Thai Massage is a genuine form of bodywork with an ancient and honorable tradition which dates back to the days of the Goutama Buddha. For thousands of years, Buddhist monks have learned and used Thai Yoga for therapeutic purposes.
It is a unique style of massage based upon the principles of compassion. It is an amazing synthesis of many techniques including leaning pressure, reflexology, energy line work, yoga and stretching. The therapist uses palms, thumbs, feet, elbows, forearms and knees to achieve the necessary effects. The patient is moved through a wide variety of postures within the supine, side lying, prone, inverted, and seated positions.
All the work is done on a mat on the floor and is practiced slowly. The client remains in loose-fitted clothing; no oils or other skin lubricants are used in Thai Yoga Massage.
Our bodywork combines traditional Thai massage with a variety of additional stretches and methods which we have found to give the greatest therapeutic effect. This can be accomplished both on the floor and table.
The client has the experience of being completely and thoroughly revitalized.
