Watched a bit of the 12/2 Board Meeting last night and saw where the … Police Chief was being grilled about the way he went about interviewing and hiring new personnel. Some of the board members wanted a heads up the next time he was going to do this so they could sit in on the interviews. What the hell is the Police Commissioner doing? I was under the impression he was to be the liaison between the Police Dept and the Board. If not that, then what is he doing to earn his salary??? This board has got to allow the various department heads and other boards to do their jobs as prescribed in our town code and NYS requirements - they are looking for cheaper ways to do EVERYTHING!!! Cheaper is not necessarily better. As to finding other companies to do jobs current companies are doing for us, why??? IF there are no complaints about the current vendors, why would you want to take a chance on somebody new AND how long would it take them to get things up to speed and do them correctly and at what cost??? Original Post: Town water operator CAMO Pollution has begun work to repair a leak in the Beacon Hills Water District. Residents on Pineview, Grandview and Blue Grass can expect a brief interruption while repairs are completed.
The Beacon Hills project contractor has announced no planned road closures or detours for the remainder of the week.
Due to severe weather Monday and Tuesday, the Beacon Hills project contractor will perform the conversion of the booster station on Sunnyside Road between 9am and 1pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Residents in the Beacon Hills water district can expect their service to be interrupted while the conversion is completed.

The project contractor has reached a phase in the work where service can be converted to a large portion of newly installed main. This is very a positive step in this improvement project.
The process of abandoning the old mains and converting service to the new mains requires service to be shut off for the whole district while the conversion takes place. This work is scheduled for Monday, February 1, between 9am-1pm, and residents can expec … t to lose water service for a few hours while work takes place.

Original Post: Work continues on three areas of Beacon Hills. The booster station on Sunnyside is being connected to the new water mains, and residents at higher elevations will experience an interruption in service while this connection is completed. Crews have also begun work on two separate issues on Pineview and on Greenwood. All work is set to be completed in a timely manner.
