It's good that I can see this masterpiece. To be honest, I didn't want to go there. After watching I want to go to it again. The film is good. My rating is 10 out of 10.
Whats not to like, the movie was amazing, totally epic ! Way better than the dark knight, which lets be honest- only gets praised so high becuase of Heath ledger. The ONLY ONLY thing about this movie i didnt like was the missed opportunity do connect it to the joker movie, it would of fit so perfectly, but eah, oh well.

Matt Reeves is the only director who managed to make a movie with the essence of comic books. A dirty, gothic, corrupt, and unequal Gotham city. A complex story that holds the viewer from beginning to end. This movie is the only superhero movie that is better than Nolan's dark knight. In the same way that Christopher River was immortalized as Superman, Robert Pattison will be immortalized as The Batman with his Batman.
The first thing I want to say is that if you love action and don't like mystery, this is going to be boring. If you love the Marvel with lots of super hero action then you may hate this because it is like detective or mystery type of story.

For me, I loved it. Zoe did really well with Selena Kyle. Cat woman was always mysterious yet seductive. She did really well portraying that character or persona. Robert did great also as Batman but we didn't get to see much acting or any emotions from him because Batman is always serious and not enough scenes of Bruce Wayne. There needs to be more depth to Bruce Wayne so that Robert can show more emotions.
The best thing about this has got to be the writers!!! It was the best RIDDLER EVER!!!! They did Riddler justice. The story was amazing. Great job by the writers!!!

Personal all-time favourite. Amazing from casting, performances, artistic choices, and the wonderful score by Michael Giacchino. Additionally, performance by Jeffrey Wright more than exceeded an already high expectation, Robert Pattinson was superb, Collin Ferrel's The Penguin was an absolute delight. Zoe Kravitz additionally was a more than exceptional Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The cast overall showed great chemistry, and this movie does not fail to entertain.

Loved ever second on it. It's so moody and dark but the vibe is perfect. Pattinson is the best Batman. Loved his voiceover at the beginning and end. The ending was phenomenal. Literally some of the best cinematography I've ever seen. The way they brought Gotham to life with the blood soaked and rain drenched city streets is remarkable. Marvel needs to catch up.
This was exactly the batman film i wanted. First i want to talk about gotham, it is by far the best and most comic accurate gotham we have got, dark and gloomy and also just a rotten city like the jokers gotham. The acting performances were great and felt real, Pattison is now my favorite live action batman same goes with Gordon and Catwoman, the riddler is easily the second best performance of a batman villain after heaths joker paul dano nailed it, we also got the detective aspect of batman, many people complain because its too long but i enjoyed every single minute of the film, the music and cinematography were 10/10, i also forgot to include that the first 10 minutes of the film were the best batman introduction of all time, many people argue if its better than the dark knight, for me i prefer the batman but it really depends on whether you like a crime drama or a detective story with horror and s7ven vibes!

Amazing story line, amazing characters and plot, the cinematic and the photography was amazing in this movie the way it was directed and everything just goes to show how much Pattinson worked his ass off.
It's everything I hoped for and more. Matt Reeves' Dawn and War of the planet of the Apes are both very well crafted films, but The Batman has solidified his position as the best franchise filmmaker working today.

Rarely are films of this budget made so intricately and with such care. The strongest element of the movie is the filmmaking and style which is phenomenal. Every single frame is gorgeous and deliberate, giving the sense of a clear vision throughout. The movie is edited and paced perfectly. Sound is used so well; the weight of the bat suit can be felt as Batman walks from the shadows. Gotham feels alive and lived in, a city that no matter how hard you scrub and clean will always be dirty. A city submerged in darkness and a never ending rain. I was fully immersed in the movie from beginning to end.
The casting is also great. Robert Pattison has proven himself to be a great actor from "Good Time" and "The Lighthouse"; dare I say he's the best iteration of the Bat. Here Bruce Wayne isn't the playboy, instead his trauma still lingers to the point where he doesn't socialise out of fear of losing people close to him. Bruce Wayne is a natural extension of Batman, but it's all he has. There's even narration, which could easily bring down a scene but it's used so well and puts us in the head of Batman in a way that's not been done before. Robert Pattison's eyes are what make him standout from previous versions of the character, so much weight is felt behind them and every action from him is purposeful. All the supporting cast is great as well; Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, Paul Dano's Riddler, Jeffery Wright who embodies Jim Gordon and Colin Farrell who disappears into the role of Penguin. Not to forget Andy Serkis' Alfred.

