Man Checking in During Sex, healthy sex after 40
Maybe you're more of a nighttime lover. Or perhaps afternoon delights are your thing. Everyone has their preference when it comes to sex , but if you're looking to get your libido back into gear, there's one time of day in particular to do it. According to a recent survey conducted by British supplement company Forza Industries, the best time to have sex is actually relatively early in the morning, at 7:30 a.m.
Going straight for it with your partner first thing in the morning —ideally about 45 minutes after you first wake up—means you can bring your peak energy levels to your encounter. "Energy levels are at their highest after a good night's rest which means both sexes have more stamina," the study authors explain.
The survey also reveals that most people hit peak stress levels by 10:45 a.m. meaning if you wait that long, you may miss your window for a relaxing romp. That's why the best time for sex is bright and early—maybe even earlier than some would like—but research shows it's well worth setting the alarm.
There are many documented benefits of making love in the morning: For one, it can actually help couples feel more deeply connected . "During sex of any kind, you release oxytocin, the cuddle chemical," Emily Morse , PhD, a human sexuality expert, recently told Women's Health Magazine . "When you have morning sex specifically , you'll feel more connected to your partner all day afterward," she added.
Plus, that oxytocin that you release has long-lasting effects: It helps to lower overall stress levels, meaning you should feel more relaxed as you get on with your day. The Forza study authors add, "The rush of endorphins sparked by sex lowers blood pressure and stress levels and makes us feel more upbeat for the rest of the day."
Another perk of morning sex is it won't mess with your sleep schedule . Yes, this may sound like the least inspired reason to have sex early in the day, but as research has continuously shown, a good night's sleep is directly related to your sex drive . "Because sleep shortage is perceived as a stress factor, your body may increase the production of stress hormones, thereby suppressing the production of sex hormones," Alex Savy , a certified sleep science coach and founder of SleepingOcean.com , previously told Best Life . So, if it's a better libido you're after, feeling exhausted won't do you any favors in the long run.
The next time you want to spend some one-on-one time with your partner , you might want to set your alarm clock. It'll give you a little something extra to look forward to as you drift off to sleep. So, the best time to have sex is when you're feeling good and you and your partner (or partners) consent. Let's get that straight. But apparently, other factors contribute to optimal timing as well, and a supplement company called Forza recently tried to solve the age-old mystery of exactly what the best time of day for sex is with a survey. Though they only surveyed 1000 people, which is a fairly small sample size and thus their findings should be taken with a grain of salt, what they learned was actually pretty surprising.
Apparently, respondents reported that sex was best first thing in the morning "because our energy levels are highest and it sets off endorphins in the body which makes us feel good throughout the day." While the survey notes optimal time for sex as 7:30 am, if you don't wake up that early due to your schedule, you can still get the benefits of morning sex by engaging in intercourse within 45 minutes after waking, according to findings by the researchers. This is because, as they've noted, energy levels are highest after rest, which contributes to increased stamina.
According to the study, morning sex also has the increased benefit of lowering blood pressure and stress levels, which can lead to a happier and more productive day. Though you may typically think of sex as a nighttime activity, it may be time to switch up your routine — for research.

Goodbye coffee break, hello afternoon delight. Science has revealed many secrets over the years but this one may be the most stimulating.
The best time of day to get busy is right around 3 p.m., according to hormone expert Alisa Vitti, because that’s the time when men and women are most in sync, Men’s Health reports . While men may perform best physically in the early to mid-morning (due to a testosterone boost), they hit an estrogen peak later in the afternoon, which makes them more emotionally attuned to their partners. Women experience a peak in cortisol levels right around then, which helps boost energy and alertness.
“While this may not seem like a logical set-up for satisfaction, given the previous endorsement of testosterone, the combination actually makes men more emotionally present during sex and better able to focus on a woman’s needs and satisfaction,” Vitti writes, in her book WomanCode, according to Men’s Health. Of course, same sex couples might have a different groove.
