, Emma Willis has said he is one of her all-time faves on the show, is self-proclaimed "sugar daddy" Dexter.
The 28 year old baffled viewers and indeed Emma during the show with many believing he was playing a game. Well, that series was called Secrets and Lies to be fair.
Whether he was or not it wasn't quite enough to take him over the line and he was runner-up to Sam Evans.
As with all good things, we've saved the best until last. Poor Jade Goody. She was the heart and soul of Big Brother 3 and had the nation, including big fan Graham Norton, in hysterics on a nightly basis.
One of her most notable events in the house came when she got drunk and frolicked around naked.
Unfortunately, another memorable moment for the wrong reasons came when she appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 5 and her behaviour, alongside Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd, towards fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty attracted several complaints.
Tragically, Jade passed away in her sleep in March 2009 after losing her battle with cervical cancer.
Following her untimely passing, a tribute named her the most-mourned celebrity of 2009, more so than King of Pop Michael Jackson, and a tribute to the star was shown on the final episode of Ultimate Big Brother. RIP, Jade.