The plot is reminiscent of the work of David Fincher. It's a carefully planned slow burn that's focused on its characters. It defies conventions of superhero movies; it's a small stakes serial killer movie with Batman as the detective and not purely an action movie. Sure there's some actions sprinkled around and those scenes are great, but it's not the focus. This is a take on Batman we haven't seen before and watching the story unfold was such a joy.
My only minor complaint was a tease towards the end that I felt wasn't necessary.

Matt Reeves was able to give us a wholly different look at the character of Batman while staying true to the original DC 'feel' of the caped crusader. It's a dark and gritty detective/crime story that sets the stage perfectly, in my opinion, for the evolution of Bruce Wayne into a more mature dark knight. No one can go through watching the murder of their parents without incurring deep, permanent, emotional scars, and I loved how Reeves and Pattinson were able to convey the very natural human emotions in a very real fashion -- without showing the same tired scene that's been way overdone -- and without making Bruce Wayne any less of a badass. The brilliant delivery of the combination of pain, anger, pathos, et al encapsulated everything that makes Batman, Batman. BTW, I seriously liked the fact that everything was done with real measure... no over-the-top theatrics, etc. All that went into the film, belonged.
I also rate Robert Pattinson's performance as the best Batman performance given to date. Yes, I'm a fan... but I became a fan because of his extraordinary talent as an actor (consider his roles in such movies as The Rover or Good Time for example). To claim bad casting simply because he got his big break in a teen vampire movie (where he also gave a superior performance, especially given the nature of the material) is just vitriol stemming from a jaded, elitest mentality. If you want a negative opinion about his performance in this movie to be taken seriously, lose the Twilight comparison, since there is no comparison to be made between movies.

Zoe Kravitz also turned in an excellent, believable performance. I thought casting her in the role of Selina Kyle was a great decision. In fact, I had no problem with any of the casting decisions... Paul Dano, Peter Sarsgaard, Colin Farrell, John Tuturro and all the rest were terrific. It all... simply worked.
My recommendation is just this: if you're a DC fan, watch The Batman and form your own opinion. Not everyone will feel it rates 9 or 10 stars, but I can't see how anyone could honestly and fairly say there were no redeeming qualities.

This movie is probably the best depiction of a very young Batman so far.
I was intrigued by the crime, the mystery, and the use of the underworld as a plot driver. The film was dark and gritty, and it held that mood throughout. I can see why some viewers might not love that, but I enjoyed kind of plunging into the dark and twisted parts of Gotham and if it has been light, bright, and happy, it would've been pretty disingenuous.

The thing is many people seems to forget that in addition to fighting crime with his fists and high-tech gadgets, Batman is also an accomplished detective. His strategy of using stealth to sneak around for clues as well as his superior powers of deduction are rivalled only by the likes of Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately, this quirk hasn't really been touched upon in past movies, instead focusing on the action-based aspects of the character, likely because most casual audiences would find these moments more fun to watch. That is, of course, until now.

