Tourists around the world are preparing to hit the beach now that summer is almost here – and they should do their best to avoid a repeat of these hilarious or embarrassing snaps.
Families have revealed cringeworthy images capturing ill-timed poses or amusing moments – from couples being photobombed by naked men to children suffering humiliating falls.
Too good – or bad – to be hidden away in a photo album, the holiday fails have been enshrined on the website Awkward Family Photos .
This family posed in front of the Golden Gate Bridge for a Christmas card photo, but was photobombed by a naked man
These family members had a similar problem when their photo on the beach was marred by a person in a very lewd position

With families taking road trips to their local beach or jetting off to places such as Spain or Jamaica, the collection is sure to get a few new additions in the weeks to come.
One of the snaps shows a smiling family posing for a happy photo on a beach – with a sunbather in a lewd position behind them.
A series of shots shows a young girl running ahead of her father in the sand before a humiliating face plant.
These photos are some of the best of the worst on AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com, a California-based website where people can share their embarrassing or hilarious moments with the rest of the world.
The six-year-old website is the brainchild of friends Mike Bender and Doug Chernack, who came up with the idea after Bender saw an awkward holiday photo on a wall inside his parents’ house.
A father and son will never forget this snap, which was taken during an all-inclusive holiday at a resort in Jamaica
These young girls didn’t realise what the writing on the rock meant until much later, according to the woman who submitted this picture

After realising there were probably plenty of similarly embarrassing photos in homes around the world, the childhood friends decided to create a friendly space where people could reveal them.
The website started with a handful of pictures, and has since amassed a massive cult following with visitors from around the world.
Within a week of its launch, Awkward Family Photos had received more than a million visitors a day and thousands of submissions.
It has spawned a successful book series and a line of funny T-shirts, and in 2014 the California Heritage Museum in Santa Monica hosted an exhibition featuring photos from the website.
