Soi Cowboy is one of the three infamous red light districts in Bangkok.
This street is only long 150 meters but is the home of around 40 Go Go bars and hundreds of sexy Thai ladies.
The Soi was given its “funny” name after the cowboy hat-wearing African-American who opened the first bar here in the early 70s.
Location ; It is between Sukhumvit Soi 21 (also called Soi Asoke) and Soi 23. The easiest way to access is by BTS Skytrain’s Asoke Station and the Bangkok Metro’s Sukhumvit Station.
1. Baccara is the largest GoGo bar in the Soi split over two levels. This club is crowded with Korean and Japanese, thus expect the girls to focus their attention on the Asian men. .
The two levels offer two types of entertainment; downstairs the GoGo dancers are dressed in full bikinis and some forget their bra in the changing room. Instead upstairs it is like going to school (the girls wear short black skirts and white shirts.
Baccara doesn’t only have the hottest dancers, it also seems to have the most dancers on the Soi which is part of its huge popularity.
This go-go bar is a must visit during your naughty tour, it is a landmark in Soi Cowboy.

3. Crazy House is totally a different club in the Soi where you can get the best view for your bucks. The girls downstairs mostly dance naked, this is how far this business goes to make the customer happy.

1. Black Pagoda is the new addition to this area and I personally think it is the number one because of the newly concept.
It isn’t a classic gogo bar, but a bland with a gentleman’s club and underground nightclub where you can have party, girls and booze.

As Bangkok’s biggest red light district in terms of pay for play options, the areas surrounding Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP) is hard to compete.

Apart from the shows, the professional go go dancers lineup is excellent; mostly tall and busty, not the usual petite Asian standard.

There are dozens of Go Go bars around Bangkok – from shiny, bright and lively places where everyone is welcome to dark pits you definitely should avoid. We have listed here some friendly clubs for a first time experience, nothing too adventurous; more of a guide to satisfy your natural curiosity. Since there are three famous red-light districts in Bangkok (Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Patpong) we picked some in each area. Everything inside is ultra modern, with mirrors everywhere and a metal and neon futuristic vibe. Drink prices are about 120 baht for a beer, which is fairly average on this street. Known to have prettier girls than the neighbours, Tilac is very popular and gets seriously busy in the late hours. Angelwitch is a renowned a go go in Nana Plaza that has the best live performances in town. For 15 minutes every hour, the girls dress up and act out a series of short skits that end up with at least one girl picking her clothes up off the floor (but usually more). Among the tried and tested acts are a high tempo and erotic Thai dance – complete with headdress and long fake nails, a cat burglar sneaking around to the sound of Pink Panther, and, for one lucky customer, an exotic lapdance and striptease. Angelwitch also commands a loyal following due to its music policy of rock classics and dancers dressed in black leather.

Billboard is the next level in nightlife entertainment. The bar is larger than usual and a lot is going on inside. Once you enter you will have to decide if you prefer to sit next to the foam bath or by the dance stage… tough choice because both are surrounded with eye candy. The place is casual with good music, less of a ‘sit & stare’ kind of Go Go and you could come here and just have a drink with your buddies. In reality, chances are your eyes will inevitably be attracted by the action happening on the stages. On your right, a large bath is always full of girls having fun in a large amount of foam while the other stage on your left is shared between the usual pretty girls dancing to the music of a show you could call ‘sexy’ or ‘erotic’. The show involves a basic scenario to start from and evolves into something a hotter but nothing too offensive, you probably could take your girlfriend here… but that wouldn’t be as much fun. Prices start at the usual 120 baht and bill is of course brought to you with your drink.

What is the best gogo bar in Bangkok? I can’t definitively answer that question but I can comment on each of the eleven gogo bars I stopped by recently. We all have different ideas about what makes a great bar, and here are my impressions of the bars I stopped by this trip, ranked from worst to best.
Survey Bangkok bar hounds about their favourite Bangkok gogo bar and I’d be willing to bet that Crazy House would be near the top of the list. Regular bargoers love the place. For others – like me – Crazy House is a bit too much.
Crazy House has the reputation for being the raunchiest gogo bar in Bangkok. Not only do the girls dance in the buff, many don’t clothe up between dance sets. They lounge around, chat amongst themselves or linger with customers without covering up. It should be no surprise that many punters like this but you don’t have to be an expert on body language to see that the girls are anything but comfortable being groped and poked by strangers in full view of everyone in the bar.
Throw in a layout that probably breaks every rule of feng shui , music that at times is manic, flashing
