An upper middle class wife and mom (Mila Kunis) seems to have the perfect life but she's over-committed and exhausted. Needing a change, she gathers other stressed-out moms (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) to explore unconventional lifestyles and in a shared quest for freedom the trio butts heads with an irksome PTA president (Christina Applegate) and a clique of smug moms. SEX/NUDITY 7 - A wife walks into a home office where her husband is seated in profile at a desk quickly zips his trousers (we see a glimpse of one partial upper thigh) and the wife asks what kind of porn he is using (we see a woman on a laptop screen live on camera, in full frontal nudity from head to knees, including breasts and pubic region as she walks to the camera); the wife becomes angry and insists her husband leave the house.
► A man enters a kitchen and kisses a woman, sweeps clutter from a counter, sits her on it and removes his shirt to reveal his bare chest; he leans forward between her legs while kissing her, and the camera cuts to an overhead view of the couple on their backs in bed under covers, side by side with and the man jokes, "I think I got pregnant"; under the covers, he slides down the bed and off-screen after suggesting oral sex, she says, "Hmmm" and the scene ends.
► Two women at a party kiss passionately and then add another woman and all three kiss one another. A man and a woman try to kiss and smack their teeth together; they try again and kiss for a few seconds. A man kisses a woman's cheek while on a sidewalk.
► A woman takes a selfie as she pushes up one breast in a low-cut neckline that shows cleavage; she turns around and sticks her behind (in tight jeans) out at a man passing by who walks away fast. An actor on-screen in a movie theater rips open his shirt to reveal his bare chest and women scream in joy. A close-up shows the large bosom of a dancing woman as it bounces. A woman removes a T-shirt and we see a thick bra that covers all cleavage, but bares her abdomen as two other women poke at the bra and say it is not attractive. A mother and her 12-year-old daughter in a sauna wear large white towels that bare their shoulders. A woman stands at the back of a car with her dress hiked up and squatting as someone says that she is urinating (we see one bare knee and thigh, but no urine and we hear no sound).
► A woman pinches the nipple area of a clothed man's chest while standing in front of a car. A woman flirts with a man, smiling and staring at him and he smiles back. A woman touches a man's arm and tells other women that he has a hard body. A man says that he dreamed he was naked. A woman in a school assembly says that she likes her nanny better than she likes her husband. Women hug and a woman accidentally touches another woman's breast (the second woman moves away).
► A woman makes a hand motion like masturbation over a long dark yam as she stares at a grocery clerk who does not react. A woman peels a banana, takes a bite, and looks suggestively at a male grocery shopper, who looks wide-eyed (oral sex suggested), and then she kisses a man in another aisle and he smiles. A woman slaps a female grocery shopper on the behind. A woman at a party shakes an open vodka bottle and pretends to masturbate the neck of the bottle as another woman with an open mouth bends her knees and catches vodka in her mouth. A woman pulls the hood of another woman's hoodie up and tells her it is like the foreskin of an uncircumcised man (please see the Language category for more details) as the first woman rubs the hood around and pulls it up and down; the woman wearing the hoodie takes it off and says that she will never wear it again.
► Three married women discuss problems with their sex lives at home: One woman describes what she does with her husband's genitals in graphic detail, a woman says that she has sex with her husband once a week on Saturday nights, another woman says that her husband had an affair over the Internet for 10 months and another woman makes a sexually explicit remark about a man passing by. A woman in a club alienates two men by discussing breastfeeding causing cracked nipples and a child's explosive diarrhea; another man walks away when he sees her wedding ring. A middle school girl shouts at her mother, yelling that mom is sleeping with a classmate's father and the girl stomps away. A woman tells a female friend, "My husband totally 50-Shaded me this morning." A woman says that her mom took her to see a movie about S & M gay clubs when she was in elementary school and the mother says, "But it was Al Pacino."
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A woman falls over a low fence and lands flat on her face (we see no injury). A child on a soccer field knocks a woman flat onto her back (we see no injury). A toddler hits his mother hard in the stomach with a plastic baseball bat and she crumples in pain. A woman in her parked van spills hot coffee onto her face and shrieks (no burns occur).
► A woman drives fast and an open Tupperware container of food is thrown into her face; she drives onto the sidewalk and tears off a side view mirror from a car she passes. A woman drives fast and erratically, nearly hitting a few cars and a truck in two scenes. An angry woman throws a laptop to the floor. While drunk, three women beat up a cardboard display image of a happy housewife. An angry woman kicks a door in, then enters another room and yells at another woman briefly. A woman threatens another woman at a bake sale, throwing donuts onto a floor and telling her that she will make her life miserable; the threatening woman knocks down another woman who has a tray of cupcakes, scattering cupcakes across a floor.
