Bentley University Announces New Sustainability Initiative as Part of 2030 Strategic Plan

Waltham, MA — October 10, 2024 — Bentley University, a leading business school renowned for blending business with the arts and sciences, has unveiled an ambitious sustainability initiative aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The announcement comes as part of the university’s broader strategic plan to enhance environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Under the new plan, Bentley will invest in renewable energy, expand green building standards, and integrate sustainability into its curriculum. Key initiatives include:

Carbon Neutrality: Transitioning to 100% renewable energy sources for campus operations.

Eco-Friendly Infrastructure: Constructing new LEED-certified buildings and retrofitting existing ones to improve energy efficiency.

Academic Integration: Launching new courses focused on sustainable business practices and climate economics.

President E. LaBrent Chrite emphasized the university’s dedication to preparing students for a rapidly changing world. 'Bentley has always been at the forefront of innovation in business education.
