Zenci literally means black person, and it was never associated with racism. Lately, some people started to pick zenci as a translation of the Word 'nigger' due to the lack of an equivalent word and forced a negative meaning to it. However, my uni friends were completely Okay with it because it is the way of adressing black people in Turkish.
