In 2018, Artur and Martin founded a cleantech company focused on the development of an innovative sustainability machine. The R&D process was not only time- and staff-consuming, but also required a huge number of unique parts that were neither sold nor possible to customize according to the needs of small companies.
After a long search, they found a solution: a new 3D printing technology called — belt printing. But there was still no printer manufacturer who offered an affordable belt printer. Only expensive business solutions existed. That’s why Martin decided to build an open-source low-budget 3D belt project and publish it on Thingiverse.

What materials can I use with this printer?
PETG, PLA, ABS, ASA , TPU, PC, NYLON.
Insert the filament into the extruder by hand like in every other 3D-printer by hand, there will also be an auto-unload and auto-fill option available on display.
How long does it take to print something?
It depends on the print settings and object size, with average settings, a 20x20x20mm cube takes around 20 minutes.
The parameters of the build volume are the same as the printers’ dimensions: 180 mm(H), 290 mm (W), infinite (L).
Does the printer have automatic failure detection?
Yes. We are working on a failure detection algorithm that can detect several common failures and even automatically restart printing with changed settings.
How can I print more than one object in a row?
When the print is finished, the rotation of the belt will release the printed part. After the part fall off, a new print can be started. You can load several objects in the slicer and set the number of copies.
Where can I find open source material to print with this printer?
Thingiverse, GrabCAD, MyMiniFactory, Pinshape, etc.
What 3D printing software does this model use?
Cura Engine (own version) for slicing and Octoprint / Octoscreen (own version) as the user interface.

Yes. There will be an option to print from everywhere and upload / download files directly to the printer.
For most objects, no support is needed. Using the 45° angle you are able to print objects without any infill or support. For some very complex objects you still need to place support.