► After drinking a lot of alcohol (please see the Substance Use category for more details), three women enter a grocery store and eat cereal from boxes, pouring some onto the floors; they open and spill bottles of vodka and chocolate milk onto floors as a police officer runs toward them, then runs away as one of the women charges him and he knocks down a tall display of cases of beverages.
► A woman tells PTA members that there is a list of at least two dozen dangerous ingredients not allowed in items for a bake sale; she shows a brief film of police officers beating people in the street with clubs as incentive to not use the ingredients. A woman says that she fantasizes about two weeks in a hospital after a car crash so she would be able to get some rest. A woman cries behind the wheel in her parked van in a couple of scenes. A little girl cries when she is dropped from her soccer team. A woman jokingly says that her toddler is a killer. A woman says that her husband was arrested for embezzlement and her brother joined ISIS terrorists.
► A dog limps and collapses and a woman takes him to the vet, who says the dog has vertigo and will have diarrhea for 36 hours (we do not see diarrhea). A woman stands at the back of a car with her dress hiked up and squatting as someone says that she is urinating (we see one bare knee and thigh, but no urine and we hear no sound).
LANGUAGE 10 - About 70 F-words and its derivatives, 28 sexual references, 22 scatological terms, 33 anatomical terms, 20 mild obscenities, name-calling (crazy, insane, moron, stupid, dumb, weird, dork, slutty, loser, scrub, mentally unhinged alcoholic, crackhead), exclamations (gosh, oh my gosh, shoot, oh nuts, shut-up, shut your face), 1 religious profanity (GD), 37 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh My God, Jesus Christ, Holy [scatological term deleted], Holy [F-word deleted], Oh God, God, My God, Thank You God, Jesus, Thank God, I Swear To God).
SUBSTANCE USE - A woman plants a baggie of unknown drugs in a middle school locker in the dark and the principal shows the child's mother a baggie of several marijuana cigarettes the next morning, a principal says that Snoop Dog began smoking weed at age five, a woman in a school assembly stands and says that she took her son's marijuana and smoked it all, a woman says that she gives her young son Benadryl so she can watch TV, and a woman says that she asked for Demerol during labor. A bar scene shows three women at a bar facing the camera and drinking short glasses whiskey with an open bottle in front of one of them and they laugh and slur their words (one of the women falls off a barstool, uninjured), three woman drink champagne in a restaurant and later three martinis, a man drinks a bottle of beer at the family dinner table and a glass of wine is shown in front of a woman (untouched), three women drink mixed cocktails in a pizza place, we see a dozen cases of wine with several bottles on a table at a house party, four women drink several glasses of wine at a party and begin laughing as they text other women to join them (the house and yard are soon full of women drinking wine), an inebriated woman rides a tricycle down the front steps of a house and falls (she is unhurt), a woman shakes a vodka bottle (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details), a woman serves Jell-O shots with cherry vodka and fruit at a party and says that she starts every day by eating six of them, women drink shots of whiskey and cups of beer at a party, Muslim women dance at a party (they do not drink), and a pregnant woman with a large belly dances with a drink in her hand.

“I let my kids decide how to dress and how long their hair should be. Fun fact, both boys had very long hair for years and it drove my father CRAZY. Despite his very scientific theory, neither have yet to turn out gay (they are both teens now). I also never made them eat their dinner. They could eat all or part of what I made, but if they didn’t like any of it (which was rare) they could go make a sandwich. This was my mother’s hill to die on, and I am STILL pissed that I wasted so much time as a child, crying at the dinner table because I could not stomach canned peas. F*** YOU MOM. As teenagers I gave them lube and condoms and told them to be safe. I work for the coroner and have picked up TONS of overdose victims. I told my kids that if they ever wanted to get high, to come to me and I would get some from a dispensary (pot is legal here, but not for minors). One son took me up on it one time. He didn’t really care for the feeling. Both my kids are really chill and fun to be around. I’m sure I’ve made many mistakes, but honestly and transparency have worked really well for us.” — tripperfunster

I want to be supportive of all the moms here by saying there is a lot of virtue signaling going on and ‘bad’ things that aren’t so bad (I let my kid have juice a whole once a week!! Sometimes we don’t eat organic! I let him overdose on PBS cartoons!!). Just be honest and revel in your occasional badness. I think it’s necessary to create kids who are comfortable being independent. Being a modern mother is IMPOSSIBLE and the standards are insane! “I let my kid (10) listen to explicit music. I’m a huge fan of Wu-Tang and I bought him a shirt from one of their shows. He was curious, so he asked if he could listen to some of their music. He ended up really liking them. Honestly, I think it’s an educational opportunity. He learns about a different culture and the struggles that they are forced to live through. We have open discussions about words they use and which ones he should not say. If he doesn’t understand a bar, we break it down together.