So this 17 year old marvel kid hated batman and everything with about the character. Before the movie he called batman a villan and a guy in a cat costume, but to my surise this movie changed his liking about the bat. Now ha goes around in a bat costume saying "I am VENGENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!". As well as he stated himself that The batman (2022) featuring Robert Batson is better than Spider-man no way home:)

A Detective story, a story of hope. This is truly a thinking man's/woman's kind of movie. Reminds me of Seven, The Godfather Part 2, Sin City and The French Connection. It has thrills , mystery and at times horror.
Having been a huge fan of The Batman Trilogy by Nolan, I must admit how beautifully amazed I was with how relatable the whole city scenario felt... Robert has built the character throughout the movie which feels like an authentic journey of a superhero... The whole movie is set after the sunset and that gives it stand up with the dark theme... The story and inclusion of cat-woman adds on unlike the earlier random cat-woman characters... Every actor is a top cast in the film and the story develops throughout and this is a perfect detective movie. Authentic Batman film indeed.

Simply put, this film was absolutely incredible. A 3 hour epic that feels like 2. Genuinely feels like a graphic novel come to life.
Performances were great across the board. Hard to pick a stand out. Jeffrey Wright as Gordon took me by surprise and was one of my favourite parts of the film. John Turturro as Falcone was a nice surprise and Colin Farrell as The Penguin was brilliant. Paul Dano as The Riddler was also terrific and creepy; A fantastic villain for this film.

Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle was superb. Kravitz is easily the best Catwoman in a live action film. As for Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, he has shown time and again that he's one of the best actors of his generation; and here he shows it again. He doesn't really have a lot of lines, but his expressions tell you everything you need to know about how his character feeling or what he's thinking.
I think Pattinson is my favourite live action Batman (although no one will ever top Kevin Conroy from the Animated Series and the Arkham games) and I can't wait to see more from him. Unlike most comic book films, this very much felt like someone's vision. Matt Reeves did a brilliant job directing and Greig Fraser as cinematographer made this film look truly beautiful as he did with Dune last year. The soundtrack from Michael Giacchino was really good as his music always is.

I really don't have any legitimate complaints with this one. Other than that I feel it was too tame. I think it should have been a more graphic film. No idea why it was rated 15 here in the UK though. Yeah some very brief moments of CGI in a wing suit scene and the third act weren't great but they were so brief it doesn't matter. And yeah there was no real standout fight scene but that's not what this film was about. The film was focusing on showing Batman's detective skills and in that regard it succeeded where all other live action Batman films had failed.
This is one of the best comic book films of all time. Definitely the best since Logan (2017). Go and see this. I really hope this trilogy gets completed.

I was lucky enough to go to the fan first early screening of The Batman, and I can't believe I've finally seen it. I loved it. It's dark and definitely gets the detective side of Batman down. This is 100% a detective film. It's more comic-booky than Nolan's films but still doesn't lean all the way into it, which isn't necessarily an issue, but I'm hoping it gets more fantastical as we go. This is still early Batman and it shows. He's only two years into being the caped crusader, he's going to make mistakes. He's not the always-prepared Batman but I'm sure he's going to get there through future films. The action is brutal, the cinematography is beautiful, and the performances are raw. Jeffrey Wright might just be the best Gordon we've ever gotten, Zoë Kravitz nails the duality of Catwoman, Colin Farrell is unrecognizable as the Penguin, John Turturro is great as Falcone, and Paul Dano is creepy and yet very campy as the Riddler. Above all though, Robert Pattinson is an amazing Batman. You can tell he truly understands the character. I'm not 100% sure if he's my favorite live-action portrayal behind the character, but he just might be. I'll need some time to think on it. You feel the three hour runtime, but not because it's exhausting, but just because it really feels longer than an average film. It also just gives us more things to think about. Not one minute of it was I bored or not entertained, the plot and script are so good. It's a murder mystery, but you're not trying to figure out who the murderer is, you're trying to figure out who's next and why. It honestly made me feel like I was a part of the mystery at some points. It doesn't hurt that the film takes heavy influence from my favorite Batman comic,"The Long Halloween". There are a few things I'd change here and there, but those are really just nitpicky. I can't say enough good things about it and I can't wait to see what's next. Batman has made an impact on me through my whole life. Truthfully being someone I look up to despite obviously being fictional, and I know he's in good hands with director Matt Reeves. I'm definitely going to see it again as I feel I can think about it more as I was just taking it all in this time. It's a fantastic film and my favorite live-action Batman film to date. I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to visit Gotham again.

