Jessica Williams, also known as Wojciechowski, 25, of Ballarat, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to offences, including drug trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime. She was jailed for six months with 65 days already served in custody on remand. Upon her release she will commence a month corrections order with 75 hours of community work. She will also be required to undergo assessment, treatment and testing for drug abuse. Magistrate Mark Stratmann said Williams believed she 'had the market' for the distribution and sale of illicit drugs in a number of towns in western Victoria. He said illicit drug use in small country communities led to unemployment, criminal behaviour and 'a loss of confidence in a worthwhile life'. The magistrate said a report from the Office of Corrections raised good prospects of rehabilitation for Williams, who he said was 'not a young offender but a young person who is still starting out in what would hope to be a long and fruitful life'. He noted Williams' early guilty plea and clean criminal record. The magistrate urged Williams to utilise her time in custody and 'do whatever programs you can do and once released comply with that community corrections order'. Williams was arrested on July 20 after she and co-accused Barry Hollis, 43, also of Ballarat, were observed leaving a known drug trafficker's house in Hamilton about 7. The pair was intercepted by police and uncooperative when questioned. When asked to exit the vehicle, Mr Hollis allegedly locked the car and threw the keys onto the roof of a nearby house. Police believed the keys were thrown in order to prevent officers from searching the car. CFA attended, located the keys on the roof and the vehicle was subsequently searched. Inside the car was a blue box containing 9. The court heard the 9. The pair was arrested, interviewed, charged and remanded in custody. A search of William's handbag uncovered one gram of ice, 10 Valium tablets and hundreds of unused deal bags. One text message showed four bags of methamphetamine, which Williams referred to as 'beautiful candy'. Another text message sent from her phone said: 'I'm supplying all of Ballarat, half of Melbourne, Horsham, Warrnambool and Hamilton. I'm on my A-game. Williams also pleaded guilty to criminal damage after she broke a window at the home of her ex partner. Have you signed up to The Standard's daily newsletter and breaking news emails? He yesterday pleaded guilty at Ballarat Magistrates Court to five charges including trafficking ecstasy and cannabis. The investigation, code-named Operation Jedi, targeted an 'extremely sophisticated' and violent Melbourne-based syndicate. The court heard police seized two clandestine drug labs, 8kg of ecstasy, 5kg of amphetamine, a submachine gun and a pill press. Clay was described as a 'very, very minor player' in the syndicate and a newcomer to the drug scene. The court heard Clay also bought about g of cannabis, selling about g to buy more ecstasy. Defence lawyer Mike Wardell asked the court not to jail Clay, saying he had co-operated fully with police and embraced counselling. Clay was sentenced to five months' jail, suspended for six months, and placed on a six-month community based order to address drug and alcohol abuse. Login or signup to continue reading. Love footy?
