Baldessarini Private
Private Affairs Baldessarini for men
Someone said it has a nostalgic vibe and I'm definitely agree with it.
It's a nice scent. It's smooth.. creamy...a little bit sweet on the base..just a little.
absolutely safe, and thank god there's nothing sharp or harsh about it.
So clean and smooth and soft and high quality..
It's a lovely scent.
Enjoy it.
Very well blended, soft, high quality leather with Bergamot & Sandalwood nuances. Has a nice, sophisticated aura that is even a bit nostalgic and timeless. Love it!!
Soft, warm leather with a zest.
Private Affairs is simple formula with beautiful result. It is mainly a soft, warm and woody leather/sandalwood scent with a bergamot zest to freshen it up.
Soft, easy, appealing.
Mature cool weather wear. Below average performance, unfortunately.
Big "Like".
Generic leather over a synthetic sandalwood base. Skin scent for the most part. There's a strange funk to it as well. Pass.
Um, it's okay. I put 'Like' since it's not gross, but kinda disappointed here. I don't get leather so much as I do rubber or dental latex gloves, lol. If you want a more convincing leather smell, hunt for Canali Style. It has leather and bergamot too so I hoped for that from this. Seems like a soft smell too...private affair indeed...three sprays and I have to huff my arm and I just sprayed it lol. I paid like $40.00 for the 90ml from FragranceX...is that why it sucks? No clue.
Im rocking this cologne today. I was looking through my collection for something I havent worn in a while and found this still in the box towards the back of the shelf. Never worn!
Thoughts at first spray "wow sharp opening" but then smooth on the dry down. I get the leather and some type of amber vibe on the dry down. But stays close to the skin. Not a beast of a frag but it gets the job done. Especially for work. 6.5/10 based onmy collection. Good frag but i probably wont reach for it much. looking for a Baldessarini powerhouse. i curretnly have this and amber which i kinda love. open to suggestions.
Hidden Gem!!!
It smells like fresh out of the package leather goods. Like brand new leather luggage, or purse, or brief case. Before it looses that new store smell.
So basically, it reminds me of shopping. So I am soooooo on board. Yes please
I see this as a real winner for some.
I get a dark almost encre noir like smell in the opening, then some powderness comes through and then some slightly sweet amber comes through.
It develops in reverse and that is really odd. It does seem a little synthetic, but it is pleasant overall.
I kept thinking I was smelling rum and leather overwatching the scent.
I find encre nior l extreme to be much better, but this could be a love for someone else.
Suits the 30 plus crowd IMO.
try getting the shower gel on one of the sites..very emmolient and a little goes a long way suds wise...super sexy smell that really extends the edt.....makes your bathroom smell great even after your done showering.......makes skin feel nourished.
Addendum........Im so glad this frag does NOT contain patchouli or cardamom.........im so over those used to pump up the basics.
One of the best real leather scents IMO...not sweet! I am a fan of aromatics..not sweet scents. Today so many scents are overly sweet w/vanilla/tonka etc. This is a mature scent but not an old man scent as is intimated further down. Soft and sophisticated. Dry leather and a bit animalic. which i love. Manly and easy to wear. Not a lot going on and that's fine w/me....a simple leather..the kind you smell w/great Italian fine shoes. One of my fav purchases in a long time. Price wise its a steal.
I know it reminds me of something i have smelled in the past, but for the life of me i cant put my finger on it. It has a 1970's 1980's vibe, of a good quality vintage juice. Something my grandpa or Dad would wear for Sunday mass when i was a kid. I get the citrusy bergomot opening, and 10 minutes later tones down to a soft woody with hint of leather type scent. The image i see with this scent is :
-a man in his late 60's gray hair, well dressed, retired, smooth shaven, successful, drives a vintage all original car.
This is not a scent for the young crowd. Strictly for the office, or a corporate type setting, and this would make a nice gift for a man above 55yrs plus of age.
I blind bought this at Nordstrom rack for 30bucks. I wouldnt buy it again for myself. and most likely I will spray this on after a late night shower during cold season, to cuddle up with the wifey.
This is a scent that grew on me since I first got it. The projection is weak but you have to spray a little bit more (even up to 10 sprays) in order for it to last and project. Excellent leather note that for some reason reminds me of the smell of the interior of a new car. Worth sniffing out! Beautiful bottle that easily puts Tom Ford's private blend bottles to shame.
8/10
Jassar and Rob Frost's reviews are spot-on. This scent is under-the-radar in that so few folks seem aware of it. I'd call the dry down "smooth," in that the wood, leather and an ever so-slight powdery effect meld together to create a somewhat dry, fleetingly sweet, airy feel. Maybe it exudes an aura of "approachability" if that's possible? I can see how many would find it good for office wear or a quiet night out. It's amazingly inexpensive for what it is, just keep in mind that the longevity and silage may be reflected by this fact. Still, good casual/office wear.
Opens with a short blast of bergamot for 5 minutes then it goes into the mid and base very quickly. There is nothing sharp in this at all. Basically a leathery semi-sweet fragrance that is very masculine. Many will complain about projection but I love it this way.
a nice scent but very close to boss bottled night!!!! i prefer strictly private by baldessarini!
