THESE women are battling it out to be crowned Britain’s most natural beauty.
Pia Byrne, 19, Rebecca Mellor, 30, and Shanecka Hamilton, 20, beat thousands
of entrants to be picked as finalists in Lorraine Kelly’s TV beauty contest
Naked 2.
After ditching their make-up the girls are now in with a chance of fronting a
campaign for a leading beauty retailer and modelling for a glossy magazine.
On Wednesday, the public will be asked to decide who they think looks best
naked - without make-up, not clothes!
Appearing on today’s ITV Lorraine show, bare-faced beauty Rebecca, from
Lancashire, said was amazed she was picked over younger women.
She said: “I really didn’t I think because I’m married and got two kids and
I’m 30 I just thought no there’s no way.”
Five women over 41 are also competing for the same prize and the three
finalists will be revealed on Tuesday's show.
Here, the older women have shared the beauty secrets that keep them looking
young:
Red-head Kirsty Maluga, from Bedford, said she’s finally learned to love her
freckles.
The 42-year-old revealed: “As a very young child, I honestly thought that I
would never find a man to marry me. Now I see my freckles as an asset. They
help me stand out.
“I didn't even wear foundation on my wedding day - just eye make-up and a bit
of blusher.”
While Angela O’Hare, from Dundee, credits sun-tan lotion with helping her look
young.
The 48-year-old said: “If I could turn back the clock, I wouldn't wear more
make-up: I'd be less cavalier about sun protection. Now I put on factor 50
even if I'm just hanging out the washing.”
She added: “I believe you need less make-up as you get older - it can settle
in the cracks and crevices and make you look worse, while too much has more
than a touch of the mutton-dressed-as-lamb about it.”
Angelina Tapping, 51, from Chingford, Essex, added: “The irony is that, when
you are over 40, make-up can actually age you.
“My beauty regime - if you can call it that - involves washing my face with
water then putting on some cocoa butter or Vaseline. That's it!”
Kiran Mann, 41, from Dagenham, East London, said: “As a busy mum of three the
only chance I get to look in the mirror is when I come out of the shower
first thing in the morning.
“At night I just wipe my face with cotton wool balls and water and that's it.”
Ingrid de Jongh, 59, from Manchester, says the older she gets the less she
wants to waste time doing her make-up.
She said: “It's not that I think I'm anything special: the point is I don't
really think about it at all.
"I was the same even when I was young, and now I'm 59 I feel even less
inclined to waste time on it.
“Instead of wanting to cover up, getting to my age has liberated me. I think,
'This is me, this is my face.'”