But if 3 p.m. doesn’t work for you, there has also been evidence to suggest that morning is the right time. One study of 1,000 people conducted by Forza Supplements found that the best time to have sex is about 7:30 a.m., about 45 minutes after the optimal time to wake up to achieve a perfectly tuned-up body clock. Researchers concluded that morning sex unleashes endorphins that lower blood pressure and reduce stress, setting you up for having a nice day. Of course, this was not exactly a super serious, peer-reviewed study by a major academic institution.
So don’t fret if you’re a big fan of the old Netflix and chill, traditionally a nighttime endeavor. The most significant findings in this arena may well require DIY research.

The best time to eat: When you’re hungry. Exercise: When you can. Have sex: Um… whenever possible?
For most of us, life’s practicalities determine when we do what. But for certain daily events, there may be an ideal time. “ ’When’ is the ultimate life hack,” says sleep psychologist Michael Breus, author of The Power of When. “Knowing when allows you to perform the ‘what’ and ‘how’ to your maximum potential.”
According to mounting research, those optimal times are dictated by circadian rhythm — the body’s 24-hour timekeeper, which regulates not only sleep but also body temperature, hormone levels, blood flow, and gut bacteria. This system has ebbs and flows, meaning that certain tasks done at certain hours will yield better results — for example, exercising when blood flow is high and stress hormones are low. What’s more, aligning daily activities to their prime times can boost long-term health, says Kenneth Wright, director of the University of Colorado Sleep and Chronobiology Lab. “The more we can live in sync with this biological cycle,” he says, “the better we feel.” Here’s what that means for your day,
Creative thinking and grogginess go hand in hand, says creativity researcher Mareike Wieth. Why? You’re not as able to focus or filter distractions when you’re sleepy; your mind wanders. As a result, says Wieth, “You’re better able to think outside the box.” Breus adds that because the brain moves new information from short-term to long-term memory during the final hour of sleep, the moment you wake up is also one of the best times to brainstorm ideas; any new information you’ve learned is more readily available.
His advice: Leave a voice recorder on your nightstand and use it as soon as you wake up, so thoughts don’t slip away.
A recent study of 18- to 51-year-olds found that most people have sex between 11 pm and 1 am. That’s the worst possible time, even if you haven’t had a few cocktails. Late at night, levels of sleep-inducing melatonin rise and testosterone is at its lowest. But while you sleep, testosterone levels start to climb, possibly to repair and build muscle for the coming day. When you wake up, testosterone levels are at their peak. Physiologically, this is when sex is your best bet. That’s not always possible, Breus acknowledges. “But,” he says, “I’d love for everyone to make a point of having Saturday-morning sex.”
After 3 p.m., the body grows more insulin-resistant, notes Wright. This can mean that instead of converting sugar to energy, it’s stored as fat. Eating big meals earlier as often as you can is helpful for a waistline, too. One study of 420 dieters found that those who ate their largest meal before 3 pm lost 25 percent more weight than people who ate heaviest at dinner.
Almost all of us exercise better during this window, when body temperature is higher, joints are supple, blood flow is enhanced, and the hormone cortisol (known to break down muscle tissue) is waning. That doesn’t mean you should drop morning workouts; behaviorally speaking, there is value to exercising before the demands of the day unfold. But when you have a choice, try to work out later in the day.
If you have a prescription for a drug labeled take one daily, chances are your doctor has advised you to take it before you fall asleep. Physiologically speaking, there’s good reason. Cholesterol drugs like simvastatin, for example, work better before bed because that’s when the liver also starts breaking down cholesterol, and the drugs can work in tandem with the body. Blood pressure pills may have maximum impact at night because some people with hypertension don’t experience a natural dip in blood pressure when they sleep. There’s even reason to take over-the-counter drugs that can cause stomach upset, like aspirin, right before bed: The side effect goes unnoticed when you’re asleep.
