Fashion is all about freeing the nipple , so it was only a matter of time before it started freeing the vulva , too.
Namilia is a Berlin-based design house helmed by Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl, and its latest collection is called “My Pussy, My Choice.” The collection, which showed at New York Fashion Week on Saturday, was a colorful display of garments and shoes adorned with both large and small renderings of female genitalia.
According to the show’s invitation, the collection was inspired by the 1748 novel “The Indiscreet Jewels,” written by Denis Diderot and published anonymously. It’s “an allegory that portrays Louis XV as the sultan Mangogul who owns a magic ring that makes women’s genitals (‘jewels’) talk.”
Models strutted down the runway proudly wearing images of vulvas ― some discreet, some not-so-discreet ― on collars, sleeves and skirts.

Not to mention, as any sexually charged event would have, the New York Post reports the models walked down the runway to Disney music.

But in the event that you — like me at age 13 , during the delightful stage known by endocrinologists as puberty — are plagued with the question of how to shave your vulva (the anatomically correct term for your hoo-ha, since the vagina is all internal), there are a few things to keep in mind.
First, don't do what I did and drag your razor back and forth across the skin as many times as you need until it's all smooth, like my decidedly cooler ninth-grade friend told me to. This, I can attest, leads only to unsightly ingrowns and tiny red bumps that will make you feel like a plucked chicken. Instead, follow these pro tips from CC Sofronas, co-founder of Pacific Shaving Co , ahead.
If you're gonna shave at all, trust me: your bikini line depends on it.
When choosing a razor for this sensitive area, consider the number of blades. "When it comes to the pubic area, less is more," she said. (You know, just to be safe.) "You don't need a 12-blade razor like you might for your legs, because that will just irritate the skin."
The magic number, then, is somewhere between three and six blades. (If you need a little help choosing, you could also consider the Dollar Shave Club 6-Blade vs 4-Blade Razor Starter Set ($8), which comes with two options to test what's best for you.) The non-negotiable? "You have to have a sharp razor blade — that's the first thing — and that you replenish the blade when required when it feels dull."

Over half the population has one, yet we’re still really, really confused about vulvas.
Almost half (46%) of 16 to 24-year-olds are not confident they know exactly what a vulva is, according to new research by the period care brand Callaly. So let’s get that cleared up from the start: the vulva is the external genitals, including your labia, clitoris and vaginal opening. The vagina is the bit inside.
But even among those who are clued-up on the anatomy, there’s still a lot of vulva hatred going on. Almost a third (29%) of people aged 16 to 35 have worried about whether their vulva was abnormal, while 40% of 16-24 year olds and 37% of 25-34 year olds wished they had a “neat, symmetrical shaped vulva”.
In addition to this, 22% of 16 to 24-year-olds and 15% of 25-34s have considered changing their vulva themselves, either by cutting or bleaching it, and 13% of 16-34s are planning to have surgery on their vulva. More than half (55%) of 16-24s and 40% of 25-34s agreed there is too much pressure on people to have ‘perfect’ vulvas.
But what even is the “perfect” vulva anyway? Spoiler: there’s no such thing.
To prove it, 10 brave participants have cast their vulvas in plaster, shedding light on how diverse vulvas really are. Some of them have also shared how their relationship with their vulva has changed over time.
“As a teenager, I started looking at porn and it was all white people,” said Rubina Pabani, a 33-year-old podcaster from Margate. “I noticed I had more hair and a different structure, so I immediately thought something was wrong with me.”
Another anonymous contributor added: “I felt so uncomfortable that I wanted to cut my vulva. I remember being sat on the toilet with a pair of nail scissors, ready to cut it off. At the time, when I was 11, I genuinely thought I was the only person who had a vulva like this but there are billions of different vulvas, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of. If we all looked the same, it would be really boring.”
Others supporting the campaign include Lydia Reeves, now 29, who had a distorted view of her vulva due to seeing porn aged 14 and was desperate to turn 18 so she could get labiaplasty. She didn’t end up getting the surgery and now makes body casts of people with vulvas to help them embrace their own bodies.
Vic Jouvert, a non-binary trans man, also took part, after going on testosterone and experiencing ‘bottom growth’. “It’s probably the most trans part of my body,” says Vic. “I mean, my whole body is trans, but I like that this part of my body is different from what you were taught your genitals should look like.”
Ginny, 24, who posts under @MyDisabledSexLife , is another ambassador, and wants to remind others that disability shouldn’t automatically be an obstacle to sexual pleasure.
Jody Elphick, who’s Callaly’s “vulva diversity campaigner”, hopes the photos will help others to gain a new appreciation of their vulvas.
“We knew this conversation was long overdue, but it wasn’t until we got the results of our research back that we realised how serious the problem is,” she said.
“For such a high proportion of people to be walking around thinking there is something wrong with their perfectly healthy vulva is nothing short of a crisis. We hope this campaign will help dismantle the culture of shame and secrecy surrounding vulvas, spark frank conversations, and encourage improvements in the education system so that future generations can feel more confident in their own bodies – whatever shape, size or colour their vulva happens to be.”

Now that we know what women think makes a penis attractive it’s only right we find out what makes a vagina attractive, or what makes it the world’s most beautiful vagina. The contest for the World’s Most Beautiful Vagina has crowned the world’s most beautiful vaginas, with the help of scientists, 130,000 voters, and 110 vaginas.
The contest, sponsored by Brian Sloan manufacturer of Autoblow 2 (an automatic blow job device) awarded winners money and a chance to live in vagina infamy by getting flown to Los Angeles to have their vulvas 3D-scanned for a future Autoblow device.
Sloan enlisted scientists to analyze the contest in a scientific manner and then compiled their findings in The Vulva Paper. The Vulva Paper's website explains, “[scientists] used the contest data to assess the diversity in vulval morphology and voters’ preference for different morphologies.” Meaning the 110 (photo) entries examined—64 entries being from the U.S.—were each measured for, among other things:
The entries were then classified into six categories of “vulval morphology,” which if you’re into, you can read more about it (and the study) here .
Scientists then sent random entries to individual voters who were asked to rate each vulva pictures from 1 (being the lowest) to 10 (being the highest).
The world’s most beautiful vagina belongs to U.K. resident Nell, 27, who won $5,000, with a vulva beauty ranking of 7.7. Jenny, 23, of Bavaria, Germany, was runner-up, winning $2,500 with a 7.3 vulva beauty ranking. Rounding out the top three was Anita, 20, from Hungary, who won $1,250.
