Yes, it bothers me to have dirty feet. Just as having dirty hands does. I prefer clean body parts. If I lived in different circumstances, like on a warm beach, then having dirty feet would no doubt not be part of my worries. However, I live in a civilized society and dirty feet don’t belong on my friends or family floors. I wouldn’t dream of wearing filthy shoes indoors, particularly into a strangers home, and wouldn’t dream of doing so in my own home.

You can’t remove dirty feet before going indoors so the considerate thing to do is to remove dirty footwear before going into someone’s house. Unless they have facilities for washing your feet at the door, as some beach homes have, going barefoot is very dirty. It’s not as some say a sign of being free spirited but a sign of inconsideration and laziness. Unless of course you’re at the beach. But please don’t come to my door with your dirty feet and feel that I’ll welcome you.
I often wonder how these people who have gone barefoot all day can crawl into bed at night with their filthy feet! I like clean sheets but wonder what their sheets look like and smell like. Do the dirty feet get a good washing before bed or do these free spirits just slide the blackened, germy feet into their dirty gray sheets?
Would you allow a baby or child to crawl on a dirty public carpet? Probably not but if you let people come into your home with shoes on you’re exposing your children and your own often bare feet ( when you’re home) to all the filth and nasty stuff people step in outdoors. Think animal waste, leaking garbage cans, tobacco spit and human phlegm that’s often coughed up and spit onto the street or sidewalk. The reality is that even good clean soil is full of microbes and viruses and bacteria. Do you really want to lie down on your carpet to read a book or play with your child if a dirty shoes person or a person who has gone barefoot everywhere outside has been tromping across your floors?
I’m not a neatnik by any means but I believe in changing sheets once a week, using fresh towels often and showering as needed. If you go barefoot all day outdoors please be considerate of those of us who aren’t as casual and please don’t come in to my home until you’ve either removed your shoes or washed your dirty feet!
Why do my feet get so dirty walking around my house barefoot?
What happens to my health if I walk around the house barefoot and sleep with dirty feet?
What is the dirtiest your feet have ever been?
How do I make my feet soles dirty quickly?
Do you walk barefoot before you go to bed and then go right to bed with your feet dirty like I always do?
Nope, it's like a car technician getting greasy hands, or a gardener having his or her boots covered in mud and soil. It’s no big deal and you can wipe or scrub any dirt off in less than a minute.
The three main reasons why I don’t bother so much anymore:

The three main reasons why I don’t bother so much anymore:
So I’ve developed a strong disbelief towards certain common but obsessive ideas about dirt and hygiene.
For example: a dash of spit is just spit, and a splash of spilt and dried up coffee on a pavement is, well, just dried up coffee. After all, in each case it would have been in some one’s mouth. Though it might not be a good idea to lick it up, touching it with your foot soles poses absolutely no threat.
Most street dirt is accumulated dust, held together by oily substances. There are probably billions of bacteria and other microbes living in it, but these are also to be found on door knobs, handles, railings, and every seat or table in public or domestic environments. And they are just as quickly and easy carried into your private domain by your shoes and hands.
Remnants of rotting organic materials (plants, insects, animals) are also everywhere around us, but apart from the toxic ones, some of it might even be sold as delicious foods or alcoholic drinks. The rest is just harmless.
And there is shit, everywhere. And I don’t mean a big and steamy fresh turd, but shit in various other kinds of shapes and forms. Dried up dog’s, bird’s, and insect’s poo, scattered into millions of microscopic particles all over the place, mostly invisible to the naked eye. And you know what ? Much of it can be found in lovely lawns, where everyone adores to stroll around, barefoot…
BTW, do you wash your shoes at least once a day ?

And if you do find yourself walking through mud or in areas where you collect dirt or other substances, it is easy to wash off, far easier and more effective than cleaning footwear, especially if it has tread. The idea that your feet get dirty from going barefoot is quite exaggerated.
I would also add that your feet are healthier and stronger the less they are in footwear, for reasons explained above, and because it allows for the natural movement of the foot. Going barefoot also balances and strengthens other parts of your body, regardless of the terrain you are walking or running on. This is what they were designed to do. This strengthens other body parts, such as ankles, calves, thighs and hips, and helps maintain your overall balance as you are in direct contact with the surfaces that you are walking or running on. It’s also fun, enjoyable and feels very liberating. In short, going barefoot positively impacts on your overall health, and I’d argue, contributes positively to your overall wellbeing.
So if you want to go barefoot, just do it, and don’t worry about a little bit of dirt.
Not at all, in fact I love it! I go barefoot everywhere year round so having dirty feet comes as a natural consequence. Since live in a region where it is cold several months out of the year, there are many times where at a given public venue, I’m the only barefoot person while everyone else has on both shoes and socks thus having blackened soles is my way of displaying that I been barefoot the entire day rather than just having just removed my shoes and socks. One November - a particularly warm one, I went for morning walks on the beach, and afterwards did my errands. It was pretty fun to see

