Being a celebrity or simply being famous has its own pros and cons. The common perception is that celebrities or famous personalities have everything in life and they make a lot of money. When they’re on the red carpet they look like they don’t have problems and their lives are perfect, NOT! Let’s remember that they are human beings like the rest of us, they do get hurt, frustrated and stressed out like us. For those who love being in the entertainment industry here are some Advantage and disadvantage of being celebrity.
Celebrities get special tables at restaurants, best sit at theatres and VIP treatment at clubs or events. They get free parking at hotels or they cars are guarded at events.
Regardless of what they do in the industry they get a lot opportunities, like become an ambassador or spokesperson for brands (take people like Terry Pheto who was a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris and Bonang Matheba becoming brand ambassador for Revlon South Africa). Now many celebrities are becoming entrepreneurs after and while they have stardom.
Fans are the people who adore their celebrity idols. They can have celebrity crushes or even real life admiration for their idols. Fan mail and other forms of appreciation that celebrities receive can be inspirational, motivational and very humbling. After all, who wouldn’t like to have their own fans and followers?
Celebrities and other famous people are generally richer than the average joe. They have luxurious homes and cars, fancy gifts and expensive clothes, some feel fortunate enough to share their wealth with the less fortunate.
Lack of privacy is one of the biggest disadvantages of being a celebrity. Whatever they do outside their homes people know about it, like getting speed ticket, being a diva at mall and chill with their friends at restaurants everyone if not the world knows about the business.
We’ve all heard about those nasty cases of celebrity stalking that have gone out of control. Famous people are often followed or harassed by phone, email or messages by fans or followers who cross the line and become obsessed. Obsession can turn into threats and even physical harm.
They are judged for the clothes they wear, their bodies, make-up, personalities and cars that they drive. Newspapers, magazines, blogs, tabloids and social networks you can always find the rude, nasty, insulting, derogatory and lies about celebrity’s daily routine. It’s like we forget that they’re human beings, who are we to judge them for doing what they love?
Celebrities and other famous people cannot lead lives of a normal person. They will have to live in their secluded world and will generally be unable to do things that the average person can. This disadvantage of being famous can stop celebrities from indulging in the little pleasures of life like Going shopping to the supermarket, take walk, chilling at the park with their friends, having dinner with family at the local restaurant and playing ball at the neighbourhood playground.
For celebrity must be hard to find genuine friends, people who are there for you simple because they love you or they love hanging around with you. As we all know some people befriend celebrities because they have something to gain or they want something from them. Fake friends are sell-outs and dangerous.

Being a celebrity – such as a famous film star or sports personality – brings problems as well as benefits. Do you think that being a celebrity brings more benefits or more problems?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience.
Being a well-known personality has both positive and negative aspects. However, in my opinion, the benefits of being a celebrity outweigh the negatives. In this essay, I will support my stand by showing how fame elevates a person’s social standing and helps them feel good about themselves and the work they do.
One of the advantages of being a celebrity is that fame almost always brings riches. Celebrities are popular. This popularity makes them great brand ambassadors. Companies hire them to endorse their products because products promoted by celebrities tend to sell well. Since celebrities are rich they can buy just about anything they want without having to worry about the cost. Their popularity and their purchasing power make them feel satisfied with the work they do and help boost their morale.
Celebrities enjoy huge fan-following. Their fans regard them as role models and look up to them and follow their actions religiously. They do this with the hope of reaching the same level as their role models. Sports personalities like Roger Federer and Lionel Messi have numerous fans all over the world. Millions of children aspire to become champions like them. Thus it is evident how fame elevates a person’s social standing.
On the flip side, at times famous people can become victims of privacy invasion by their fans; such incidents, however, do not affect all of them. Some celebrities guard their privacy. Others don’t mind living in the limelight all the time. They enjoy the adulation they get.
To conclude, there are several benefits to being a celebrity. After analysing how fame makes a person rich and a role model for many, it is not hard to see that being a celebrity is an advantage, not a disadvantage.

Media knows that people admire celebrities a lot; therefore, it tries its best to capture their lives without considering the principle of privacy. The truth is that the fame and demand of celebrities thrive upon their media coverage. Therefore, they become compelled to bear constant surveillance of media. However, this surveillance can lead to extreme anxiety in a celebrity’s life due to privacy disturbance. Celebrities often have to hide in order to live a normal life. Apart from that, they become a victim of extreme criticism even for their tiniest mistakes.
It can be said that the life of a celebrity has its two sides: positive and negative. Celebrities have privileged to acquire monetary benefits. They can enjoy the luxuries of life and live their dreams. However, they have to sacrifice their privacy in order to achieve fame. Moreover, media and people lampoon them for their shameful acts. When a normal person does something wrong, he does not have to bear the embarrassment of being exposed to media. However, as a public figure, a celebrity has to bear such embarrassment. It is a fact that the life of a celebrity has many benefits, but its negative consequences cannot be ignored.

Many people are trying to get famous, many wish to be celebrated but they may not know that being a celebrity coupled with all its advantages also has a disadvantage. Celebrities are generally know for living expensive and luxurious lifestyle, judging from the videos and pictures they periodically dish out to their fans on social media, you will agree with me that celebrities are living the best of life. As it is said "everything that has an advantage also has a disadvantage". Below are the benefits and downsides of being a celebrity.

This may not be totally an advantage but people generally recognize you anywhere you are seen, that is why they always wants to take a selfie with you. As a celebrity, you can never pass unnoticed.
Celebrities are treated specially, wherever they go
When attending a ceremony, you don't expect to get the same treatment like a celebrity. They are known for getting preferential treatment anywhere they go.

Jealousy is everywhere, you don't expect everybody to like you in whatever you do in life. Being a celebrity also means having too many enemies.
Your privacy is greatly threatened when you become a celebrity
Just know that anything celebrities do always go viral. If Davido steps out with his first daughter, the entire world is going to know about it. As a celebrity, you lack privacy!
Being a celebrity also attracts too many fake friends

Sometimes being a celebrity is stressful
You will agree with me that attending shows, ceremonies, shooting music videos and visiting the studio can really be stressful, as a celebrity, people expects the best from you and trying to live up to their expectations can really stress you out.
