It could be because of the pose, it could be because of the situation (a dance, for example), or it could be a combination of all of these things.
By Aya Tsintziras Published Jun 24, 2019
It might be a cliche, but many dads-to-be are excited about having a boy and many moms-to-be are thrilled if they find out that they're expecting a girl. Of course, everyone wants a healthy baby... but no one can really lie that they have a preference at least at first.
The truth is that sometimes, we see photos of a dad and his daughter that seem a little bit off. It could be because of the pose, it could be because of the situation (a dance, for example), or it could be a combination of all of these things. All we know is that we think, "This doesn't seem all that appropriate."
Here are 15 father daughter pics that are so inappropriate.
This photo is of a girl and her dad before a purity ball, which means that she has decided to save herself for her husband. Yes, there is an actual dance about this. And yes, that would be strange enough, but this photo really takes things to another level.
We would say that it would better if her eyes weren't closed and yet it would truly seem just as inappropriate.
From a young age, we learn that eye contact is a good idea. It's polite to look at the person who is speaking to you. We especially want to make solid eye contact on a first date or during a crucial job interview.
We can't say that the eye contact between the father and daughter in this photo is all that great. In fact, it gives us a strange feeling and it's really over-the-top.
If we didn't know that this was a photo of Brooke and Hulk Hogan, we would probably think that this was a picture of a couple. After all, look at this PDA.
But we know that this is actually a famous father and daughter. It's definitely a strange photo, and we wouldn't be approaching our dad like this...
Many people would probably say that this dress is the first problem with this photo since the straps are a little bit much. Or maybe there are too many straps?
Besides the dress, this dad's glare is unnerving. It's tough to see what the big deal is since teenage girls go to dances all the time.
Socks are typical Christmas presents, and no one is that thrilled to receive them. Fancy underwear, on the other hand, doesn't seem like the best holiday gift.
And a photo of two girls holding up underwear with their dad in the background? That's definitely inappropriate. They look pretty excited about their new undergarments and that makes it even weirder.
Liv and Steven Tyler may be close, but we're going to have to say that they are too close for comfort, at least in this photo. He has his arms around her and she's holding onto his hands, and it's just not what we would expect to see. If they had been standing further apart, that would totally change the whole photo.
When Miley Cyrus and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, took these photos for Vanity Fair in 2008, people couldn't stop talking about how it seemed off that she wasn't totally covered up. These photos definitely don't seem like they are super appropriate. In the one on the left, she's gazing into his eyes, and on the right, their poses are better suited to a couple.
A photo of a dad and his two daughters should, in theory, be pretty adorable. This one falls into the inappropriate category because of two things: this father's beard... and the intense look in his eyes. He should look much happier than he actually does... and maybe trim the beard a little bit.
Angelina Jolie and her dad, Jon Voight, aren't the most close and connected father and daughter in the celebrity world. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
It's surprising to see this photo of the two of them since they have their arms around one another and she's smiling big with her hand on his shoulder.
If this girl had been striking a ballerina pose and that was the entire photo, it would be beautiful. There's no denying that, especially since the landscape of this picture is incredible. The blue sky, mountains, and rolling hills are like something out of a painting.
The fact that she's holding tightly onto her father makes it seem just a little bit inappropriate.
Everyone has heard dads joke about wishing that their daughters would leave dating until they were in their 30s. This dad decided to literally give his daughter a t-shirt with his face on it that says "try me."
There is no way that we couldn't think that this was a weird t-shirt. And there is no way that this was the right thing to do.
When a teenage girl goes to a dance, it's pretty cute when she takes a photo beforehand with her dad. When he wears a robe (and stares at the camera like he is not impressed at all), things get odd and fast.
This is another inappropriate father/daughter picture and they both look super uncomfortable. We wonder if she had a date, and if he stared at him like this, too?
This is another photo of a dad and daughter before attending a purity ball, and like the other one, it seems really intense.
In this photo, both the father and daughter have their eyes closed. We really don't have that many words to describe this. All we can say is that it's not your typical photo.
Dads may think it's hilarious to say that their daughters shouldn't go out with boys, but honestly, it's kind of old-school at this point to act that way. It's also inappropriate to literally stare at your daughter and her date before she heads over to her high school for a dance.
These 15 father/daughter photos are definitely inappropriate, and we would have to say that they give off pretty weird vibes.

Guidelines have been provided by experts in the fields of psychology and sociology to help parents be aware of what is and isn't appropriate to share
By Jessica Larsen Published May 28, 2017
Moms these days are under a lot of pressure, and social media doesn't make things any easier. Platforms like Instagram and Facebook have given us the ability to peek into each other's private lives. Instagram has become the go-to way for mommas to share proud moments, embarrassing moments and adorable moments with friends, family and the world, for better or for worse.
