Children in Korea and the United States shared friendship with each other through T-ball.

KBO held the "Korean-American Children's T-ball Hanmadang to Baseball" at the Children's Garden Baseball Stadium in Yongsan, Seoul on the 4th with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Sports Promotion Foundation.

The Korea-U.S. Children's T-ball Hanmadang, which goes through baseball, is a sports event in which families of South Korea and the United States participate together to mark the 70th anniversary of the alliance between South Korea and the United States. A total of 48 people participated in the competition, including 24 families from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' "Heroes Family Program" and 24 families from the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.

Jang Jong-hoon, Kim Dong-soo, Jang Won-jin, and Kang Sung-woo, KBO talent donation committee members, had a good time with the children, teaching them step by step from the basics so that children and their parents could learn basic skills for baseball such as defense, hitting, and base running.

An official from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said, "The 'Heroes Family Program' families who participated in this event are the bereaved families and children of those who died in the line of duty after dedicating themselves to the country. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement and the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance, the families of national merit were invited to remember the dedication of the heroes who defended the Republic of Korea. "I think it is more meaningful because the event was held at Yongsan Children's Garden, a former U.S. military base," he explained.

"Our embassy community is happy to participate in today's event," said Jin Liddy, a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy's public foreign affairs department in Seoul. I always thought about how to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance. Although South Korea and the United States have a close relationship through security and economic alliances, it is now important for the Korean and American people to establish a relationship between people and people. When we express the Korea-U.S. alliance, we say alliance, partner, and friend, but friends are really important. It is because it is a word that binds Korean citizens and U.S. citizens," he said, stressing the importance of the Korea-U.S. alliance.

"We have common values and passion, and cultural exchanges are growing," said Liddy, who said, "Koreans like American food, and Americans like Korean food. K-drama and K-pop are also gaining popularity in the U.S. Korea and the United States are also connected to sports, and baseball may be the representative one. "We talk about democracy with common values between Korea and the United States, and baseball is one of them," he said.

Baseball is a representative sport that is popular in both the United States and Korea. "That's why I think this is a really good opportunity," Liddy said. I'm more happy to hear that it's my first time having such an event with KBO at our embassy. I think today will be one of the most enjoyable memories while my family is in Seoul, Korea. I would like to thank KBO and legendary coaches who worked hard for this event, as well as everyone who supported me," he said.

"I've been to the baseball stadium when the NC Dinos came to Jamsil Stadium in Seoul," spokesman Liddy said. "I'm actually the furthest away from sports in my family. But my family really likes sports. I had a lot of fun at the baseball stadium," he said with a smile.

Michael Lindstom, who participated in the event, said, "I had a great time. If I have a chance, I want to come again. It was nice to have a good time with my new friends."

Lee Yoon-sung said, "It was really good and meaningful to play T-ball with my American friends and spend a precious time with my family." Lee Yoon-sung, who participated in the event wearing the LG Twins uniform, said, "I originally like baseball. I'm an LG fan," he said. "I hope the LG Twins win this year. I love you LG Twins," he said in a supportive message. 안전놀이터

Spokesman Liddy, who watched Korean and American children enjoy T-ball together, said, "Of course, it is important to be good at T-ball, but I hope the children will have fun and have a good time together in this good weather." In particular, I hope it will be an opportunity for American children to enjoy T-ball with their Korean friends, recognize their alliance with Korea, and return to Korea with good memories," he said.
