Profitero is developing one of the world's leading e-commerce analytics services. We collect information and analyze it using complex mathematical models and machine learning. Every day we gather information from more than half a billion product pages.
Profitero provides global manufacturers with critical eCommerce insights, helping to enhance their online sales and market positioning. We deliver key online metrics, including pricing, product content quality, search ranking, the share of online shelf and promotions, in any country, and from any online or multichannel retailer. We work with such world brands as Adidas, Affinity, Barilla, Beiersdorf, Heineken, L'Oréal, etc.
✅ Key responsibilities:
Developing the backend part of the SaaS-product (implementation of new functionality / new features)
Developing analytics reports based on huge arrays of historical data
Developing API accessing big arrays of data
Performance and server resources consumption optimization
DB-queries and data storing optimization
DB architecture development, data storage distribution
Data presentation and arrangement, API architecture
Improving system resiliency and security
✅ We expect:
Strong knowledge of Ruby with a minimum of 2+ years practical experience
Strong knowledge of SQL, the experience of working with relational databases like MySQL
Solid understanding of performance optimization and algorithmization
Experience with web technologies (HTTP, web servers, etc.)
Readiness to speak English fluently
Experience of developing in Linux environment
A natural interest in modern server-side technologies and ability to learn new things
Passion to get into the development process quickly and deliver good quality code
✅ Nice to have:
Willingness to learn data engineering (Airflow, Spark, Jupiter and Zeppelin notebooks)
Experience with frontend development (React, Dojo)
Experience with C++ would be a plus