Guidelines have been provided by experts in the fields of psychology and sociology to help parents be aware of what is and isn't appropriate to share on their social media accounts. Among things it is recommended that parents do not post are pictures of children without clothes on, children when they are sick or injured, children on the potty, children being punished or shamed, and anything else that may at some point in a child's life come back to haunt him or her.
Every now and then, an Instagram post is deemed "inappropriate" by the general population, and goes viral as a result. The following 15 Instagram photos broke the internet, and nearly everyone gave their two cents on why the pictures in question were or weren't appropriate. We'll let you decide for yourself how you feel about the questionable Instagram pics that follow.
Hilary Duff got the whole world talking after a photo she shared on Instagram of herself sharing a smooch with her son, Luca, at Disneyland majorly offended some of her followers. Duff captioned the sweet shot, "Happiest happiest happiest happiest happiest happiest happiest happiest place on earth! We love you @disneyland"
It wasn't long before fans were letting her know how inappropriate the photo was in the comments section. Many told Duff it was beyond unbecoming for her to kiss her son on the lips, while others stood behind the actress, assuring the actress, and the angry commenters, that they did the same with their own tots.
Duff was undeterred by the haters and unapologetic for the pic. A few days after comments about the picture exploded online, she posted a photo addressing her "inappropriate" post. She posted another photo to Instagram with the following statement: "For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is 'inappropriate' go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgment."
Mother-of-two Kim Kardashian West built her fame and fortune on her sexuality, and hasn't shied away from her sensual side since becoming a mother. Her Instagram account is wildly popular; the reality star currently has over 100 million followers. Some applaud her choices, and feel she shouldn't stop snapping sexy selfies just because she's had some babies. Others feel it's time for her to cover up.
A selfie Kim posted of herself in her birthday suit, accompanied by the cheeky caption, "nothing to wear," caused no small stir, and sparked a Twitter battle for the ages. 19-year-old actress, Chloe Grace Moretz, was quick to let Kim know the photo was in poor taste.
Moretz took to Twitter soon after the photo in question was posted to let Kim have a piece of her young mind, and stated, "@KimKardashian I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies."
Kardashian responded with a scathing tweet of her own, stating, "Let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is. Your Nylon cover is cute boo.”“
Moretz later told Glamour magazine, "That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence. It wasn’t a #BodyConfidence or #LoveWhoYouAre. It was done in a slightly voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young women to see. I would hate for young women to feel they need to post certain photos in order to gain likes, retweets, favorites, and male attention."
Former Playboy model Belen Rodriguez shared a video on Instagram of herself and her little boy, Santiago, that had many of her 5 million followers up in arms, calling the clip "erotic." The video has been viewed over a million times, and shows the Argentinian beauty taking her son's chin in her hand and turning his face towards hers. She then makes a silly face at the camera as little Santiago giggles. What happens next is what had many of her fans feeling a bit disgusted. She briefly puts her tongue into her boy's mouth, then playfully wipes whipped cream onto his nose as he continues to laugh happily.
One user commented, "You just have to feel ashamed!" And another chimed in that licking another person was, "never an affectionate gesture, but erotic." A third disgruntled follower commented, "You're not a cat." Not everyone felt the video was unseemly, and some jumped in to defend Rodriguez. One user stated, "I do the same with my daughter and I don't see that is perverted." A second shared, "He seems like a happy and sweet child. I don't understand what you see here that is not right!"
Rodriguez has never publicly commented on the video, or the backlash it received. She has, however, continued to post adorable, if a bit borderline sexual, pics of herself and her son on her Instagram account.
Former Teen Mom star, Farrah Abraham, is used to being criticized by those who feel she isn't raising her daughter, Sophia, in an appropriate manner. Abraham is known for regularly posting pictures to social media that feature her dolled-up daughter. A recent selfie Abraham shared on Instagram of 7-year-old Sophia clad in a bikini for an Orlando photo shoot has caused many to question if she's fit to be a parent.
One commenter stated, "This child should have stayed with her grandma, this parent is going to ruin this poor child’s life. That makeup? That sexy bikini pose? She’s like 7.”
Another blasted Abraham's parenting choices, stating, "There is one thing if a parent is taking these pictures in a family vacation but Sophia is a little too young to be doing a professional photo session with full makeup and hair !!!! For those who say they have done this when they were a kid and see no issue with it, unfortunately the world we now live in is a scary place..."
UK mother Sue Moseley was so proud of a cake her daughter, Jenny, made, she posted a picture of the culinary masterpiece to Instagram. It wasn't long before Moseley's account was disabled, apparently because the cake's impressive decor resembled nipples. The fruit cake in question is a traditional dish, usually made during the Easter season. It is topped with 11 marzipan balls, used to represent the 11 faithful disciples of Jesus. Instagram didn't get the symbolism, and instead flagged the cake as inappropriate content.