Batman and Gordon discover that the Riddler left a thumb drive in Mitchell's car containing images of Mitchell with a woman, Annika, at the Iceberg Lounge, a nightclub operated by mobster Carmine Falcone's lieutenant Penguin. Batman questions the Penguin, who pleads ignorance, but notices that Selina Kyle, Annika's roommate and girlfriend, works there as a waitress. After Annika disappears, Batman sends Selina back to the Iceberg Lounge to search for answers. Through Selina, Batman discovers that Savage was on Falcone's payroll, as is district attorney Gil Colson. Selina shuts off communication when Batman presses her about her relationship with Falcone.

The Riddler abducts Colson, straps a timed collar bomb to his neck, and sends him to interrupt Mitchell's funeral. They learn that the Riddler was a resident at the orphanage and holds a grudge against the Wayne family. Selina tells Batman that Falcone is her neglectful father. She learns that Annika was strangled because Mitchell told her that Falcone was the informant, and resolves to kill him. Batman and Gordon arrive at the Iceberg Lounge in time to stop her. Batman physically prevents Selina from killing Falcone, explaining that she shouldn't allow Falcone to destroy her future through murdering him and facing prison. Batman escorts a cocky Falcone to the police, while Falcone tells Batman that he knows of all Gotham's hidden secrets and underworld dealings and that everything he knows dies with him. No sooner does Batman bring Falcone outside to the patrol waiting than Riddler snipes Falcone from his apartment window. Unmasked as forensics accountant Edward Nashton, the Riddler is incarcerated in Arkham State Hospital. Nashton says that, as a neglected orphan, he was envious of the sympathy Bruce received after his parents' murder. He idolizes Batman-who inspired him to target the corrupt-and proposes a partnership, but Batman angrily rejects him.

Angered at being rejected by his idol, Nashton begins ranting to which Batman realizes that Nashton still has something planned. Upon realizing Batman hasn't figured out his next course of action, a delighted Nashton gives him one last clue by singing "Ave Maria," the song sung at the Mitchell's funeral to imply that the final part of the plan is mayor-elect Bella Real's assassination. However, Batman fails to realize this and exclaims, "What have you done!?"
Searching his apartment, Batman is inadvertently aided by a cop who shows him a carpet cutting tool which Riddler had murdered the mayor with at the beginning. Realizing this tool is another clue to uncovering the Riddler's master plan, Batman cuts open the rug of the apartment and discovers via a map drawn on the floor underneath that Nashton has stationed car bombs around Gotham. No sooner has he done this than an online video of Nashton's final transmission before his capture and incarceration plays, explaining gleefully that he had cultivated an online following that plans to assassinate mayor-elect Bella Reál.

The bombs destroy the breakwaters around Gotham and flood the city. A shelter is set up in an indoor arena, where Nashton's followers non-fatally shoot Reál but are stopped by Batman and Selina. Selina arrives and rescues Batman before kissing him, thanking him for preventing her from murdering Falcone. However, the member comes to and almost kills Selina with a knife. Batman sees a power line swinging just past the crowds in the flooded water below, throwing sparks everywhere as it flails wildly. Batman uses his grappling hook to swing toward the cord and grab onto it. Once he is hanging onto the cord, he uses his detachable bat emblem to sever it, causing him to be shocked by the electricity and fall down into the water. Batman rises from the water, lights a flare, and leads the survivors to safety. Batman aids recovery efforts and vows to inspire hope in Gotham, having seen that his weapon of fear has fueled the drive of vigilantes.