I like this perfume. very classy, elegant. not cloying. just enough. Perfect!
really this perfume not discover good perfect one with unbelievable base
In three words: sweet, woody leather.
It's too sweet and warm for summer times or for the office, but nice for cooler, more casual days and nights. The sweetness is prominent, but not overbearing and of the woody, not the citric, fruity or floral kind. The scent isn't fresh by any means, but not stale or dusty smelling, either.
It's rather simple and linear than complex, rather uncomplicated than edgy, rather like a supple, light, brown leather jacket than a black, heavy, rigid leather coat.
The sillage isn't bad. 90 minutes after application one and a half sprays on the back of my hand project stronger than several other scents that I own.
Longevity is acceptable. After three hours, the leather note begins to fade. The sweet woody note stays a couple hours longer, closer to the skin.
PLEASE Baldesarinni, PLEASE U have to do somethin about the never ending LONGEVITY PROBLEM lurking in all your nice fragrances, "strictly private" was wonderful and so is this one but like always it deosnt last at all, atleast not on my skin, I dont know which luxurious guy wouldnt wanna have the whole world know what he is doning and thats a problem if the fragrance disappears in 3hrs tops, YOUR Best SIR is still "Ambre" I wish U would make an edp of it, I would be all over it, by the way, the leather in here is really marvelous and the sillage isnt bad for the first two hours too.
Baldessarini Private Affairs - scent that does not seem hard but not boring, not fresh, it is such a delicate aroma with notes of leather, I'd nearly Light Bandit
The sillage is comparable to most scents, on me its just as good as the sillage of allure sport

Private Affairs carries on the "floral for men" style of Strictly Private. The fragrance starts fruity, but soon becomes powdery - the powderness is formed not by the vanilla, but by leathery base. Definitely, this one is the most leathery scent I've ever heard, the mood of leather seats in the car or of the new leather coat here really exists. And I like that this effect is reached without so popular now notes of iris, tonka beans, or other sweet notes. Just leather, some woods, a bit of citruses and maybe musk.
The one problem is that Private Affairs seems to be watery. I wish it were more intense. The sillage is poor, the juicy stays close to skin and is hardly detectable, but at the same time it is extremly comfortable to wear it. The longevity is good.
The scent isn't very original, but at the same time it doesn't remind of anything else. Good work.

Either I got a counterfeit version or this stuff is just plain terrible.
I blind bought and upon spraying it, it had the worst gasoline/ISO smell and only after an hour did it start smelling acceptable. Gave me a sore/raspy throat, and the dry down was hardly even perceptible. All in all not worth the hour-long intoxicating wait for a semi-decent smell...
Also no sillage or projection.
I'd say stay away from this stuff, even at a bargain!
Just your average scent. Worth a blind buy due to price and quality... this just isn't for me. Longevity is 6 hours and projection is about 2 good hours before turning to a skin scent.
This requires patience.
If you are the type to base your review on first sniff, you will not like this.
It opens with a prominent leather note coupled with a dull sweetness and vague electricity.
As another reviewer mentioned, it does smell like cheap leather, with hints of gasoline? or whatever chemicals are used to process lower grade leather. Fortunately that phase is over in less than 30 minutes.
The electricity (vibrance, luminescence, etc.) shows up in full force now putting every note into perspective. And that's when this shines.
Overall, it wears like a niche offering, something like Andy Tauer would create: seemingly simple notes structured in irresistability.
When I first took a sniff of this I was shocked; it smells literally like leather. Instantly, a classic, elegant black leather jacket came to mind, and I was impressed.
It also has good presentation, with a very slick looking bottle of black and silver.
I instead bought a different cologne, but I kept thinking about it, because to me (with my novice experience in dealing with fragrances) it was very unique. So I went back and bought it after a few hours.
After spraying it on me again and smelling it as it evolves, I wasn't sure I was glad I did. To me, the initial burst is all leather, but then it changes to what smells like a bad or annoying leather, perhaps a knock-off. At this point I got a little worried, but after giving it more time, it settles into a very pleasant, masculine, and some what sweet fragrance that still retains it's leather scent.
I can imagine wearing this at a business event, hanging out with a few gentleman while indulging in a glass of scotch, or perhaps other formal type events. It has a quality about it, definitely something masculine, strong, sturdy, noble. It reminds me of the fiery natural instincts that burn in men, but this specific man, while perhaps indulging those desires through a hunt, and adventure, or the like, remains refined, elegant, yet proud.
Smells like a leather coat which is a good thing. Problem is that it smells like a cheap leather coat. The notes clash and the dry down is irritating to the nose. I like the bottle, but the juice inside isn't nearly as good as the presentation.
Worth sniffing out! This is a scent that grew on me since I first got it. The projection is relatively weak but you have to spray a little bit more (even up to 10 sprays) in order for it to last and project. Excellent leather note that for some reason reminds me of the smell of the interior of a new car. Overall: 4/5Pros: awesome bottle that easily puts tom ford's private blend bottles to shameCons: weak projection"
