About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Programmer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our rhythm-based mobile game. This includes everything from creating scalable APIs to optimizing server performance and ensuring secure, seamless gameplay experiences.

You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members to deliver high-quality backend systems that support a global player base.

Location: Leamington Spa / Remote

Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (plus performance-based bonuses)

Key Responsibilities


* Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
* Integrate server-side logic with frontend gameplay elements
* Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability
* Implement robust security and data protection protocols
* Identify, debug, and resolve backend issues
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
* Conduct code reviews and contribute to team-wide best practices
* Stay current with emerging technologies and backend trends



Requirements


* Proven experience as a Backend Programmer or in a similar backend role
* Proficiency in C#
* Experience with AWS and Google Cloud environments
* Knowledge of backend performance, CI/CD automation, and security best practices
* Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
* Effective communication and collaboration abilities



Preferred Qualifications


* Experience in the games industry or developing backend systems for mobile platforms
* Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized deployments
* Understanding of microservices architecture