One November - a particularly warm one, I went for morning walks on the beach, and afterwards did my errands. It was pretty fun to see myself in shorts and sandy feet while everyone around me had theirs covered in double layers.
I do make an effort however to clean the bottoms of my feet when I get home as I like to keep my floors clean and also put them up when relaxing as I do not want to get my furniture dirty. I also don’t like the insides of my shoes to be dirty as this promotes the growth of bacteria when wearing them, so I make sure to clean my feet before putting them on. And since I’m barefoot all the time at work, when meeting clients, especially for the first time, I make sure to clean the bottoms of my feet to eliminate the awkwardness when I cross my legs and reveal my soles. Of course if it’s someone I’ve known for a long time or have been doing business with consistently, they don’t mind my feet being dirty since bare feet are an integral part of my presentation.
Have your feet got so dirty that they could not be cleaned after one bath or shower?
My 13 year old daughter has started going out without shoes as a protest against gun violence. It has now been a month since she has worn any. She goes to church, school, shopping, and everywhere else barefoot. How long should I let this go on?
Have you ever been forced to go barefoot?
Is it okay to drop off my 14-year-old daughter at the mall barefooted? She likes to window shop and hang out with friends. Should I be concerned?
What should I do for constantly cracked and dirty feet?
Generally no, it does not bother me. It is only the soles of my feet that change colour throughout the day, tops of my feet stay the same.
It's nice sometimes to be somewhere and see other guys and girls unexpectedly barefoot, and they have dirty almost black soles. To me it means that they are free spirits who do not conform to society's expectations and have been barefoot all day. I've done this myself now and then in public places, but not often. But when I have done, the soles of my feet were black at the end of the day when I reached home.
That said, if say I was at the beach or at a friend

That said, if say I was at the beach or at a friend's house or with family members in their home, then I would probably be a bit embarrassed. And especially in other people's homes, it's disrespectful. But by all means have dirty feet in your own home. After all, it is your right and privilege to do so.
Generally I keep my feet clean. If I'm at home and the soles of my feet become grey then no issue. But if they become very dark due to outdoor activities, then I clean them up, either via showering or using wet wipes. Besides the dirt on the carpet, I keep my feet clean in case I have guests pop round unexpectedly!

Not at all. For the most part, my feet only get dirty on the soles (as do shoes) and I don’t bother washing them if I’m going places where people wear shoes. I don’t put my bare feet on things people don’t put their shod feet. Besides, they’re much easier to clean than shoes. There is one place I visit where the tops also get dusty and I’ll wash them before going into public places. I keep a can of wet wipes in the car for such times.

I have an outdoor shower with an extra faucet for washing feet that I can use before going inside. At this time, I don’t know anybody who removes their shoes before going into their homes, so I don’t wash my feet if they don’t care (I do ask first). Incidentally, with bare feet, you can feel when you need to wipe your feet. Shod people just have to trust that the doormat did its job. This applies when stepping into a car, too. How many shod people bother to wipe their shoes before getting into a car?
Yes of course I wash my feet if they’re dirty before going into bed. Duh. There is nothing lazy about going barefoot. Lazy would be to not wash your feet after they’ve been in hot sweaty shoes all day — and going to bed with smelly feet.
I have to wear shoes to work and I rotate between two pairs. I wash them every week or two anyway. How often do most people wash their shoes? I think shoes are the most unsanitary things people wear every day.
To me, dirty or black soles isn’t a badge of honor, it just is what it is.
Not at all, Dave and I are so used to it and get more compliments from others in Grocery stores, banks, all fast food restaurants. Here in Sin City, all of the Targets, Walmarts and all but one grocery store were cool with it. We had a couple ask to see our soles, and said “Way Cool” and shed their shoes. im a person who goes barefoot all the time at home as socks are plain uncomfortable
if we’re talking about just a little bit of dust or a few crumbs then it doesn’t bother me one bit and it’s unavoidable that you’ll pick up a few bits and pieces on the bottoms of your feet if your constantly barefoot, you can’t stop dust from getting inside of course.

Does having dirty feet bother you when you go barefoot?
Typically no, especially when I’m hiking or working outdoors on my property or elsewhere. If I’m going shopping I’ll wash them before leaving the house but I am never concerned with the soles getting dirty while shopping or walking to/from the store. The soles could be black and I wouldn’t care.
It’s somewhat a “badge of honor” to have dirty feet at various times. If they are excessively dirty or muddy, I’ll use the garden hose to wash them off before entering the house, though. It makes housecleaning an easier chore.
Not while I’m being barefoot. (Note: my barefoot-outdoors days disappeared with childhood; stickers/goatheads/burrs are all over the place where I now live. No one goes barefoot outside their carefully cared-for lawn, which I don’t have.)
But I’m always barefoot in the house, which means dirty feet by the end of the da
