Beauden Barrett

Beauden Barrett is already one of rugby’s most decorated individuals. He is a New Zealand rugby union player. Voted World Rugby Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017. He’s also currently in third place on the all-time New Zealand international points-scoring record.

He was born in New Plymouth and grew up on a dairy farm in Pungarehu, he has seven siblings and also comes from a rugby-playing family: his father, Kevin, was a rugged forward who played for Taranaki and Hurricanes at the dawn of pro rugby, and his brothers, Scott and Jordie, have joined him in the New Zealand side, while two other brothers play the game to a high level as well.

Barrett made his provincial debut for Taranaki in 2010 at the age of nineteen and appeared for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby the following season. He plays in the fly-half position for Taranaki and the Wellington based Super Rugby side the Hurricanes, and for New Zealand’s national team the All Blacks. He quickly established himself as one of the Hurricanes’ key players and has set numerous records for the side, and also helped lead the team to its first Super Rugby title in 2016.

Barrett played his 100th Super Rugby match for the Hurricanes in March, 2018, against the Crusaders, helping them to victory. A huge part of the Hurricanes success over the past three seasons, Barrett has moved seamlessly into the club’s leadership group and has often taken over the captaincy during matches. He has gone on to become the all-time record points 토토 scorer for the club, accumulating 1120 points by the end of the 2018 season.
