So- the @TheGoldbergs season premiere was a full on version of their " Vacation Movie", complete with Christie Brinkley reprising her role as " the girl in the red Ferrari" and Anthony Michael Hall as the guard at Walley World letting them know the park is closed... So many memories!
Did you know ( can you believe it) that at first,I wasn't interested in doing that film? I had had a kind of whirlwind intro to Hollywood: Hair, Coal Miners daughter, Honky Tonk Freeway, Pa…ternity one right after another- and I had just married my first husband, Lorenzo Salviati, an Italian Duke. Um yea.
The script was a National Lampoon satire- "lampooning" a middle class family in their quest for the ultimate family vacation. I read it and my first thought was, wait- Im 29 and playing the mother of teenagers?? And they kill a dog? and they put their dead aunt on top of the car? And the husband wants to cheat on me? And Im naked a couple of times??
Growing up , I was a wild child and had not yet let go of my hope to be a singer.. I didn't know if my future as an actress lay in dramatic roles or what- I was that new. I really wasn't sure how I fit into Hollywood at ALL, let alone playing a suburban wife and mother. Im not kidding I saw it as a huge stretch! But my husband said, " Beverly, look at this Cousin Eddie. This is a hilarious movie . We do it!" I met Chevy Chase and it was like being in the room with an old and VERY smart and funny friend.So I said yes.
The original movie was " r" rated.. and to me at least, it was a surprise that instead of laughing AT the Griswolds, people identified with them and were bringing their kids to the theaters too. I was so detached that my agent had to call me in Italy and said " do you KNOW that you're in the number one movie this weekend?"
Well anyway, doing that film really did change my life. Chevy is my friend to this day and the fans of all the Vacation movies are seriously the nicest people in the world. I am so lucky, so fortunate so blessed - I call the whole Vacation franchise the gift that keeps giving.
Fun fact: The original cast of Anthony Michael Hall, #DanaBarron, Chevy and I are going to have a reunion of our own at Rhode Island Comic Con in Providence . Nov 1-3. I cant wait!
Busy days. Time with my own family, then celebrating milestone birthday of a long time friend and seeing sooooooo many people I havent seen for a while, working out a schedule so I can work on two film projects back to back in October, while doing rehearsals and working with a new writer on upcoming solo show , hosting my beloved cousin in town from Portland, taking care of some construction on the house, and trying to take good care of my self etc!
Life is good…. Its good because of time and attention paid to friendships, and approaching work scenarios knowing that everything all comes down to embracing the positives that can be found in every interaction. I really belive that understanding what a person wants from you is the key to everything. Even in a conversation about which kind of supplies you need to tackle a DIY home repair, well, your talking to the person at Home depot- maybe they have had a bad day and what they really need is to know they are validated for their own expertise or just for being there. Or that boss who seems to be taking it out on you but what they are really doing is doubting their own competence and not getting any affirmation from the person above them, they could just need to know that you respect them. Someone on the phone who is kind of going on and on about a dud boyfriend maybe just needs to know you care and aren't going anywhere. On and on. Ive learned that it makes all the difference to really listen with your heart and stay tuned in.
Ive gotten a lot of comments on this page, and Im not fully into social media( yet, lol) so I don't do the back and forth that a lot of users do. But I wanted to send a special message to let you that I hear all of you and am grateful for your kind attention- Hoping you share the love with the people in your everyday lives too!

Единственное что не понял, это зачем вставили в момент прохождения испытания песню про Черную Бетти. По бревну бежит белый чувак, а песня про черную Бетти. Короче словил кринж на этом месте. Риф конечно классный, но с текстом учудили.

Яркое зрелищное шоу. А за мощную игру главного дуэта, особенно Элизабет (ей всё же больше внимания уделено, нежели Вижну) можно было и 10 поставить. Но в целом - твёрдая 8-ка.

Очень взволнован этим проектом. В нем переполняет столько амбиций, что он кажется еще сильнее изумит своим новым перевоплощением. Cамое лучшее еще впереди !

За серию «Прощай, Майкл» готов простить Полу Фигу все что угодно. На слезу пробило.
Не фанат МакКарти, но абсолютно ничего плохого не увидел в фильме. Вообще чем-то Хэнкока напомнило. Тоже такая же отсебятина в стиле супергероики. И да, Смит, там сыграл далеко не самую свою лучшую роль.
