Suggest an edit. Singapore One of the best neighborhood cafes in Singapore. Percolate is located just a stone throw from Bedok Interchange - take bus no or 14 and stop at the second bus stop from the interchange. Turn right towards Bedok Avenue 3 just a short walk, merely 30 meter and you'll see the shop right in front of you at the junction. As mentioned, it's a neighborhood cafe, meaning it's located on the ground floor of a HDB flat. Small, intimate and customers seem to be more of a regular type although hipster wannabes do drop by over the weekend. Percolate definitely reminds me of Nylon coffee at Everton Park where it's not just about getting your business but the owner actually takes the interest to talk and get to know you more. It's like dropping at a friend's place for coffee after meal. No pressure at all. Alvin, the owner is friendly and will never fail to greet you as you enter. I've never browsed through the food menu but the croissant with savory filling seems like a crowd favorite so do try that if you're here for proper meal. Cakes and pies are stellar. I've tried the honey lavender cake and it was really good. Now, the coffee. They 2 regular blends are from Papa Palheta and Nylon roasters and while I dislike coffee from Chye Seng Huat hardware they're just horrible , the blend used here sorry forgot the name is pretty good. Four Chairs by Nylon is my to-go coffee all the time but occasionally i'll go for the former. Besides these two, there's always 'guest' beans for you to try. Right now, there's Common Ground one of the best roasters based in Jakarta , so if you're bored with the local blend, do give it a try! Service is always prompt and friendly, Percolate is the best you can get in the east, hands down. See all photos from Tzeko M. They use Meiji ice cream, which is too sweet and icy for my liking. The toppings were rather unimpressive - sorry tiny marshmallows are never a good sign for me. Service was great though and there's wifi. Not many seats and it's fairly small - I was in several people's ways when I was deliberating over what to order. I imagine it gets crowded on weekends. I was excited to see they serve oat milk! The espresso is awesome! It's one of those low profile local places where people actually care of what they do and they're doing it very well. You get a shot of sparkling water with each espresso and sparkling water and a few other drinks are available as well. There are a few food options - cakes, croissants and a couple of sandwich options. A bit disappointing is the fact that they only accept cash or NETS but given the size of their business, that's perfectly understandable and I'm still giving them 5 stars. There are a few food options, mostly sweet - cakes, croissants and since it's Christmas - a couple of Christmas muffins : A bit disappointing is the fact that they only accept cash or NETS but given the size of their business, that's perfectly understandable and I'm still giving them highest score. I find Bedok a very sleepy neighbourhood not a bad thing! As it's the only 'hipster' cafe in this block, it sticks out, but not like a sore thumb. Walking in on a Sunday during the late afternoon, it was packed and we actually had to wait a few minutes for a seat. The crowd was mostly locals, surprisingly no ang mos around. I ordered their macchiato while Migs had a kaya pandan croissant or something along those lines. The barista was upfront with me and told me that their macchiato is not like the Starbucks version and it's served as an espresso shot. I'm thankful for his heads up because I would've been one of those who'd think the former! The shot was really strong for me. I think it's what kept me up that night, forcing me to research buying a bike in Singapore oh God, I think I'm slowly turning into a hipster! I tried a little of the croissant and it was good. Not mind blowing, but simply the perfect afternoon snack. Very chill, local spot with strong coffee. I'd come back again. Great coffee, Friendly staff. What more can you ask from a cafe. Coffee is always good and they have a nice range to choose from. From the ordinary Americano, mocha, to a flat white to a latte. And they even have drinks for the peeps that don't take caffeine. They have sodas and coolers. They have nice snacks as well. Would really recommend their croissants. The curry egg mayo one is my favourite. Fresh, flaky croissant stuffed to the Brim with egg mayo. Certainly a meal in its own. The cakes they bring in are also fresh and tasty. And did I mention it's always a big piece. Goes very well with that subtle cup of coffee. And if you need a place to get some work done, it's a great place as well. With good wifi, and comfortable seating. But please practice some basic courtesy, come in and do these when they are not so busy, and don't hog the tables for too Long as well. It's a cafe and seatings are limited. All in all, it's a great cafe. And it's one I can call home. Great job guys. Decent good coffee. Enjoy their chilled ambiance Would recommend people to give it a try. I was surprised to learn there is a cafe in my neighbourhood. The place is easily accessible if you come here by car, bus or even by foot. The carpark is so big that I envy those HDB residents living there. Staff service was tip-top; friendly bunch of blokes. The cafe was just of the right ambience. It may look small from the outside, but I felt the place was cleverly and nicely put together that you don't feel cram like some cafes I've been to. Coming to the edibles, I had their chocolate tart, ice-cream topped brownie and white iced coffee All nice! No complaints. Will definitely come back. Cafe in da hooood! Always wanted to head down to try their coffees but oh man, the hours are never in my favour. Up till I managed to skip work!! Heck yeaaaaaaah They don't serve soy lattes but they do a good brew. But hey, it ain't bad. My tip would be grab a cuppa and enjoy them with any of their cakes. But before we tried their cakes, like any sane person I ordered lunch first. Had the smoked salmon with wasabi served in a croissant. Its alright. The cake I had was the lychee cream one. Kinda dry , they look pretty and awesome but I'll pass it up when I'm there next time round. Good service though it can get cramped but the coffee is their saving grace. Wine like I like here! Nice coffee, quiet, lovely environment, friendly staff.. Perfect for working alone with laptop.. Really loving it.. Recommend to try the Mocha! Better than Starbucks Fresh flower on every table.. Percolate Coffee has been around in the East for a bit but the location at the fringe of the Bedok heartland was and still is a deterrence to repeated visits. But upon word that they make a mean cuppa with the Nylon coffee beans in the east, i dragged myself out to this sleepy corner of Singapore for a couple of shots to regain my sanity. The cozy shop accommodates about 30 pax, which would actually be a squeeze already. It's not a place to linger for long over brunch, since they also don't do large plates. So far i've been lucky to be able to hang around for a bit over coffee and some bites. I always go for Nylon over Papa Palheta also offered here , as the latter tends to be too acidic for me. Filter coffee is also available here. If you like croissants, then you cannot miss these from B. The localized Pandan Kaya Gula Melaka one didn't rock my socks though. Percolate also has one of the most amazing Banana Date bread that i've tasted. I have a feeling it's from the Muffinry Drury Lane gets it from there too. It's a little salty and i found myself reaching for more water than I usually do after. Percolate is a lovely spot that I'd go back to again and again, if I'm in the East that is.
