Janet Mayer/Splash News Online Logan Vincent is saving the drama for his mama ! Tamar Braxton-Herbert may have named her son after soap opera character Brooke Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful , but her baby boy is drama-free. “My baby sleeps [well]. He’ll go to bed at 10 and wake up at 8 or 9. Nothing like his mama — not dramatic at all,” Braxton-Herbert told PEOPLE at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Saturday while walking the red carpet before the taping of the 2014 BET Honors, which airs Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. EST on BET. With no crying through the night, Braxton-Herbert and hubby Vince Herbert are getting “five or six hours” of sleep. And while the new mom is happy that Logan isn’t up all night, she’s ready for him to hit his next milestone. “He won’t crawl, but he’ll stand all by himself,” says Braxton-Herbert, 36, who posed for cameras with her own mom and husband. “I just don’t get it. I’m ready for him to crawl so I can have him crawl around the bed and pick him up and do all that cutesy stuff, but he refuses. He’s very insubordinate — just like his dad.” While singing is a Braxton family trait, it appears the 8-month-old isn’t a fan. “He doesn’t [care for] singing that much,” she explains. “When I was pregnant with him, I recorded my album and he used to ball up real hard. And he does the same thing — just stares at me, like, ‘What are you doing?” The reality star — who later honored Motown legend Berry Gordy with a performance of the Diana Ross classics “Upside Down” and “Do You Know Where You’re Going To?” — sparkled in a figure-hugging, gold gown. And she credits ending her love affair with food for her slimmed down, post-baby body. “I had to stop with the food. I tasted everything when I was pregnant — from the rooter to the tooter of the pig,” she says with a laugh. She admits to trying to go “almost vegan,” but her love of snacks got in the way. Now, she’s given up her favorite junk foods: ice cream and Doritos. Despite everything on her plate, Braxton-Herbert says that there’s always time for romance . “We have date night quite often,” she says. And with Logan’s first Valentine’s Day approaching, this year it will “definitely be a family affair .” As for other surprises in the singer’s life? Every mommy moment. “I had no idea I would love motherhood . I thought that I didn’t want [any] kids,” she says. “I almost missed out on the best thing that ever happened to me.” — Arnesa A.