Another of Moseley's daughters, Fiona, wasn't going to allow the reputation of the lovely creation her sister had baked to be dragged through the mud. She posted to her own Instagram account, "Dear @instagram this is a cake, not a boob #censorednipples #boobgate #givemymumbackherinstagramaccount."
Fiona told Mashable.com of the incident, “I can only assume they’ve got some kind of recognition software that flags anything that looks remotely like a naked body part...My mum was really sad about it as she has lost all her Instagram photos and her account. She’s the loveliest person and only posts photos of her family, holidays, and food, and for that they’ve suspended her.” Despite Sue's "inappropriate" post, her account was eventually reactivated.
Christina El Moussa, star of HGTV's Flip or Flop, has been in the spotlight a lot lately due to her recent split from Tarek El Moussa, the show's other star. A photo she recently posted to her Instagram account of herself and her 6-year-old daughter, Taylor, in which the two sport matching lavendar bikinis, had the internet abuzz with disdain.
In the infamous photo, which was apparently a promotion for a bikini line, El Moussa holds the family's newest addition, a French bulldog named Cashie, and Taylor has a sprinkled donut in hand.
One commenter said of the photo, "That is completely inappropriate! I am done with your show you are not making good mother choices." Another chimed in, "I agree. What mother does this???"
Other fans of El Moussa were quick to come to her defense. One follower wrote, "I cannot believe how some women have negatively commented on this photo." Another added, "Haters gonna hate great pic you look gorgeous."
While many threw shade on the photo, the majority of the over 2,000 comments the pic received were positive. A third supporter commented, "You look beautiful! I love that your outfit matches your daughter! This is not inappropriate! It’s a great family photo!”
21-year-old mother of one Naomi Jamel Covert became an internet sensation, and received both praise and put-downs, after a photo she posted of herself breastfeeding her 10-month-old son, TJ, went viral. On Covert's personal Instagram account, the photo received 3,000 likes. It was reposted on Empowered Birth Project's account where it was liked more than 12,000 times. Many applauded Covert's post, but others weren't so kind.
She has shared that she was "shocked" by some of the comments on the photo that told her to "hide under a rock”, “throw a blanket on” or "pump and bring a bottle." Covert explained, “I wanted to show that it’s literally no big deal to breastfeed, no matter the circumstances. It’s just a breast; that’s what God gave me to use when baby is hungry.”
Covert finds it strange that many Instagram users "'like’ girls on Insta with crop tops and big cleavage[s] but call feeding a baby at a wedding horrible."
British mother Emma Tapping posted a pic of the presents under her Christmas tree to her Instagram account, and was shamed for being "materialistic" after the photo somehow went viral. A few days after Tapping shared the picture, she was tagged in a Facebook photo with a caption that read,  "It's nearly time for all the materialistic parents to compete and broadcast how many presents their kids have. Just remember, there are a lot of children who won't get much."
The Facebook post was shared more than 100,000 times and received many scathing comments. Some called the massive pile of presents "disgusting" and Tapping's children "spoiled." Tapping took to Facebook to defend herself, and to set the record straight. The mother of three wrote, "I know this page is going to get busier and I know I am in the papers today so I thought I would set people straight on a few facts. This picture was put on my Instagram along with pictures of homemade decorations I had made with the kids...It was taken, screenshot and blasted all over Facebook without my knowledge. It was not done as a 'bragging parent.'"
Tapping continued, "I love Christmas and I shop savvy to give [my kids] a good Christmas. I would happily help anyone find the bargains or give tips on how I save. I think how I spend my money on my children is my choice. You may not agree, but this is three little kids’ Christmas tree being blasted."
Chris Brown's baby mama, Nia Guzman posted a picture of their 2-year-old daughter, Royalty, to Instagram that he most definitely did not approve of. The result was a heated exchange between the parents that the whole world was privy to. After Chris accused Guzman of dressing Royalty "like she was 16" via the social media platform, RoRo's mom fired back, “If anybody thinks something is wrong with a baby…mad at the world in dance class…in her TUTU…U need to go pray! #Namaste"
Brown felt the shot was too mature for his child's age, and has since given Guzman a set of guidelines he insists she follows when posting photos of the little darling to social media. A source told HollywoodLife.com, “Chris has seen just how fast some of these girls grow up in L.A. and the last thing he wants is for his daughter to be over sexualized on social media. He’s already told Nia that he wants full photo approval of all RoRo pics she posts on social media."
The source continued, "If Nia doesn’t comply, he won’t be giving her any more money other than what the courts have told him to give her for Royalty. Chris is serious. That’s his daughter and as the proud father he is, he wants to protect her image and let her enjoy being a child.”
When Houston based author ReShonda Tate Billingsley allowed her 12-year-old daughter to open an Instagram account, she made it clear that the platform was to be used appropriately. Not long afterwards, Billings
