Music video for my first single Better Than Love. My music has been evolving steadily over the past year as I've absorbed a constant flow of amazing people, sou…nds, and experiences. It has been time to pause now in order to start to release some of the recordings I've done so far. I came to Berlin a year ago to try to blend electronic digital, analogue and live sounds. The music stays out on the fringe of many genres. Each song an experiment with a life all its own. It has all been magic.
I made this song Better Than Love over the past grey winter here with the fantastic Till Noon at his home studio. Although already an established DJ and producer he was very gracious and was open and inviting to working with someone brand new in the city. We recorded the vocals quickly while the construction workers next door went on lunch break and we took cold cigarrete breaks with hot coffee on his balcony over looking the city.
We then took the finished tracks down to the one and only Hannes Bieger. Hannes is surrounded in his studio by giant modular synths with all the cables and knobs and lights you would ever hope to find. He has a startling musical focus and energy matched by a great sense of humor. He brought his magic touch and also some great live bass and percussion on the last minute jam out.
This video is by the wonderous Virtual Koi who brings her creativity and visual art to capture the weird magic and fun experimental nature of the sound I am chasing. It is fleshed out by a cast of what is surly one of the great Berlin crews of weird loving amazing party chickens.
This is the first effort in an ever evolving and hopefully consistant output so stay tuned and listen in to the grand experiments in Indie Electro or whatever you want to call it.

Intermission at the Neil Young solo show. So great. The upright piano on the left he said he used to make After the Gold Rush. It was a rental for that album. He said he paid the rental long enough to pay for the piano twice over. He finally called them up and asked if he could just keep it since he's paid for it so long. They told him he could buy it. So he did.
