Battle of Midway

The Battle of Midway was the crucial moment of the Pacific War (which was the part of World War II). American Fleet managed to defeat the Japanese, and in the next year, the tide was turned with more victorious battles of the Coral Sea and of Guadalcanal. The batlle was important for the whole war, not only its Pacific Theatrer, and so it is interesting that it was fought in June 1942, right in the middle (or should I say «midway»?) of the war. It took 1007 days from the beginning of WWII on September 1st, 1939 (when Germany invaded Poland) till the start of this battle, and 1183 days from the end of the battle and till the end of the whole war (surrender of Japan, signed aboard the USS Missouri). By the way, cool Swedish band Sabaton has a track «Midway» on its album «Coat of Arms», love it!
