Best Robot Vacuum And Mop Self-Empty: It's Not As Difficult As You Think
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop With Self-Empting Bases
Self-emptying bases make a robot vacuum worth it, especially for people with big houses. It means you won't have to empty the bin several times during a run, which keeps it running more frequently and keeps your floors clean.
Its Lidar navigation system does a fantastic job of mapping and you can also use the app to create zones and cleaning schedules. But it didn't avoid obstacles like shoes or furniture legs, and neither did the j7 and Q Revo.
1. iRobot Combo J7+
The Combo J7+ robot vacuum and mop is the first from iRobot. The Combo J7+ combines the top-quality iRobot j7 robot vacuum and adds a reservoir of water, a robotic arms that can raise and lower mopping mats, and new sensors. The result is an extremely capable two-in one cleaner that we found to be superior than mopping-free robotic vacuums.
The Combo J7+ does not include the smart mopping features that our top pick does however, it effectively cleans. It comes with a powerful brush roll which works well both on hard floors and carpeted areas. It can be able to get between rugs and furniture without issue, even on steep stairs. It has a powerful suction that we found impressive, though it's not as strong as the Roomba's 694 from iRobot.
What is what sets the Combo j7+ in a way from other robot vacuums is a mopping feature that utilizes a small rotating brush to scrub the floor. iRobot calls it SmartScrub and it works by moving back and forth, resembling the way you scrub your floor using a mop. The iRobot App lets you enable it on the basis of a room.
The j7 Plus is simple to use and set up, just like other iRobot Robots. It is also easy to maintain. Both the dust bin and the water tank can be taken out for easy cleaning. And the iRobot app lets you view videos about how to maintain different elements of the machine, like replacing the mopping pads or filtering the dust bin.
The only downside is that you are able to mop using the iRobot Combo if your mopping pad is attached and if its 210 ml tank is filled. If either of those is not present, it simply vacuums. You can easily monitor the tank's water level via the iRobot app, and when it's low you'll receive an alert to refill it.
2. Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is a low-cost robot that does an excellent job of mopping and vacuuming. The mopping capabilities are impressive, particularly considering its price. It can be used to mop carpets and hard floors, picking up fine to large debris (think hair tangles, kitty litter, cereal of all sizes). It also does a fantastic job of cleaning up dried spills and messes. It also cleans stairs and easy-to-get-stuck places well.
The mopping system uses rotating pads to scrub your floors and get rid of dirt and grime even from stuck-on areas. The pad is also dried thoroughly with 45 minutes of warm air following each cleaning to avoid mold and unpleasant smells. You can control the robot via the Roborock App or your voice to start mopping, change settings and more.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also top-of-the-line. It has powerful suction and a high-efficiency filters that remove fine to large debris effortlessly. It's only downside is it's not as effective on carpets with pet hair. After two sessions of vacuuming at maximum power 10 percent of pet hair remained on the test surface. This is not unheard of.
The Q Revo is a great product, thanks to its superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. It also has excellent mopping and cleaning capabilities. It's not as great as a high-end mop and robot vacuum however, it's a great option for anyone with a limited budget. Plus, it charges up to 30% faster than its predecessors and works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri Shortcuts. This adds a lot of functionality for a small price. 3. Yeedi Cube
The Yeedi Cube vacuum/mop robot is extremely affordable and has numerous great features. The set-up was simple and took just five minutes. After taking off the tape used for manufacturing and the protective plastic scanning the QR code in the app will get you started. The app is intuitive and guides you through the process easily. Once it is set up, you are able to start mapping and cleaning.
The app lets you customize your home's layout and design maps that the robot can follow. The app also lets you divide rooms into smaller parts to better cater to your specific requirements. You can make a kitchen map and a different one for the living room. The robot will sweep the floors at different times in each room.
The Yeedi Cube is unique compared to other robots that I've tested. It is an industrial design. Its base station features more modularity than other robots, and has the tank for dirty water and an auto-empty feature on one end, and the vacuum on the other. The reusable mop pads are also a separate feature. They slot into the top of robot and are attached to a handle at the front, making it simple to remove and refill.
The vacuum performs as well as any other robot I've tried and has two side brushes in addition to the single brush in the majority of models. This expands the coverage of the vacuum, making it less likely to lose debris from furniture and walls. However, it does have some issues with the detection of objects and a tendency to run full speed into objects, like the tassel rug in my office.
4. iRobot Braava Jet m6
The iRobot Braava Jet m6 robot mop is a good choice for maintaining your hard flooring. It does an excellent job and will keep them looking great. It's not able to vacuum like other hybrids and cannot move from hard floors to rugs or carpets. But, with its long battery life and smart mopping features, this machine is an ideal option for smaller and mid-sized houses.
It can also be used in dry sweeping mode, which can clean up to 1,000 sq. ft. with a single battery charge. It can also draw your floor plan using the iRobot App and clean rooms in a sequence using compatible Roomba vacuums.
When used in wet mopping mode, the m6 uses a precision spray to dampen the floor in straight efficient lines. It was fascinating to watch, and it was able to eliminate even the most difficult dried-in coffee stains as well as juice staining from my floors. It can be programmed to use less or more water than the maximum amount of water specified in the app.
The iRobot app is among the best on the market and makes syncing to your home's wi-fi network simple. It has many user-friendly features, such as scheduling, room partitioning and creating no-go areas. This gives you complete control over the device. You can also see the remaining power in the battery, so you know how long before it has to be recharged or docked. The m6 is on sale at My Robot Centre in the UK for £499 and the iRobot store in the US for $399, and on Amazon (where it's currently on sale). It is available in white and graphite.
5. Shark RV2610WA
It's not a secret that robot vacuums and mops are a great way to keep your home spotless without lifting a finger, but they tend to come with hefty price tags. The Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 robotic vacuum and mop with XLHEPA Self-Empty base, which we reviewed, retails at $699 / PS559 / approximately AU$1,054. Forgo the charging base and you'll still need to shell out $549 or PS395 / around $675 in Australia.
Shark RV2610WA is a fantastic option for anyone who is seeking a robot that is able to do both vacuuming as well mopping. It uses sonic mopping to scrub your floors at a rate of 100 times per minute, and is capable of deep cleaning stains that are difficult to remove with its stain-lifting system. The app allows you to schedule the machine to clean on a specific date and time, and comes with an innovative feature that lets you control your robot when you're away from home.
The Shark vacuum cleaner is effective at cleaning and can pick up most debris. However, it is not as effective on carpets. It's easy for pet hair to be caught in the brushroll and its dirt bin will quickly fill up. enboya d60+ got a few components that require regular maintenance and replacement. This could result in ongoing expenses.
There are better options available on the market. The iRobot Combo J7 Plus offers superior performance on carpets that are not bare and with a lot of pile. It's better built and has a bigger dust bin, and can maneuver over obstacles like electrical cords with ease. The iRobot is more expensive, but it's well worth the extra expense if require a cleaner that can handle both jobs effortlessly.
